[PICTURES] Liverpool FC | 2023/24 Season

What's he like this guy? I've not seen much of him.
He was pretty decent at Ajax, can provide Liverpool with the physical and breaking up play player they need. Still rough around edges but klopp will mould him into a good player

Then we will meet Hollyoaks Arteta side when they are kicked out of the CL group stage. :)

Liverpool have signed midfielder Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in a deal worth about £34.3m (40m euros).

The 21-year-old Netherlands international has joined the Reds on a five-year contract.

Gravenberch has left Bayern having only signed for the club from Ajax last year for an initial £15.8m (18.5m euros).

"I'm very happy that the deal is done and I'm finally here. It's one of the biggest clubs in the world," Gravenberch told Liverpool's website.

"Now we start fresh again, a new start, and I'm going to give my all for this club. [My ambitions are] to win prizes. To win prizes, play a lot and show them who we are and who I am."

Gravenberch, who has taken the number 38 shirt, is a player Liverpool have tracked for several seasons and the Reds see him as someone who can play in a number of different roles and systems in midfield.

He joins fellow midfielders Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo in being signed by Liverpool this summer.

The Anfield side have been conducting a refresh of their midfield with the departures James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on free transfers being followed by Jordan Henderson and Fabinho leaving the club to go to Saudi Arabian sides.

As easy as you like today.

Villa were awful, but Liverpool were very tidy and good on the ball.

Impressed with Dominik Szoboszlai who looks a good signing.

Alexander-Arnold played well before going off injured.

Liverpool have had 3 pretty trick fixtures and have 10 points. They now have a good pool of midfield options to choose from, so should be in title race with City.

Villa were never in the game, it could have 5/6 today.

Liverpool's midfield and top 3 combined are up there with City.

International break now. We need our players to return fit. If we can avoid injuries this season, we will challenge City. Arsenal, Utd, Newcastle and Chelsea are a long way off.

With gravenberch and Thiago you do have good midfield depth again. Also going forward looks like you will keep scoring goals.

The depth is needed due to the style of play. Now with extra time being longer and 5 subs allowed, Klopp wants to go hard at teams from kick off , to make changes later.

Alisson is the key though, his form over the last 2 years has been sensational. Easily the best keeper on the planet.

Defensively you will need to avoid injuries as that's the one area that could be exposed as short as season goes on.

Allison yeah will always save you extra points.

The big news is Salah showing his loyalty by making no fuss of forcing a move to Saudi. When money means everything with the Saudi's throwing cash to average players yet this man seems happy to be with us at least the foreseeable future. Like Coutinho or Can he too could have caused trouble instead he just got on with it playing very well in the process. If he departs next summer he will do so with our blessings. There is no guarantee that the supposed £200 million he is sold for will be reinvested in the squad. Seeing Chelsea's awful start missing out on Caicedo and Lavia does not seem that bad at all with the latter already injured I believe. Jurgen has done okay in the transfer market working on a limited budget he does not have an open cheque book like Man City or Chelsea. Endo's signing is the one giving me reason for concern. The acid test will be when we face Man City and even Arsenal later on in the season.

Liverpool have named a 23-man squad for the UEFA Europa League.

Goalkeepers
Alisson Becker, Vitezslav Jaros, Caoimhin Kelleher.

Defenders
Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Kostas Tsimikas, Andy Robertson, Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Midfielders
Wataru Endo, Thiago Alcantara, Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones, Ryan Gravenberch, Bobby Clark.

Forwards
Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Ben Doak.

Saudi money really has changed the landscape. Never in a million years would I imagine selling a 31/32 year old for that much money, Liverpool would be crazy not to take it next summer.

I agree. We should take the money providing the offer is still there next summer. What concerns me is FSG may not use that money to reinvest in the squad.

Thiago is too injury prone to be selected for the Europa League. Surely he will be leaving in the summer when his contract expires. As good as Thiago is on his day we should have selected Harvey Elliott for the ECL at his expense.

Saudi's want Salah coz he is an Arab and the best Muslim footballer if not athlete currently playing at his peak who has managed to elude their fantasy league. They want to make Salah the poster boy of Saudi Football even if it means paying him £2 million a week. Liverpool should use this Saudi obsession with Salah to milk as much money from them as possible. I would bite their hands off for the reported £200 million they will be offering next summer.

FSG won't re-invest all the money, just like the kronkes at Arsenal they will look to just balance books. Neither ownership has real ambition. If FSG did, when you had a better team then city a few years ago they would have invested to stay at the top.

That is my fear. It is where the manager comes in insisting that if you sell one of my best players i want a replacement. At times Jurgen is too soften on the owners. He appears to be a "yes" man.

