Pakistan don't do long term so I rather have horses for courses approach so as long as Shaan is fit, don't see why not?

Refreshing to have someone educated and who can read the game well as Kuptaan for once...

he has his actual age listed unlike our other players plus he is super fit so he can easily play till then.If you look at younis,misbah or afridi they all played till their 40s and masood is fitter than them.

My cousin ubered Shaan once to London Heathrow and he told him that he was the only one who had stated his correct age...everyone else was actually 3 to 4 years older than their age on the page...he was also very honest about his shortcomings and said he was working very hard to rectify these in the nets...

He is a gentleman. Very nice to speak to. Understands cricket, just hasn't been good enough to execute it. He will have a prosperous career when he done with playing.
 
Why Imam is so pathetic? He cant buy a single run, absolutely clueless against Cummins and trying to run Shan out. Hate this guy so much. Sifarshi.

Starc even at the back end of his career still a more quicker and dangerous bowler than Shaheen

Shaheen at no point has been better than him
 
Imam Parchi 29 of 119. He is even slower than Wasti. Political interferences is destroying our cricket. This parch shouldn't even play first class leagues let alone main team. One of the worst player Pakistan has ever produced.

Why are they taking so many risks all of a sudden..i am thinking maybe the plan was openers see off the new ball and tire them
 
always good to have one leftie with a rightie. they opponents have to frequently change fields and it disrupts bowlers rhythm.
leftie left or rightie rightie is easy to lineup for.

Who is taking risks, Imam is still struggling to put a bat on a ball after being bowled 122 balls.
 
If we finish the day just 1 down then I think we've had a decent game so far.

Shaheen is like 6'4, he's shorter than Starc who is 6'6, and Shehzad is like 5'8-9' at best

this junaids wet dream not mine. just stating what he prefers. but team SA also had only 2 bowlers over 6'3 whey won twice in australia prior the last series down under.

india also had only one bowler over 6'3 when they won in 2018 and all under 6 foot when they won in 2021
so height bs is a myth. yes you need one or 2 for variation as higher release points generate steep bounce but its not a necessity if you have pace and skills. shorties can always use bouncer as a surprise weapon in every over. maybe 2 an over.

It's a sound plan as long as they up the scoring rate at that point, although personally I don't think they needed to wait until 35 overs, 15 overs is usually enough to see off the new ball.

Problem with being too defensive is that the next new ball is due after 80 overs so you need to get a move on at this point.
 
Huge wicket. I think the third umpire should have rolled back and forth a bit on the replay as the spikes on that snicko were doing all sorts. Little bit too positive from Shan there but not helped by Imam on the other end building up pressure.
 
I don’t understand…your captain clearly wants to play positive but then you have two openers who score 50 runs in 30 overs. What’s the strategy?

Score 100 in 50 overs and then score 200 in the last 30 before the 2nd new ball?
 
dont get this nigh watchman concept. rubbish. we dont need to put a new batsman under pressure. what if he gets out tomorrow within the first over which is highly likely.

It was a definite edge based on Shan's reaction too.
 
Another hard working 30 for Shan. This is his level, yet he's been made captain. This test side is truly in the gutters.
 
How could you send out a guy who is on debut…isn’t really a cricketer besides bowling to play as your night watchman against Starc etc?

No, it is because Masood is rubbish who cannot average above 30-31 to save his life.

Only in Pakistan can such a mediocre batsman be not only first choice but also captain.

everyone is saying that. i really really hope so. is khurram and jamal like tail enders or ? jamal i have seen bat at times and he looked serviceable but this is australian pitches we are talking about.
