Nehle pe delha appointing his business partner as ambassador. He is the son of stockbroker-turned-banker Jahangir Siddiqui and also a close relative of Mir Shakeel (Geo/Jang owner).

The federal government has decided to appoint Ali Jahangir Siddiqui, son of prominent businessman Jahangir Siddiqui, as Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, DawnNewsTV reported on Thursday.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi approved the appointment, sources said. Ali had been serving Abbasi as a special assistant, advising the prime minister on economic and business matters.

Siddiqui is chairman of JS Bank Ltd and son of stockbroker-turned-banker Jahangir Siddiqui.

He has previously been a director in Airblue — which is also connected to the prime minister's family — Lucky Cement, Azgard Nine, and numerous other companies.

He will replace Aizaz Chaudhry in Washington, a career diplomat who previously served as foreign secretary before being appointed the ambassador to the US.

Chaudhry's career as a foreign service officer spans 36 years of multilateral and bilateral experience. He served as foreign secretary of Pakistan from December 2013 to March 2017, and previously served as spokesperson of the foreign ministry.

In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chaudhry had served as additional foreign secretary of UN and disarmament affairs, and as director general of relations with South Asian countries.

Chaudhry's other overseas assignments include Pakistan's deputy permanent representative to the UN in New York and as ambassador to the Netherlands.

Nepotism at EVERY level possible and then we wonder why we are in such a mess.

Khaqan Abbassi has really disappointed me personally

He has decent education and saw success in his career (engineering) off his own accord. So real disappointment at him being such a big darbari

I also read a Newz which was in favour of his AirBlue, can’t reacall what it was about but had something to do with neptoism?

PIA's flights to NYC are being discontinued

and interestingly Air Blue is starting flights for that route

Just imagine if a PTI govt had done 1% of the corruption of the Nooras and the PPP, there would be outrage from us ALL. But with the Nooras this is the norm and no one even bats an eyelid. Mamoon waleed88

His sister has become senator on PMLN ticket and his airline Air Blue has taken over NY route from PIA. He was already involved in LNG scandal but nothing will come out till they are in power and even when they go it's all a conspiracy against them.

but but he is qualifed and is anti army and and loves geo ..etc etc blah blah..I would go as far as to say appointments like this represent a security threat to the nation..but alas.

Its all a conspiracy against Imran Khan and his great jihad against corruption, amidst multiple marriages

Marriage is his personal matter and he hasn’t done anything impermissible in that regard. If you want to have a go at him, at least come up with some reasoanble stuff.

No its a conspiracy against poor Pakistanis by thieving by Nooras backed by complete idiots. The fact that you cant even condemn such blatant corruption shows your poor poor morals.

You expect a reasonable reply by a guy that makes NS look clever.

Yes which is why our establishments wants our people protected from imminent Indian threat and they take 50% of our text money so army generals can enjoy the perks of acres of land, memberships in gymkhanas and foreign investment of money owning house in Long Island, Dubai Palms and Central London...

The only reason this country was made is to serve the army and not the other way round.

Please correct your facts.

This country has been harmed most by the army, the bureaucrats and the judiciary. On no.4 its the poltiicians. But sure live in your own bubble created for you by Khan Sahab, since retired generals and army barracks have given their blessings to him

I said 'amidst multiple marriages' - he has had 3. Its a factual statement with no malice involved. It is a fact that he got married twice and I am only stating that. I never added any other statement to this statement.

IK owes nothing to the Army your duffer and his brother owe everything to the army. Your knowledge is so poor that i had to school you on Gen Asghars case, i had to teach that Gen Zia was the patron saint of the Sharifs, i had to explain to you who Gen Gilani was.
You think that blabbing a few words about the establishment means something shows that like the Noora Godfather, you have a Paarchi and just read off it.

Please research on who was responsible for his Jalsas in 2011, and who funded and backed him during that time in rallies and jalsas... our very own Shuja Pasha. The savior of raymond davis that is his other name.

Then it was pretty obvious from the 2014 Dharnas, when General Raheel Sharif went personally to meet Imran Khan in containers who was trying to do what with the Pakistani politics.

