Also needs to stop imitating in making movements at the crease.
Smith is actually very still when the ball is delivered whereas this guy is still making all sorts of movements with the ball halfway down the pitch.
No wonder he's so late in getting into positions against the pacers

I was also surprised why they didn't take a review. That ball seemed to straighten after pitching.
Saud needs to move his front foot it's almost static

Northern states in India have taller people in general.

This knock is easily his best knock. The one vs England at home den and the one vs England overseas featured multiple drops + stamina issues and nervous moments.

I have my reservations about shan, but gotta give credit where its due. This is his best innings and since he has arrived he's ironically performed > Babar. Shan since his return has been a 25 to 29 avg test batter while Babar has basically been a 10 to 14 avg one at home.

Overseas shan has done better as well.

Shan's best inning was against Srilanka in 2015 when Pakistan chased down 382 comfortably and in which Shan scored 125 & Younis scored 171. Unfortunately no one remember that inning. Babar saved one test match against Australia at Karachi that's his only noticeable achievement
 
Pakistan batsmen must continue working hard. I hope Saud gets a 100 he was unlucky to miss a full toss to be out for 80 or so in the first test. Maybe that lbw is the luck he needs.

I'm not saying concussions are not a serious thing that don't demand attention. Just saying that oftentimes injuries can be even more serious than a concussion. And therefore, demand just as much attention. It's about looking at two things here, the players well-being and a team not getting punished for something they are not at fault for.
 
Give credit to Shan. He has played fantastically well and still out there. Hopefully he gets a double ton. If Pakistan manage to mow down the lead without the loss of any wickets than they can start dreaming, because then the pressure will really begin shifting on South Africa. Till then though South Africa are favorites to win comfortably.

Big phase coming up with the second new ball, which could be make or break for Pakistan.

Match was an innings defeat and remains that.

Fate was sealed when babar choked yesterday with 10 mins remaining in day.
 
What a chance for a historical win.

But most likely new ball will end this match.

Otherwise we need 280 more here to get SA worried.
 
RSA is a good team and way above Pak but they are levels below Australia and it shows.

I know there are no ifs & buts in life but If Pak had just made 2 fewer mistakes in the first test, we could have come out of this tour with a creditable draw (at least).

Pak cannot win this test & still they are so defensive. I mean Pak doesn't have any spin option unless you consider Hamza & Abbas as fast spinners but RSA look petrified to even chase at max 100 & have set up run saving fields. If you are not going to bully a team that has a 10-0 record against you in the last three series, who are you going to bully?
 
Adding to my post, Pak is playing 10 vs. 11 in this match so that's already a massive advantage.
 
Nitin Menon is as bad that BD umpire if not worst. Single handedly losing this game for SA

This saud is such a terrible batsman. Why is he so overhyped.
4ft saud should be kicked out.

Look at his feet movement and the way he plays short bowl.
He is awful garbage. He should be kicked out.
 
He failed everytime outside Asia apart from one knock.
Awful overrated overhyped 4ft timid loser.
