Amla gets his form back. AB "loses" it.
Exactly, lol.
Far cry from when Smith, Amla, Kallis and de Villiers were all scoring mountains of runs.
Please don't fail Duminy![]()
Time for Duminy to perform with the bat..BTW excellent stuff from Cook..
How do SA have a specialist batsman at #5, who averages 33 after playing 34 matches?

Duminy won't last against Bhai here.
I'd like to think Duminy is seriously underrated.
Pretty mediocre day for England overall. Not a surprise.
Done the English thing and taken the foot off the gas again.
We're too nice for our own good.
Watched Bavuma for the first time. Looks a quality batsman. Very uncomplicated technique.

Do we have any natural slip catchers anymore? It's a very underrated skill by many fans and can really make a difference. Strauss and particularly Swann are greatly missed for this.
Expecting three centuries from SA and a total over 500 in the first inning.
De kock in ODI mode here.
SA 466/8
De kock onto 122*
Cook finally scores some runs. Mamoon is relieved.
this series is the proof why England can never become true no. 1 side..
I think England lack ruthlessness. Even when they are on top, they will not kick you hard.
More important aspect is atrocious fielding.. It hurts when bowlers keep bending their backs just to be consistently let down by fielders..

Not much value to this innings because the series is dead and buried already, just like Hashim 'i chickened out from captaincy mid series like a coward' Amla's hundred yesterday was a nothing innings in the context of the series.
This match, like every test match, does matter. South Africa will climb up to #2 if they win this match and England will remain a mid-table team. You have my permission to weep.

Yes, I'm sure they will seek solace in climbing to number 2 after losing two high profile series in a row, with the captaining surrendering.
Note to batsmen: Don't attack Moeen Ali if you don't hold a Pakistani citizenship, he'll eventually embarrass you. Play him smartly like Amla does.
It does 'matter', but the legacy of the series will be one of a resounding win for England. In the three 'live' matches England got a credible draw and two massive wins. That's what people will remember - not anything about this match to be honest.
Lol I wouldn't mind if India lose dead rubber after series win in South Africa. Won't even matter if we ranked 10th in the ranking.
Sadly I don't think we have quality to win test series in either Australia or South Africa in my lifetime or maybe ever.
It's first world problem in cricket ie not being ruthless after securing away series win.
To say that England will still be ranked 5th whether they win the series 3-0, 2-0 or 2-1 against the number one ranked side in their own conditions shows how ridiculous the rankings are anyway.
Bilal7 is just again doing what he does in the majority of his posts - clutching at whichever straws are still available in an attempt to uphold the integrity of his generally moronic views.
Morning all. Big day ahead. Cook to possibly reach 10000 runs.
It is quite possible that Joe Root might as well be the greatest English batsman of all time.