Puppets have come and gone, but no one has been as unsuccessful as Imran Khan in that aspect. Atleast Zia invested in someone who was capable and shrewd enough to become a PM twice despite after a few years of army support.

Imran has been constantly backed, supported and funded by them with constant failures.

Touted to be Musharraf's right hand man, and PM in his earlier years, he found no better shortcut than that, ofcourse his party wasn't big enough so he was a nobody back then and he would be a puppet PM, which wasn't acceptable to him then but it is now.. since he atleast has some mandate that he won't be a direct yes man to the establishment.

Conveniently forgetting Khan himself had very close relations with Zia and was offered ministership before his demise, after he retired from the World Cup...

His family has well known army connections, with Burki and Niazi clan having well reputed armymen in the ranks, our very own jackal and traitor 'general niazi' who surrendered to the mukti bahini and Indian army while fighting against them in Bangladesh is part of his 'noble clan' too.

So there goes your history lesson that Nawaz has been the only one benefitted from the establishment, when your very own Niazi has benefitted from them for over 30 years, including the last years of his cricket captaincy - on personal request of the president to carry on playing for the country

Not more conspiracies. Nooras steal from the poor and then claim conspiracy when they get caught. Show the receipts. I dont need to research anything at your suggestion because like anything you write its complete rubbish. You need to research who created your God father and you might understand that you dont actually dont understand anything.

"PTI wants caretaker PM to declare void Siddiqui's appointment as US envoy"

The letter, penned by PTI's spokesperson Fawad Chaudhary, said that Siddiqui is "facing NAB cases" and to make him an ambassador is equivalent to the "murder of national interest."

A combined investigation team of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore had on April 18 interrogated Siddiqui for over an hour in an alleged embezzlement case.

Earlier this month, NAB's Karachi chapter had also appealed to the Sindh High Court to place Siddiqui's name on the Exit Control List due to an ongoing investigation in multiple corruption cases against him.

It is depressing to see educated people are still falling for this Naya Pakistan scam. I suppose they deserve to be fooled because they have completely compromised their sensibilities.

Pathetic decision there is no justification for this for me it's same if he is appointed as ambassador for US or for Investment.

Thank you for admitting it. There is still hope for sensible people like you - this tabdeeli drama will end soon. Millions of people have been sold a fake manifesto and have been taken for a ride.

As i always mentioned in past and it's well documented on PP that i support IK and PTI not because i see a messiah in him it's because imo PTI/IK are lesser of three evils (PMLN,PTI,PPP) and democracy is all about picking the lesser evil from the available choice because there are no angels so i will stick with my choice and will appreciate them when they do good work and will criticize them when they fail until a better choice appear on our political scene so for now if the elections are held today my vote will still goes to PTI.

This is stupid decision and can't be defended. If he was Corrupt yesterday, he is Corrupt today. Can someone get hold of senior PTI people and if it's IK, then give him an earful.

You basically repeated what other PTI supporters have countless times.

And ended this thread

I just don’t understand why his false attention seeking critics keep calling him messiah? AstagfirAllah

You need to realise that democracy in Pakistan will never flourish as long as the military is calling the shots from the backdrop. Today, Imran Khan is the boot polisher in chief, yesterday it was Nawaz. Tomorrow, it will be someone else.

That is why a lot of people gave up on PTI and Imran Khan once it became obvious that they were doing the establishment's bidding.

PTI is no different from other parties, and history is simply repeating itself. That is why this whole tabdeeli and Naya Pakistan drama is meaningless.

When was he convicted?

It's not a matter of conviction- we were told that the guy is Corrupt and the chances are that any friend Abbasi will be Corrupt. If then suddenly he is getting ambassadorial roles then it needs to be revealed as to why? What do they know now, that they didn't know at the time?

Basically he is not convicted and you are assuming all this. He founded JS bank, is one of the most successful entrepreneur in Pakistan and recently joined Afiniti as members of the advisory board(many prominent names in that board --> https://www.afiniti.com/team?filter=Advisory).

He has been selected because he is competent

That may be the case but if you vilify someone for being Corrupt and then a few months later he doesn't become halal.

