Anwar is a poor choice, I wrote in match preview that PAK should drop Anwar for Yasir (keeping Gohar).
Malik actually plays as batting all-rounder - without him, PAK's tail starts from 8. I'll reiterate once more that PAK's ODI team selection isn't balanced. In ODI, bits & pieces all-rounders work if - those all-rounders are street smart & the Captain handling them has the clue & guts. It'll be foolish to think that Azhar Ali 'll use Malik, Iftekhar, Anwar or Yamin like MSD used Viru, Raina, Tendulkar or even YV (though in later stages he has good enough to be a regular 5th bowler).
Best combination for PAK is to go with 4 specialist bat, 2 batting all-rounder, 1 WK who makes the team on batting merit & 4 specialist bowlers, of whom couple can contribute with bat.
In UAE context (& the team picked for this Series), there is hardly any options.
But going forward, best option doesn't include Azhar. Outside Asia, it's 3 pacers + Imad/Gohar/Yasir; in Asia it's 2 pacers + 2 spinners. 4 batsmen - 3 of them are MoHa, Rizwan, Babar, my 4th choice is Umar. I know he is messing things now days, but for current PAK, dropping a player with 35+/85+ stats means WI of 80s dropping Richie Richardson or Desi Haynes. Haris & Malik makes the team as batting all-rounders.
MoHa, Babar
Haris, Umar, Malik
Rizwan, Sarfraz
Imad
In Asia - Gohar/Yasir, Wahab, Irfan
Outside Asia - Wahab, Irfan & a 3rd seemer (May be Aamir as well, but I would like to pick a right-armer, otherwise every regular bowler becomes lefti).
People have allergy on Malik's name, therefore I am not asking to make him Captain (He 'll always be my choice, as long as he is making the team on merit) - may be MoHa or Sarfraz can be made Captain & it's a must that one of Babar or Imad is made deputy (Haris doesn't give the impression of leadership & making both Captain & deputy close to 35 is PCB special, only happens in PAK).
When last time PAK's top 3 has taken the team to 194/2 in 35'3? This PAK side 'll be man-slaughtered if they take on IND in UAE on those garbage PCB farmers are producing as wickets.
