Pakistan vs South Africa 2nd test match...Day 2 from Port Elizabeth.

Another toe-crusher! Amazing delivery by Sami

Middle-stump absolutely shot back by that vicious yorker!

South Africa 61/3 - Trail by 80 runs

in comes ashwell the danger man

if sami can remove him like last innings we are well and truly on top

we ARE well and trully on top

Still 80 runs behind with another 7 wickets in hand.

I predict we will be chasing 120 and will win by 1 wicket. Last wicket partnership of 101 between Asif and Kaneria will win it for us.

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAZ ALLAAH

We're right on top...as long as we keep the pressure on we shouldn't be chasing much at all.

yes but these two can be quite dangerous if they get a partnership going and ashwell has been in good form so it would be a great bonus to get him out

Obviously it would be better to get them out I am just pointing out that there is no reason to be pessimistic. At the moment we are well on top of this game. Pakistan are in total control at the moment.

I ll 2nd you on this! keep the fire burning Sami

wow supreme delivery to prince by sami that beats him and there was a delayed caught behind appeal but didn't look like he nicked it

I think we have reached our goal of 3 down before deficit erased. Now anything before that is a huge bonus. 4 would be nice, 5 would seal it.

Another two wickets by the time they reach our score........come on.

anyone watching please answer? any difference in the runup of Sami?

It does not seem any different to me and looks about as short/long as it has been since he shortened his initial run up a year or so back

if Pakistan can get Kallis and Prince before the lead is wiped off - they will be in great position

Already in a great position

Was not Pakistan robbed off 5 runs ..when the ball hit the helmet and the umpires declared dead ball ?

That was added later apparantly though I didn't notice

ye even i was very confused with that and why it was adjudged a dead ball

well, then , he is not much changed Sami...prob. it has to do something with his confidence...u know, mental thing?

Well many have often said that he has one of the smoothest run ups and action in the game and it is weird that he has not been as succesful as his potential suggests.

Yaar, we could win the 2007 World Cup, and we 'wouldnt be in a great position' for some!

True.

Even if we bowl every side out for 42 there will always be someone who says 'we should have got them for 32' and even if we score 500 there will be someone who says 'we are 50 runs short'. Just the way it is with Pakistan cricket!

Really? I was watching that entire part of the innings and there did not seem to be 5 runs added anywhere

That is what I thought. But apparantly they added it!

lefties are problem nuts for our bowlers!!!!!!1lets hope this Prince go back to from where he comes from soon

heh, its cause we believe so much in our team and how much better they could/should be :P I am relatively happy with this position though although I would love to see the back of prince

Asif is the best bowler in the world against lefties

73-3 after another good sami over (mark these words as they will not appear all that often :P)

and drinks are called

What's the score and who's on what? Any chance of an entertaining finish tomorrow (or Day 5)? And where was Shoaib earlier?

wasn't there some statistics done through cricinfo or something saying that stuart clark was the best and Asif was like third against lefties?

yeah right, but Asif already has bowled 13 overs on trot for today, he cant be back till tomorrow.....

73-3

Kallis 21

Prince 8

Shoaib pulled his hamstring and was supposedly at the hospital to get x-rays

Doubt that the match will end tomorrow (unless something really spectacular happens), mainly due to South Africa's run-rate at the moment

Conversely there are some who count their chickens too early and cut a sorry figure when the match is finally over :P

Ramiz keeps saying Shoaib 'pulled' his hamstring but I am not sure if it is a pull............I believe it is a strain. I think that is just Ramiz's poor English.

Mohammad Sami to Prince, no run, probing delivery, hits the deck short of length, kicks up even as it angles away from the off stump, Prince pushes back, sees the movement and withdraws his bat from the line. Akmal does the rest. Drinks have been called.

says crapinfo abt Sami´s bowling....I am loving reading this about Sami..since Ferrari is wtih the mechanics, we badly need Sami to give his best

You know Pakistan is doing well when their quickies are sending middle stumps on a roll towards the keeper! :D Great stuff by both Sami and Asif. The bowlers could have settled into a negative mindset after the loss of Akhtar, temporary or permanent we don't know as yet. But credit to them to have keep a positive frame of mind and kept going at the Saffies. We're in with a wonderful chance. Inshallah we will win this one.

Oh yes! Plenty of examples of that.

1st Test against England in Multan- wrist slitters out in force only to be squirming by the end of the match.

3rd Test against England in Lahore- everyone whinging and abusing the PCB about the pitch and how the game is going to be a dull draw. BANG. Pakistan win. Wrist slitters vanish again.

1st Test against Sri Lanka- again, wrist slitters out in force .We draw the game. Wrist slitters vanish.

2nd Test against Sri Lanka- same story, except we won!

3rd Test against India at Karachi- ditto!

So there have been plenty of examples of people being overly pessimistic only to have their pathetic words stuffed down their faces and up their backsides (sideways)! Long live optimism!

Just heard the first complete sentence on the cricket field during play

"Asif agaya"

2 more wickets in the next 61 runs would be game, set and match for Pakistan. 3 would be basically taking the p*ss out of them. 1 more would be nice. No more would be 'come on Pakistan, don't let them get back into it'.
