Australia won the toss and decided to field

South Africa: Smith (C), Gibbs, Kallis, de Villiers, Duminy, Boucher (W), van der Merwe, A Morkel, J Botha, Steyn, Parnell

Australia: Haddin (W), Clarke, Ponting (C), D Hussey, M Hussey, Ferguson, Hopes, Johnson, Harwood, Hauritz, Bracken

SA: 67-1 off 15 overs

Smith was the 1st man to fall - for 20. Hopes the bowler

70-1 off 16 overs

4th ODI / South Africa v Australia / Port Elizabeth,

S.A 70/1 after 16 overs.

Smith only wicket to fall for S.A at moment.

Gibbs 39* Kallis 6*

Pretty poor shot from smith but you expect those type of risks in power-plays!

Gibbs looks in good nick and could be the key for a big S.A total here!

35 year Harwood is bowling 147 kph. Had he been an Indian,he would have become a superstar

Set up fantastically for the Saffies. 300+ is definitely on.

Is that the series then?

great knock by gibbs and ab seems to be a attacking batsman

Boucher's style is well suited to the power plays, 4 through the off side

Haddin smashes Botha for 6 and then another!

101/0 after 15.5 overs

Aussies off to a flyer here!

Haddin 59 off 43.

Aussies going after the S.A spinners here which is good to see!

Australia can win this from here, if they play sensibly. The openers have given them an ideal start to chase such a huge total.

Punter needs to come out and dominate here and not lose the momentum the Aussies have!

129/1 after 21 overs...

Clarke needs to act as anchor and bat through inns here!

S.A spinners will look to rattle through overs here and just go at 4/5 over and make req run rate go up!

Botha & van der Merwe have taken 3 wickets and are drying up runs. Clarke and Fergerson gone!

Van der merwe pretty much wrecked havoc in last game. S.A finally have a decent spin option!

Has a first class average of nearly 38 but ODI averages are pretty good.

the way mike hussey's playing, he needs all the cricket he can get... he should reconsider his decision on the pakistan series.

Yes I am sure Pakistan will get him into form pretty quickly.

Aus 123/0 after 20 overs >>>> 168/4 after 32 overs

so last 12 overs just 45 runs and 4 wickets lost!

Australia no longer push the advantage.

Clarke and HAddin looked good but they never really took it away from RSA

Aussies pretty much throwing the game and series away here!

Australia has chased 300 plus only twice

One was against South Africa in Port Elizabeth chasing 326 successfuly. Gilly made 50, Lehmann and Punter made 90s

2nd one wsa against Pakistan in Lahor. Gilly and Punter made 100s.

Generally poor chasers of 300 plus totals considering their ranking.

Australia has lost 9 times chasing 300 plus totals

4 - against India
2 -against SL
1 - against England
1 - South Africa
1 - West Indies.

Current partnership 27 runs, 7.2 overs, RR: 3.68 (Ponting 16, DJ Hussey 10)

Aus 178-4 after 35 overs @ 5.08 - need 140 more @ 9.33
Last 5 ovs 16/0 RR 3.20

What an average team Australia has turned into. They are getting pwned by South Africa.

Dave Hussey gone and pretty much so have Aussies!

Punter is to blame here... 20 off 50 balls ***? Hes ballsed up big time!

No imaginative captaincy. Johnson is good striking form. He should have come ahead.

Can't these guys play little delicate shots against spinners. Why are they looking so uninspiring against spinners match after match.