Just like wenger acted as a shield to defend owners Jurgen is doing same. If Jurgen did speak out he would be sacked. Unfortunately unless your owners sell up, Liverpool as a club will just be run on a self sustaining model. which means unless you get all your signings spot on like a few years ago, otherwise you will struggle to compete.

Arsenal owners are still the same ones as before who are now spending money. Better to get sacked then be a "yes" man in my opinion. I feel our owners would listen if Jurgen threatened FSG with resigning instead of smiling all the time. It is not possible to get all the signings right despite Jurgen having a great record. We wanted Caicedo and/or Lavia but had to settle for the great Endo!

Two of Liverpool’s Premier League games in November have been rescheduled.

New fixture details are listed below (all times UK):

Luton Town v Liverpool: Sunday November 5 (4.30pm kick-off)
Liverpool v Brentford: Sunday November 12 (2pm kick-off).

I think the top 4 will be City, Liverpool, Spurs, and Arsenal — although I’m not yet sure in which order.

Agree that Newcastle, Chelsea, and Man United are way behind.

Saudi will do anything to secure Salah. Hold out for £220 million and smash the world record. That would be absolutely fantastic money for Liverpool.

Salah is a marketing dream. Not only loved by hundreds of millions of Muslim/Arab fans, he is loved around the world.

Salah has nearly 63 million followers on Insta. . The most popular English player is Kane, with 16 million.

To have an Arab in their league would be huge, so I fully agree with 2 years to go on his contract, get over £200 million for him. However he is unreplaceable, no other player would show so much commitment, fitness, attitude and goals/assists as Salah does. Reason why Salah is already in LFCs all time XI.

Im not sure Spurs have the squad to stay in the race but not being in Europe could help them.

Off topic, but quickly do you see Leeds coming back up?

'We changed pretty much everything in the second-half'

Wolves 1-3 Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to BBC Sport: "We have to play better than we did in the first-half. We did in the second which was the best moment to react. In the first half we had some problems physically, we weren't sharp, we weren't right. We tried to find out who's ready (after the international break) and it was not a perfect choice. The best news was it was over and I thought we cannot play worse. That's why we changed pretty much everything in the second-half, tactically and physically.

"Second-half we controlled it completely and it was a really good game then. We deserved to win in the end that's clear. We scored the equaliser, kept controlling, kept trying and won the game which was massive for us."

On the impact from the bench: "Quality on the bench helps massively. Quality on the pitch was very good too even thought the boy struggled to show it. I am happy with the squad we have."

On Liverpool coming from behind to win again: "It's really early days in the season but we need to take all the information we get. Turning game around is helpful in a season but we cannot rely on it, we cannot.

"We have to play better in the first half of games generally. We are not stable yet, that is not possible. Too many things are new. I am ready to work on that and the boys are too. They did not want to wave the white flag and that is good. When you win the lesser good games you can have a good season. The boys reacted really well."

Jurgen Klopp said his Liverpool side could not play worse in the opening half against Wolves but praised the second-half fightback which earned a 3-1 win.

maybe… we’ll see, very early in a 46 game season :)

After going 1-0 down at half time it was an impressive comeback by L'pool. The second half was a massive improvement compared to the first one.

Only if FSG allow Jurgen to reinvest that money in the transfer market to at least replace Salah if not better it. That is my main concern.

Liverpool XI to face LASK in the Europa League: Kelleher, Bajcetic, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas, Endo, Gravenberch, Elliott, Doak, Diaz, Nunez.

@Amjid Javed Its a shame you wont be joining us and instead be knocked out in the group stages. There is no pride when you have less chance of wining the CL than you did winning the League with points in the bank. :)

Now lets leave the trolling on this thread or I will can return the favour in the Arsenal thread.

The UEFA cup is the only major cup Klopp hasnt won, it would complete the collection, which other managers apart from Pep can only dream of.

Good solid team chosen. A good win should be the case tonight.

🤣🤭 your losing 1-0 at HT, you better hope you turn it around 🤣🤭

Nothing new for us. lol.

Lask playing some decent footie but will be blown away in the 2nd half :salah
Looks like you might avoid going on a mamoon type hiding holiday 🤭. 2 quick goals has helped you

Liverpool keep on getting the results.

3-1 against West Ham today and up to second place.

Salah doing the business every week.

They sorted there midfield in summer, going forward they will score goals. This is why I predicted they would finish 2nd this season

Dominik Szoboszlai's stunning second-half strike helped Liverpool come from behind to beat Leicester City in the Carabao Cup third round.

Kasey McAteer gave Leicester the lead just three minutes in as the Championship leaders hit their Premier League hosts on the counter-attack.

Liverpool pushed hard for a leveller, with youngsters Harvey Elliott and Ben Doak rattling the woodwork and Jarell Quansah thwarted by Jakub Stolarczyk.