Actually JS Bank has been discredited for being a front for money laundering, JS stands for Jehangir Siddiqui who is this person's father. It's like appointing Bilawal as chairman NAB while Zardari is under investigation.

Yet to be proven about JS

Pathetic decision, shameful and hypocrisy by PTI. There is no justification and i am not just saying it as face saving. I have already tagged PTI leaders in social media and criticised anyone trying to justify this madness.
You can't turn someone into villain and then award them another post when you are in government, whoever made this decision should be ashamed. Some PTI official "Azhar Leghari" tried to justify by claiming Jahangir has brought lot of investment, PTI supporters are trolling him for pathetic excuse since PMLN might have appointed him on similar basis so why did we criticise them??

Again, moaning without giving any solution within the parameters of reality and ground reality.

The reality is, everyone from young to old, PTI supporters to non supporters knows that IK have blessing of establishment and are against corrupt family dynastic politician.

But other reality is that, this is the only way forward to better the Pakistan’s democracy while taking Pakistan out of the biggest national security, weak and pathetic economy.

Now, what is your solution to your repeated moaning.

Please do not reply with, “the solution is, having NS and Zardari back in power”.

This is a really poor decision by PTI and i already raised my voice on social media just like many other PTI supporters because we are not nooras or jialas to defend every act of party blindly and party also knows it so they also change decisions when supporters pressurize them and they do listen to us. Unfortunately this type of attitude doesn't exist in PPP or PMLN and their supporters are so blind to criticize the acts of leadership because they worship the leadership and see sharif and bhutto clan as a mesiah

Awkward moment when Mamoon Mr. Patriot bumped this thread hoping to bash PTI, IK and most importantly PTI supporters on PP but it backfired and all supporters are agreeing with him :)))

PTI supporters do not worship IK or anyone in PTI for that matter, they are loyal to the country not to any single personality. Might come as a surprise to those who consider receiving Nawaz at airport is akin to performing Hajj :asad1:viru

The opinion of cult members doesn’t even matter. For every one blunder of Kaptaan that they defend, they justify a hundred.

It doesn’t matter how they perceive this news. What matters is that Imran continues to prove that he is a con-artist who is taking millions for a ride.

PTI is the perfect description of what a cult is like.

“a system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object.”

Sir, with all due respect, you do not speak for me or any other Pakistani, so there is now “our”.

For you to be separated from reality for God knows whatever reason should be worrisome for your own self.

And, finally, you haven’t provided a solution with in the parameter of reality of Pakistan, you’ve Again moaned and complaint.

You have no solution because you have never given a thought as to how to solve Pakistan’s problem, you have always complaint as it is evident by your comments history and that could be due to many factors as many other posters previously highlighted.

Your inability to provide solution within the parameter of reality of Pakistan highlights that you are for the sake of the criticism and for the sake of complaining.

You also saw bright future for Maryam when she was talking about vote ko izzat do and voter ko zaleel kro and now you left her and switched to Bilawal? You are a confused person if after all this education you can't vote by your own choice and had to vote for PTI because mum said so

According to Rauf Klasra, he is appointed by the Pakistan Army

They either take the decisions or approve them, so he is speaking the truth.

Imran Khan would never pick business partner of SKA. He hates N league and its close aide. It makes sense that he has chosen by Pakistan Army, and Imran had no say.

And you then complain about IK being "selected" for the PM position by the army? Even if that is true, IK has done more in one lifetime on his own merit. What has Bilawal ever done other than give English speeches?

Bilawal has been put in a position that he didn't ask for. His mother died when he was 19 and he was immediately pushed into the limelight. It is not his problem that he inherited PPP, but what he does with it will define his legacy. I think he has not been allowed to grow politically because of the shadow of his father. Without his shadow, I think he has a bright future. He comes across as mature, sensible and makes some very good points. I think he has a very strong chance of becoming the PM in 2023.

I asked you twice in some other thread where you might have ignored my question - I will ask again: why did you vote for PTI last year?

