I also remember a hamstring injury making SRT look move like a 'retard' when playing Harris in no joke but all true sense, when he was fit check some videos of him against WARNIEEEEEEEE :19:

well, I aint getting into ancient times....more interested in today's game...

:)

does anyone know if the conditions will help swing bowling...

i don't think any of these S Africans quicks are that good at swinging the ball so we can't go by their performance.

Cross your fingers.
Younis in 40s. He has a tendency to get out during this phase.

miss Mohammad Yousuf, he could have started this year with another phenomenal performance...

If he crosses it then sure it would be 100 and hopefully a big one...

very good partnership. hopefully one of these 2 will go get a big score and the other gets at least 70.

run rate is increasing rapidly as well.

good evening every body.. saw the whole innings.. i think we have started his tour well.. !
good luck YK and Yasir.

Kallis to Yasir Hameed, 2 runs, good length delivery outside the off stump, Hammed gets well forward and drives it away well in front of point, going down on one knee as he played the shot. Nel moved across quickly in the deep and threw himself at full stretch to cut off the boundary, fantastic effort from the big man.
umm what the heck?

What do you have to say about the pitch?
Salam PP.. wait till Asif operates here... but dont get high hopes from Rana/Nazir. there's no swing. Asif is a seamer!

I think 400 wud be a par score here..anything more than that , pak wud hav done well.....for the first time we will be seeing asif ona flat pitch , am curious to see how he peforms!

Yes the second test against India was on a flat pitch, this isnt really a flat pitch as I said earlier it has grass but the pace isnt their which is necessary along with seam movement.

The pitch is going to become quicker as the game progresses. Already from one of the ends there is a hint of dodgy bounce. I think batting first was important for us for sure.

I saw the pitch report in the morning - not seen any action. There were some bare areas and some grassy areas.

So it may become a two paced pitch?

offcourse it isnt subcontinent type flat....I don think bounce will help asif much ....no movement & like you said it lacks pace ...so am curious to see how he does here!

350 isn't actually a good score it is the par score for the first innings,
Pakistan need to be aiming for 400/450 (inshallah) to be safe
This pitch really deteriorates in the last two innings and anything over 250 is pretty much unchaseable, and thats where Kaneria comes in.

you , it will be two paced !

I dont understand you people we started off with 300 as a good score now 300 is below par and 350 is par. Is one good partnership enough to change your opinion?

yup , 400 shud be a good total....but am not sure the pitch will suit pak bowlers !

excellent stuff from Younis and Yasir, nearing a century partnership.

Come on man give credit where its due, this wicket is not flat and Pakistan is playing with a lot of courage, unlike your hero Rahul Dravid :19:

I have been saying pitch is flat from the begining...having watched whole of ind-sa series..I can say ,this is the best you can get in sa !

Tendu fans shud be the last people to talk about courage ,you shud know that...!

:))) :)))

Guys calm down only 3 min. to tea...please bat sensibly...we need you after the tea too. I dont want Faisal Iqbal to see now so soon..

runrate is 2.87 right now. We need to improve that to at least 3.2 today.

Why? I rather we finished the day at around 250 -3 than 288-9.

Rahul Dravid tops the list when he goes up against; AUS & SA :D , but bring a team like WI into the picture and good god Dravid will win you matches :)) ...

hmm! ppl! stop mentioning MAALAWN name's here..i dont want us to jinx by mentioning their name..

Huh? :20:

We need to occupy the crease, get runs on the board, keep wickets intact, make the game safe and then move on from there. Makes logical sense. There is no pressure to score quickly as long as you score big.

Assuming 34 overs are bowled after Tea:

RR of 3,76 after tea is needed.

Not very likely but who knows.

Keeping wickets in hand at this stage seems more important though.

Max of 2 wickets until close and Pakistan will be due a healthy lead.

but the over all run rate should at least be over 3.

Tell your buddy Dravid to watch Younis Khan in the nets atleast ,so he can see how to play fearlessly :19:

ok if we keep this run rate as it is or near how much projected score at end of play?

From Cricbuzz:

What a session this has been for the Pakistanis!!! They have dominated it right from the word go and once again we saw Younis Khan delivering the goods for his side when it was most needed and not to forget the great support he was provided with from the other end, Yasir Hameed. Both of them are going strong with half a ton under their belt. The Protean bowlers looked lacklustre and failed to pose any threat to the Pakistani batting. The South Africans would have to get things sorted out and have to chip in with wickets right from the time when they come out after tea. If the duo stays for another hour or so, then the South Africans are in for a big chase in the first innings itself and there is good amount of batting to follow after this. I also need a cup of tea and will be back with all the action in about 20 minutes time from now.

257, as opposed to 288 @ 3.2.

31 Runs does it really matter?

257-3 is better than 288-4 even.

with this runrate the score will be 260. Hopefully they make at least 280.

WELl done Younis KHan and Hameed both. Playing test cricket the way it should be played. I'm happy for Hameed, I always thought he would well on bouncy pitches. IT's good start for him, lets hipe he converts it to century and not throw his wicket after such a good start.

those 30 runs may make difference at the end.

yassir played beautifully today and has curved his urge to fishing it look like he worked on his game hard good to see. younis lookin good hopefully inshallah hundred

amazin stuff by the two y's ....& even the openers i believe did realy well to see of the new ball ...& why is evrybody complaining about the run rate guyz this is a test match & even at this position i'll be happy if pak scored 300+ .....i think so pak bowlers wil do wel on this pitch as they wont ball short & even kaneria will get some spin .. so if pak can score 300+ i believe SA is in huge trouble ...