Cody Gakpo was the man who got the Reds' equaliser with a well-taken finish just after half-time, having earlier been denied by Conor Coady's goalline clearance.

It was then the Dutch forward's turn to strike the woodwork, as his header hit the bar following good build-up play from Doak and Elliott.

Szoboszlai edged Liverpool ahead when, moments after being introduced as a second-half substitute, he arrowed an unstoppable shot in off the crossbar.

Leicester looked to respond as they sought a first victory at Anfield since 2000, but incessant pressure from the hosts eventually told with a third goal.

A nonchalant flick from Diogo Jota put the result beyond doubt as the 2022 winners reached the fourth round.

Liverpool: FSG agree to sell minority stake in club worth £82-164m to Dynasty Equity.

Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have agreed to sell a minority stake in the club worth between £82m and £164m to global sports investment firm Dynasty Equity.

The deal ends the search for new investment by FSG, who wanted to retain majority ownership of the Reds.

The new investment will primarily be used to pay off the club's bank debt.

"Our long-term commitment to Liverpool remains as strong as ever," said FSG president Mike Gordon.

"We have always said that if there is an investment partner that is right for Liverpool then we would pursue the opportunity to help ensure the club's long-term financial resiliency and future growth."

Red Card for Curtis Jones and Liverpool down to 10 men against Tottenham. There are still 63 minutes left in the game. Can Tottenham capitalise

And somehow, Liverpool equalized just before the end of halftime despite being a man down. They even had a chance to go 2-1. The 2nd half is going to be a cracker

Liverpool do have firepower to keep scoring goals

Very lazy and dangerous by Curtis. A real shame as we would have won this match easily.

Spurs should win this but LFC could also take the 3 points. Draw looks likely to me now.

Allison keeping you in the game, I can see you scoring a 2nd at other end

Ali is a colossus, you have to put it in the corners to get past him.

Klopp will attempt another trick as he did against Newcastle. Nunez and Elliot to come on but scrapp that , another REd! :ROFLMAO:

If we win this from here, it will be bigger than Newcastle and Barca together! lol

yeah, he had a yellow so he wants to play it extra safe in that regard as well

Mac Allister also on a Yellow., needs to be careful.

Its strange to say but when you have two sent off with 15 mins to go, you have to continue to be physical, as it breaks up the play.

A point here is like a win for sure.

How you didnt beat this spurs team at home ? lol

10 mins and we can get same result(draw) with 9 men.

Tbf we are lucky Son is not on the pitch.
Because we wasted 2 sitters at 1-0 and then brought 2 donkeys on at HT in havertz and Jorginho. So we played 2nd half with 9 men, just like your playing with 9 men now

The referee must think he's playing poker with number of cards his given out

wowwwww own goal with 30 secs left. Tottenham 2, Liverpool 1

Brutal ending !

Oh well, LFC gave it their all, well played boys after being 2 men down.

We will crush this team at Anfield.!

Good City lost , our rivals. ;)

Only 3 points between 1st and 6th - crammed at top

Still way too early. December is when the race will be in full motion.

I dont think the title winner will lose only 2-3 matches, could be 4-6 this season.

City, LFC and Arsenal playing each other will be the crucial matches. If LFC can take 9 points out of 12 from these matches, they will be up there, the same goes for Arsenal.

As an Arsenal fan I am gutted with Tottenham's' result...

No one discussing VAR and the diss allowed Liverpool goal which was clearly onside. Even the first red card was debatable as he was going for the ball, absokutrly no malicious intent and it was a very low tackle.

Agreed team won't be seen in a title race unless they are still there come end of February. The reason I say February rather December is because I think the main teams will have to contend been back in Europe.

Also in jan-feb - Arsenal and Liverpool will be missing key players at Afcons and Asia cup and that will have impact on team as well.

A lot of teams are getting more injuries now which will effect teams performances. But yeah clashes between top sides will help decide title.

1st red card was a red. People seeming to think thar unless u break someone's leg it's not a red. We don't need another eduardo, diaby type scenario. Such tackles need to be punished.

On the offside goal yeah that was a disgrace.

I get you bro but Liverpool are obviously superior to Spurs, so this result is better for us. And the red cards will weaken them more too, going away to Brighton next. Spurs will get what's coming after that offside disgrace, what goes around comes around.

No it was 100pct not a definite red.
The still photo that the ref was shown made it look far worse then it actually was.

I'm not so sure.
Liverpool will be absolutely fired up now, against a Brighton side that's just been smacked by Villa.

Also a good chance Jyota's red May be overturned. That first yellow was never a yellow.

Forget the still photo he caught him on the shin. Was just as bad as nketitah last week which he got away with
