Afridi had always wanted to open but a Afridirock said it he wont open because he is playing 2 regular opener who want to open. Btw as far concerned to his cofidience regarding opening is that he was to open for Pakistan because they have been struggling with openers, he also told Malik about this but Malik never made him open an inningsPak_mystery said:Afridi has no confidence in himself so he wont open, which is so unfortunate realy...he cant even open in domestic matches which tells alot about his confidence

Are you in Karachi, if yes is it raining?asifp said:Ok guys, quick update,

I dont know if its the rain or not.
On a second note I am travelling to Lahore in an hour, so no updates till Monday from me.
Raz said:If this match is abandoned and the points are shared, then (assuming both Federal Areas and Sindh win their last two games) net run rate will decide who meets Punjab in the final.
Sparhawk said:Looks like they're gonna wait until 2:15 to see if there's a match today.
Shoaib Akhtar being interviewed on Geo Super.
Sindh is ahead on run rate but Federal Areas have another match and Shoaib is confident that they can get ahead of Sindh because they will have a set target.
Shoaib has been working very hard on his fitness over the last month or so (his words) and is feeling lighter on his feet. He's very disappointed that India aren't touring.
And the punchline, he has lost 10 kg.
Raz said:Did he look 10kg lighter?
Sad we cant see them in finals eitherSavak said:No Afridi vs Akhtar contest. Sad but i predict Afridi would have won easily.
minhasuz said:Even though I am from Punjab I never wanted Punjab to be in Finals because Malik is leading them, I wanted Federals and Sindh. I hoe Punjab doesnt win the final because if they do then Malik might remain as a captain of Pakistan because he lead Stallions to victory in RBS 20/20

Pak fans amaze me - so the guy has lead his team to a 20/20 win and may lead them to a One Day win and thats a bad thing?????
kingusama92 said:LOL i was gonna say the same thing. What can the guy possibly do to improve his image within the Pakistani fans?? He's proving that his captaincy is amazing with the way he lead his T20 team and now his ODI team. Sure, he has a strong ODI team to work with but just look at how all the strong teams lost in the T20 cup we just finished. You have to get the players to play together as a team and he has done that extremely well. Also, positive comments from the seniors are starting to come now regarding his captaincy in the last West Indies series. So obviously he's trying and we can't ask for more.
blinding light said:Fully agreed. As of late, he has shown considerable improvement in his captaincy. His approach is becoming more positive but he still needs to stop runs from flowing in the middle overs. He has started to contribute both with bat and ball and finally the Pakistan team is beginning to LOOK like a team..
And as far as Afridi is concerned, then I have noticed one thing about his captaincy, something you can either love, or hate. He wants specialists to play. I personally think that this is a very professional approach, to let two specialist openers open the innings, having a specialist spinner in the squad (Saeed Ajmal) etc. Maybe, just maybe (I'm only assuming), he was not letting Fawad Alam open because previously, there was no room for him in the middle order, so he came in late, and just because he's a middle-order batsman, Malik prolly didn't want him to open to get the "opener stamp" on him.. So that we prolly couldn't produce another Yasir Hameed..
And I see Federal Areas winning this match
Savak said:Results have shown Malik in a favorable light. He did lead the team to a 3-0 victory against the West Indies but we will still find issues he needs to improve drastically if we discuss his captaincy in that series in detail.
Lets just wait and see if Malik finally shows improvement as captain or not.
