Somerset vs Pakistanis | Tour Match | Taunton | Jul 3rd-5th, 2016 | Day 2

Asked this, but might have got lost at the end of the previous page, apologies for repeat post:

Does anyone know the names of the commentators currently live on-air on BBC's commentary of this match?

You are Amir's biggest hatter, want to play Imran ahead of him, there has to be some shame left, switching sides so quickly [emoji849][emoji849][emoji849][emoji849]

I am not biased like most over here, the fact is Imran Khan is our best Test fast bowler on record.

Your favorite guy cannot face these third tier bowlers... You have to go through high school first before entering college[emoji47][emoji47][emoji47]

He isn't my favorite guy but he is still the best opener we have. It's easy to suggest a player to be dropped by a bit more difficult to suggest a replacement.

Hafeez isn't word class but we don't have have openers like Cook, Vijay and Warner waiting in the ranks. He is the best we have, people should make peace with it.

or indeed any of the other BBC commentators involved in this game.

I think Sohail may be used in short burst as he put lot of effort. I am not seeing wahab in lineup

1st spell must be for 7/8 overs as he is probably the best to bowl against Lefties & ENG should have 2 lefties in top 3. Besides, he uses new ball better than most. May be after that 4+3+3 & finally 5 with the 2nd new ball. He has to bowl 23 overs on Day 1, if not 25. This is the problem when team is built years together with absolute single dimensional players - 7 bats & 4 bowls. Misbah (PAK) got away with that in UAE, because of 2.5 spinners who used to bowl 140+ overs per Test on UAE dust bowl & this is nurtured in PAK domestics with 60 overs/day FC cricket - 4 bowlers can finish the day & then rest, batsmen also hardly rolls their arms. For a team like AUS or ENG or SAF/NZ, by this time YK would have almost 100 Test wickets - he didn't even bowl 100 overs, in ~100 Tests over 16 years career.

PAK A is proving against SRL A, what it means a No. 1, 2 & 3 in FC cricket - looking at the FC stats of Lankan bowlers, one can only feel sorry for Sharjeel & Fakher batting at 1 & 3 (& feel pity for Basit Ali, who dropped Asghar for Bilawal & Saud for one of those 2 hacks I mentioned - and he is the best available in Pakistan as batting "Coach").

Hafeez is oficially the worst new/swinging ball player (in my opinion).
Seriously, this guy is the worst!

this somerset batting lime-up is pretty good tho, and it's a pretty flat pitch

Apart from one or two, none of them are anywhere near international class. They will struggle to beat Zimbabwe in a 4 day game.

Pitch is flat but the gulf in the two teams is too big for the pitch to play a role. On a more spicy pitch, we will beat them in a day.

Now it's too late this series is wasted. But not invested in better quality players is where management made bad decisions.

I agree. Shehzad wouldve done ever worse and Sami Aslam is not ready. It would also be harsh on the youngster to make him open against Broad and Anderson in his first game.

Soft dismissal for Masood. Overall he hasnt had a bad game and has effectively shielded the middle order from the new ball which will be his job in the main games.

Opening problems continues.. We should try Sami Aslam.

Come on. Shan has done well. You can't expect 50s every innings. If you're talking about Hafeez then I guess I agree.

Next game we should try Sami Aslam and Hafeez because i think Shan has, in my opinion, earned his spot in the team. So whoever does well in that match goes along with Shan in the 1st test.

Ideally you'd have Naeemuddin and Azhar opening with Babar at 3. Once Misbah retires, Haris takes his spot.

We'll see on 14th :)))

You make it sound like I am some fan of this guy. I just want Pakistan to do well and since Shan WILL play the first Test no matter what we should support him. You don't want Hafeez you don't want Shan.Who should open then?

They all are bound to fail because they haven't had the experience to play in such conditions, I am of the opinion that we shouldn't make them heroes and raise our expectations beforehand because at the end of the day they are bound to fail in such conditions!

Always wondered why so many people on here only see in black and white. You can pitch ideas/players without them being used to define you.

Saw Naeemuddin some days back, don't know why selectors say he is not fit or he is over weight. He was slim than Sarfi and Sharjeel.

He's probably not friends with Misbah. If they can select Babar and Iftikhar, they can definitely select Naeemuddin.

Nevermind the commentators couldn't tell who came to the crease, it's Sarfraz so he should get some practice I guess.

Azhar should play some shots now because he might need to in the match. We cant lose from here

No bat the whole day today. Shouldnt tire the bowlers. One day is enough to get them all out. Besides Sarfraz and the tail need this half an hour of practice.

Yeah, at first they said that Younis came to the crease so I was like why

Both Misbah and Hafeez have struggled in both innings.

And this 'attack on bowlers' trick wouldn't work in ENG, specially when they'll be up against Anderson, Broad and Co.

Nah bro, no idea.

Found out - Isabelle Westbury; Simon Mann; Alan Gibson if anyone is interested :)

I got them to correct their error, they kept saying Hildreth played a chanceless innings, forgetting that he was dropped on 13. Yes, I am THAT annoying guy.

LoL, Mr 'Dhoka nahi da ga' is gone too.

Another one who would struggle along with :hafeez2 and :misbah

Pakistan will depend a lot on Shan, Azhar, YK and Asad on this tour.

Whatever, Misbah, Hafeez and Sarfi will do, I'll take it as bonus.

Haha, so did you forward your message to them, how?

Sadly Hafeez is pathetic but Sami Aslam's technique isn't really inspiring

I tried my best to respect your logic but I couldn't...seriously
Your logic is you don't want to expect anything good from someone new because(from time machine I think you saw that shan will fall) you have typical Pakistani mentality
My dad also doesn't expects anything good from our pak team predicting they gonna lose anyways which I hate
Have a good day

This is classic Hafeez Vs Styen, this time without any swing or pace [emoji84][emoji84][emoji84][emoji84]

If babar azam or m.rizwan hadn't performed nevertheless the result they would've been trolled here too like rahat ali who's the victim atm here

Great player of spin but hes getting over confident against spin these days

I agree with the part that once you expect something good you gotta stay patient and don't mourn he's garbage he's this and that after just one innings, but mostly people lose hope and do the latter
And here I've seen they make young players ATG's even before they've played any games and when they fail in few innings they just lose their minds no player is consisten at the start of the career every player need some time to establish our logic of shortcuts is the reason of our failures , success comes with time and constant efforts so our way of trying to find hacks and shortcuts isn't the way, we need to be patient and make these players reliable but this happens with time !

Azhar and Asad at the crease right now.....

This generation's Inzi-Moyo Pairing; albeit at a much much more modest level :D

My jaws are on the floor looking at Somerset's low score.

Never expected such a dominant performance from Pakistan in this tour game.

Must be a huge confidence boost.