According to the AGP a trillion rupees has been stolen from Sindh in the time he has been leader of the PPP, maybe you can ask what happened to all this money? Maybe you can ask him what the achievements of his govt are in that time? Maybe you can ask what qualifies him to lead a party? You could ask him about daddy or auntie, or why Sindh is a mafia state? You could ask him about why MR was allowed to steal land ( with the connivance of his daddy) land worth 350bn+, you could ask why Naqeebullah was murdered by the guy they protect, or happened to the wheat or Sugar depots, you could ask this lad why he moans that the NAB CHAIRMAN is selective in his accountability and then doesn't want him replaced, you could ask him why his party has taken PK to the IMF 4 times. And the list goes on and on.

I asked you twice in some other thread where you might have ignored my question - I will ask again: why did you vote for PTI last year?

I post from my phone which is why I don’t get notifications, so I often miss posts. Apologies for that.

I voted for PTI in 2013 because I was a genuine supporter at that time, and I voted for PTI last year because of my state of confusion.

I didn’t really know who to vote for, but I was adamant that no matter, I will vote because the person who doesn’t vote has no right to make his/her opinion heard.

Come election day, I fell victim emotional rhetoric and the pleas of people around me (family, friends), who are hardcore PTI supporters and some of them are still brainwashed.

However, I am glad to an extent that I voted for PTI. This circus deserves to be exposed and humiliated at the federal level, and I am happy I played my part.

Anyway, I will not repeat the same mistake again and that is why I have already decided that I will vote for PPP in the 2023.

Can ppp change this establishment?

Can they decrease Army power in all matters of country?

Can ppp change this establishment?

Can they decrease Army power in all matters of country?

They were in power 4 times (twice without getting kicked out immediately) but nothing changed #JustSaying

Bibi was happy to see Nawaz being kicked out by Mush and Bibi was also happy to fully support Talibans in Afghanistan.

Zardari was happy to give extension to COAS Kayani

Z Bhutto was on board with Establishment too

So let's see how Bilawal is different from rest of the family because sitting in opposition it's easy to target establishment. So far his party is ruling in Sindh for 11 years and the poor guy can't even stop Papa from stealing more....

They can’t. Bilawal and co. oppose the establishment now, but once the establishment starts to back them, he and his party will change their stance.

This is essentially what happened with Imran. He was one of the biggest critics of Pakistan Army and their role in our politics, but he took a complete U-turn once they threw him a carrot.

The only way forward is for our people to change their mentality and perception. The vast majority are still brainwashed by the military propaganda and think that they are the true guardians of the state.

Politicians are people too, and if we can collectively change our mentality, we will be able to transform and develop as a nation over the next 30-40 years. However, I don’t see that happening which is why I only see darkness in our future.

Still, I would vote for PPP with the teeny tiny hope that they will show more spine than PTI, and Bilawal will prove to be less of a boot polisher than Imran.

Oh yess we have seen what the great billo rani has done in Sindh.

PTI is the perfect description of what a cult is like.

“a system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object.”

So after all the PTI supporters condemn the appointment, good old Mamoon still goes on with his usual vendetta calling it cult and same old argument which we have heard million times.

Nothing against Mamoon but this is why i don't take his posts seriously and ignore 90% of essays because regardless of what you say/do he has his own unique attention grabbing ways instead of proper argument :)

What confusion? You bashed Khan and PTI non-stop for 5 years and then fell to brainwashing on election day by your friends. Ok cool story :yk

Whatever state Khan has found himself in was handed over to him of 70 years of competence. And now you expect miracles? He is not perfect, but who is?

What has Bilawal done in Sindh? Let me tell you: he has done zilch, nothing, nada.

Confusion in terms of which party to vote for.

We don't expect miracles from Imran and PTI, but we expect him a sense of direction and a framework for long-term planning. People have blind faith in him and will defend and support everything, but the reality is that his government has been a circus so far. He has surrounded himself with the same incompetent people who have contributed to our failures in the past. Asad Umar was the only new face in a high profile position, and he was sacked after 8 months in spite of PTI supporters defending his performance.

Imran has inherited a mess, but based on what we have seen so far, he is more likely to worsen the mess rather than find a solution.

He has done one thing in the last 10 years- yes you guessed it- helped to steal a cool trillion from the poor of Sindh.

The Mess from NS, AZ and Billo. And you think that after Billo has stolen a trillion he is your man, WORDS FAIL ME!!
