Prime Minister's XI v England - Canberra

if they gave him one more over he would surely break the record for most runs given up
This could be the most runs given in a spell of 9 overs :)) :)) Sadly it doesn't count because its not an official ODI :6:

Good innings by Jacques, another reason why he should be opening ahead of Watson or Katich!

Well yet another limited overs game and another shameful defeat for england!

They should quit playing short version of game!

:))) :))) :))) :))) :))) :)))

Thanks Saj, you can take your plane home now. Hopeless performance by England but i'm not looking into it too much. We've taking bashings in warm up matches in nearly every away tour. Just good to see Flintoff got 10 overs under his belt.

Tait looked good. I think the ball that got Flintoff was 150.8 Km/h. Not bad at all.

Complete rubbish. I'm trying not to read too much into it because we always play like mongs in the practice games, but it's embarassing to wake up to scorecards like that.

Why did Flintoff allow Panesar to bowl only 3 overs? Looks like he wants Giles in the team!

p.s that Jaques guy is a class act :19:

God, this Ashes series will be no contest. Even our prime ministers XI can thrash England lol, so just imagine what pain our best XI would inflict upon them. If your an English fan, stay well clear of the ground, T.V and news...hahah

shaun tate looked really pacy..man aussies got some major pace riches at the moment..johnson,tait,lee...

Not worried about the result.

Worried that we chose to bowl on a belter. Worried that Panesar was given his usual "opportunity" when Freddie is captain. Why wasn't Strauss picked as captain? I think we've won two matches in any form of the game with Flintoff as the captain.

Oh, and I'm worried that we chose to play a One-Day game, when we're rubbish at them, and would blatantly lose.

And Trescothick looks absolute rubbish - the Cook/Bell/Collingwood debate may soon not be an issue if he carries on like this. Just push Cook up to where he belongs. Not sure who would bat at 3 though then.

Same old Geraint, too...

Beichara Saj. Awesome stuff by the PM's XI. Well, its not going to get any worse so the only way is up from here

personally i thinkl strauss is a better captain..and i liked how how he used monty..freddy just doesnt seem that clever as a captain...i fear the aussies are gonna unleash major vengeance on england in this series!!

ENG lost the warm up in SA yet won the series then they lost the warmup in PAK but still should have won the 1st test so i am not going to read too much in to this result however Jacques and Tait deserve a lot of credit!

If he keeps doing this eventually the muppets in charge will have no choice but to pick him.

Re: the game, good hitout for the PMs. But the Poms were likely rusty. They normally take a long time to wind themselves up.

Some things never change, eh? Like this:

"Kevin Pietersen looked like he'd left an important part of his brain somewhere in a field in Hampshire." (Rob Smyth)

The PM XI game is a traditional game that's always been played against a touring side though. As for Panesar, I reckon Flintoff was hiding him from the OZ, the way the OZ sometimes hide Warne if he has this "great new delivery he's been working on".

He is a great player but a nob head. He only seems to be up for it when there is 1 or 2 fantastic bowlers to play against, especially when they are a spinner. He plays like a donkey when he is actually required to apply himself and treat 'lesser' bowlers with respect.

Good points on Fred's captaincy too, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. A lot can still happen ahead of the 1st test (and it had better do!)

They are saving him so he can unleash his newly-developed doosra on you in Brisbane :P

JUst read in sports section of Times that Tait hit a top speed of 95 mph which is 152.9 kph :O :O
