Rivalry Diaries: Can Rohit Sharma affect Hardik Pandya's spot in the ICC T20I World Cup 2024 with the novice Shivam Dube?

Shivam Dube can bat well and bowl decently and certainly has no acrimonition with Indian captain Rohit Sharma. So can Rohit Sharma abuse his powers as captain to replace Mr Pandya with Shivam Dube in a move to exact revenge.

Also is this new guy Shivam Dube actually better than Mr. T20 specialist, Hardik Pandya. So what are your thoughts guys? Can the Rohit - Pandya rivalry benefit Dube or would it just spoil his promising career?

First of all iif they drop Pandya i will be very happy. No.1 slacker in Indian cricket. His game has rapidly declined at all levels. Posisbly due to lack of participation in domestic at all. Purely on merit Pandya has to be kicked out.

This padosi guy has gone mad.. a guy scored runs in 2 games and he is going crazy to make him a PM of India... differences aside but Hardik is a player which India would never want to miss in the World Cup squad.

Chennai Super Kings suffered their second consecutive defeat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 despite Shivam Dube continuing his splendid form with the bat. The all-rounder scored a whopping 24-ball 45 but his dismissal saw CSK restricted to 165/5 by Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday. While it was Abhishek Sharma whose blitzkrieg entertained fans the most in the match, it was Dube who received Yuvraj Singh's backing to be selected in Team India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad. The IPL is being seen as the ideal platform for Indian players to showcase their talent in the shortest format of the game, to warrant a place in the World Cup squad, and Yuvraj wants Dube to be on the roster.


Taking to social media on Friday, Yuvraj advocated for Dube to be selected for the Indian team for the showpiece event that takes place in June this year.

Lol... Some times I feel that indian fans are too moody and sentimental
Pandya is indeed a clutch player who performed in CT 2017 final and SF T20 WC 2022 when every other Indian player faltered.

Dube can't such replace him in my opinion.

As per media reports, The BCCI Selection Committee has a major concern with just 47 days to go for T20 World Cup 2024. The elephant in the room is Hardik Pandya. The vice-captain of the India T20 squad is currently enduring a poor run of form in IPL 2024. He hasn’t clicked with the bat, a 42-year-old MS Dhoni hammered him for 20 runs off four balls and Hardik hasn’t delivered as a captain either. Instead, the rumoured rift between Hardik and Rohit Sharma has added to the problems for Ajit Agarkar & Co.

India’s squad will be announced in the first week of May and that’s just 16 days away. That there is no like-for-like replacement for Hardik Pandya is a major concern. While selectors will be happy with how Shivam Dube has batted so far, he is not even close to replacing Hardik in India’s Playing XI.

Dube is a really good hitter but he can't provide the added value with the ball that Hardik provides to the Indian team. I don't see anyone replacing Hardik in the Indian side for the upcoming T20 World Cup unless he is injured.
