khushdil is trash. I would have picked even Maaz Sadaqat in place on him.

Rizwan's biggest test would be to play with Faheem and Khushdil. I think Khushdil might do an okaish job but I have no high hopes for Faheem. He might not get all the games anyways... Khudil and Salman can bowl 10 overs, saud and kamran can also bowl so no need for faheem.

Rizwan is gonna get tested now
 
So home ground a meaningless triseries and then the chance to etched your name in cricketing history, is Rizwan up for the challenge specially Rizwan the batsman knowing that flamboyant Usman Khan is waiting in dugout and Shan Masood also vying for more leadership given his ielts certified English.

That's always on the card. Even possible with Rauf. But at least we have a few options. If we go in with 5 fulltime bowlers our batting will become significantly weaker.


Really comes down to pitch conditions and how Rizwan handles the bowling changes for part timers.
 
Rizwan should not play Faheem for now... Go with Khushdil shah, Salman, Saud for some overs. can replace khushdil with faheem if needed but not now

Here's an idea, how about rizwan not play himself at no 4?

That way you can actually try usman khan or kamran ghulam as an opener this series to see if it works or not and experiment.

And you won't disturb saud at 4, Babar at 3?

Why is it not practical? You all have the memory of a gold fish.

In 2023 aka our last odi tournament, Pakistan's biggest issue was an unsettled 11.

The whole fakhar is injured is a tired excuse that's been used till the end of time, find a new one. The truth is despite scoring 3 back to back centuries, Pcb panicked due to fakhar's poor form in cpl, Nepal, India and a poor showcasing in warmup games where Australia was bowling with the likes of Warner.

Hence these geniuses decided to take Abdullah instead and that created possibly the worst opening pair in Pakistan history, 2nd only to shehzad and jamshed.

Then pcb never figured out how to fit saud and agha into the squad before they realised after they had been booted out of the world cup that they should have played both of them.

Currently before CT you don't have an extra opener, Meaning one or Babar, Kamran, Saud or Usman Khan has to open followed by the fact that no 5 has to be adjusted and their question marks on bowling combination.

^^ When does pcb intend to figure this out? After we are booted out of CT?

LOL... You want to adjust USman who has not played a single ODI and perform like he did in T20 world cup?? You want him to debut once again in a tournament Just because rizwan is on the other side???

RIzwan just defeated Australia south Africa at their own backyard... Trust him

No I want them to test and try options in tri series and determine the ideal combination.

Fifty for Rizwan at a crucial juncture of the match against South Africa in the third match of the Tri-Nation ODI series. He needs to speed up as at this strike rate, the chase will collapse anyway. Currently at 51*(66)
 
How is it possible for Rizwan to play without getting cramps?

Rizwan's innings has been a captain's knock. He definitely wants to play in the final of the Tri-Nation ODI Series.

He brought up his century in style by hitting a six against South Africa in the 3rd match of the Tri-Nation ODI Series.

if he can play consistent knocks like this one will easily be one of the best mans in ODI but goes missing far too many times.
 
Good sensible match winning inning. I still enjoyed more the inning he kept cramping up, thora thora cramp thora thora drama.

Rizwan should bat at opening or at 5/6/7.. it's not viable keep 50 overs then bat through innings, or he should give up keeping.. no.4 is too high for a WK..

And who should keep if he gives up keeping? Both usman and rizwan can't play in the same squad, theirs no space to adjust Usman.

He has 6 FC wickets. He’s not a bowlers. Anyone can do the job that Khushdil does with the ball…anyone

But didn't Misbah play until his mid-40s? But I guess he is an exception because as we know Rizwan, Inzamam and others are no match for him.

Eventually after 2-3 years his form will be impacted.

Misbah playing till mid 40s was a feat itself, because by 2011 even i thought that 2013 champions trophy would be his last tournament and will hang his boots. That fact that he played till 2017 was something no one could had predicted.

Its all about form, if rizwan can keep on performing well than yes he can play till 40

Rizwan won't decline at 34 or 35. He'll play till 37 to 39.

He's not a reactions based or timing based players, he plays the ball late or early with late cuts, Slog sweeps, and pre mediated sweeps against spin. Unless he loses fitness, he won't decline in the sense that kohli declined.

Kohli relies on reactions and pure timing which is non existent for him at his age.

Misbah went to 40+ cause he isn't a timing based player either. However rizwan will need to vacate his t20 opening spot.

Opening is reactions based role and rizzu's t20 opening form is clearly going down the drain. He'll be fine in the middle for pk in odi and tests

Name 2 3 bowlers who can do this role as of now
Shadab and nawaz are severely out of form or else they d be in team

Why do oppositions not always play their full strength teams against us. Makes it hard to judge whether it was due to weak bowling or actual masterclass.
 
Consistent performances like these might help keeping a few smartmouths quiet. or maybe not.
 
He's becoming Inzamam Ul Haq 2.0 with the way hes making out that the teams performance are being granted by high spiritual powers etc.... getting cult like soon

Yep. Rizwan doesn't rely on reflexes and timing as other players. Babar may retire earlier than Rizwan.
