Fawad Alam, the most consistent First-class batsman for us ever, has finally made it into a test team. Looking forward to his Pak A performance.

But why is the game only two days? 3 or 4 days should have been given to both practice games
 
Ali Asad, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khurram Manzoor, Umar Amin and Sami Aslam are not good selections!

Mohammad Rizwan must have been given practice instead of Adnan Akmal!

Should have opted for batsmen with better FC stats!

May be there are no more with better FC stats :mv

Usman Salauddin is someone very solid I've heard. Needs to be groomed over these average players

Why its 2 day match? Why it couldnt 3 day? Asking as 2 day is too short to Test. May Eng play 1.5 day or vice versa then what left for other team.

Ali Asad and Iftikhar Ahmed are selected because they had a tremendous First class season last year both were in the Top 5 run scorer list. Ali Asad went with Pak A to SRL and performed decently with average in 40's.

We are playing 2 2-day games :)

And Salahuddin is a class class act.

Absolute joke that Babar Azam will miss this.

Keen to see Mir Hamza to do well. Want one of Zafar or Aghar to do well enough to displace Babar.
 
Shafiq should have been playing in, and captaining this game rather than being in the ODI squad.

That's probably what they'll play in the first Test too.
 
Misbah is also included for the Pakistan A team according to news

So who is the captain? Junaid or Misbah?
 
Cricinfo is showing Junaid Khan as the captain; despite having Misbah-ul-Haq's name on the list.

Apart from that and equally importantly, he gets to see the youngsters and backups up close. A few of them esp spinners might end up playing in the actual series.
 
How many times has Moeen Ali gotten out in the last 30 minutes according to Cricinfo? :))) :)))

Nice to see Misbah in the team. He definitely needs some practice for the test series.

Perhaps, but Bell is badly out of form these days. Need to watch the video of the over to see if Junaid bowled well or if its his usual rubbish trundling.

I think Junaid was never as good as some people say, but he isn't as bad as you say.
In tests, he often balls a good line and lenght, even when not in form. He should be told to not try to bowl short with his pace on these tracks and I think it will be fine.

Bell will have to help Root in this series. Root is going to be the top batsman but alone he can't do everything.
It will also be interesting to see how Stokes plays in these conditions.

He was good in 2013 but he has only gone downhill since. At the moment, he does not deserve to play in any format.

I don't mind him replacing Imran II on the bench, but Wahab and Rahat/Amir in the future should be our pace attack and if we need three pacers, only then can he be considered.

If Asif returns, then he is not even third-choice.

England should try and fit in James Taylor. I think he has the game to survive in these conditions, especially with Bell in poor touch.

And people consider Adnan the best wicket keeper.
 
Zafar Gohar has some real mongrel too which I really liked when he toured here with the U19 squad.

Won't be long before he is in team.
