Why would I fess up, you believe chasing low totals results in performance?

Where was he during the 1st game? When he was asked to put a decent total on the scorecard?

And getting out after being dropped in the 3rd gake chasing such a low score is unforgivable.

But it's a shame you live in stats world. No wonder you believe rizzu is the God of spin in test cricket 🤣

Nothing has changed on this front on since 2020. Rizwan has been the undisputed best WK batsman in the country by a mile for 4-5 years now.

I ask again - who should replace him? You don’t have the cojones to take this question, so let’s wait for others.
 
Pakistan can still lose this game from here as two guys who have been at the forefront of so many Pakistan defeats have had to make the crease

I'd rather live in a stats world than a world where someone thinks that a guy who averages 15 should be captain of Pakistan and be opening the batting

Personally for me,

Rizwan for ODI's and Tests

For T20's I think Riz is too slow with the bat, but as you say, there is no real alternative at the moment. Usman Khan / Azam Khan can't keep well. Haseebullah is also too slow with the bat & Harris can't score beyond 2 digits

Saim has a very good List A record from memory.

I already said that OZ batting stocks are weak. Doesnt matter if they are playing at home. They don't have good records even in List A

Short - 33
Hardie - 19

Tbh Rizwan shouldn't even be in the T20 team. I think he's a really good player but he is simply not cut out for T20 cricket. Haris was the man for that format but he hasn't done himself any favors with his recent performances.

Before the serious we were told how scary JFM will be, and how good Inglish is as a hard hitting wicketkeeper batsman, and Smith the Goat will eat Pakistan alive, and not to mighty Maxwell would have fun with Pakistani bowlers, and even Short is in great form. Realistically only one decent player Head is missing and as I said before Pakistan have some too including Fakhar. So cut down on excuses please.

How can Australia recover from this given the declining interest in odi in general.

They were never. Great t20 side. They are mainly kings only in odi.

But post 2002, this is their first loss to Pakistan in a bilateral series down under.

Is this a new era for Pakistan? They have now beaten the world number number 1 convincingly.

They favourites to win the champions trophy surely and the next WC?

T20 in general should be for younger players and to identify talent and then work their way up to odi and test. Only in Pakistan its taken so serious.

Babar and rizwan suit odi and tests only and should even open in odis. Would be ideal for them to tuk tuk 20 overs and put a big start on the board

Many years ago, I started a thread that what would the fans prefer: Pak test series win in Australia Vs a World Cup win. I was a minority favouring the former but my opinion hasn't changed...what I wouldn't give to see Aussies beaten on their home turf in tests in my lifetime!

Quick question. I do agree with the rest. But who on earth said smith and Maxwell would eat pak?

JFM and inglis yes, infact I myself have also claimed it.

But smith and Maxwell have been finished for a quite a while now? They didn't do Jack in the England series?

It's just steve smith even in his current form is slightly superior to every batter in pakistan. Only saim and fakhar when onsong are better atm.

These 2 are finished. I don't recall anyone hyping these 2.

Inglis, Short and JFM yes
 
To be fair to Inglis, he definitely makes the Pakistan bench. As far JFM is concerned, he will have a hard time getting into the Pakistan A squad.

Are we sure he is not a product of nepotism? Surely, Australia have better players than him in domestic cricket.
