What's new

South Africa v England | 3rd ODI | Centurion | Feb 9, 2016 | South Africa win by 7 wickets

I have to note, this game is played at altitude (1432 m/4698 ft) so the ball flies for miles.

Watching Cricket without commentary is like dancing without any song/music. No commentary on TENCRICKET for 10 minutes. Hilarious.

de Kock in the touch of his life.. With him and Rabada around, SA's near future doesn't look too bleak

SA are walking this. This calls to mind, how bad are the Pakistani batsmen? Also, Jordan is downright awful

De Kock, Roussow and Rabada will be enough to keep South Africa a force in the future.

Looks like Tahir doesn't have much show time left..

Lol, Afridi and Akmal made this guy look like Jordan.

To be fair that over was absoloutely brilliant, quite possibly the best super over I've ever seen. How many have nailed 6 90mph yorkers in such a pressure situation.

I reckon Stokes' workload should be tightly managed.. He should be playing as a specialist bat in ODIs (he is good enough) and shouldn't really be bowling much. He is one of their MVPs

I meant to say they made him look like Waqar. I don't remember him bowling six yorkers, they could have scored 8 runs off that over, IMO.

Eng needs 2-3 wickets in succession..

De Kock is the next big thing in international cricket, what a prospect; he has the potential to become a world class keeper batsman

Pacer friendly pitch in India and batting paradise in SA. What is the world coming to ?!

Lol! de Kock has made almost twice the runs of Amla

He's been around for 2-3 years hasn't he?

He was doing well before too but before the WC 2015 he had a big injury and was out for several months. South Africa rushed him back for the WC and he had a terrible outing. (At one point he had like 2 runs in 4 innings I think). Unfortunately that will always be a stain on his record because most people won't care about context of his WC failure.

Still very young though so can rectify that

Just checked Rashid's figures. Difficult to believe that his economy is below five, the best bowler on display today.

Is something wrong with AB? Why would you send a hack like Wiese right now and not yourself?

Lol, Wiese actually believed he was AB de Villiers.

Brilliant innings by Amla, so much for not being a good chaser.

Looks like de Villiers doesn't want to bat tonight.

Yeah he has been around for a while, that injury was a big set back and it took a while for selectors to notice him again. He's a work in progress but I believe he has the potential to become a world class keeper batsman. Already has hit hundreds all over the world in ODI cricket and has found a suitable position to fire from at the test level now. Youth is on his side to, it is a stain but I believe it was his first tournament; hopefully he learned a lot from that experience. Defo one for the future , been excited for him since he got that hundred against Pak in the UAE

Someone said "aur maro chakka" :))

Can't tell if it was Moeen or Rashid

Rashid bhai uses some vile language though. :sanga

it's a blue moon phenomena.. i am sincerely shocked tbh

Don't worry choke is still on. Similar equation when they were chasing 264 against us in 42 overs, and then Amla bhai choked on 99 :afridi, and Junny K won us the game.

I don't mind if batsman scores runs in a loosing cause. At least he showed he fought.. Amla on the other hand has been gutless almost entire time when chasing even semi-decent score

Makes zero sense that either of them would speak in Urdu to De Kock.

He averages 45-ish in chases at a good SR. His chasing weakness is grossly exaggerated.

Faf trying his best to take this game to the last over, lol.

Amla batting beautifully, the captaincy was a big burden on him.

Moeen Ali needs to open in ODI cricket but when they play Roy he got no choice but to bat down the order

Rashid has been brilliant, gave little away and maintained a tight line. No use having all these variations when you lack control but he has done the job today, the others gave him little support

What does England see in Chris Jordan? He is the definition of mediocre. Neither a batsman nor a bowler.

Jordan is taking away some worthy guys place in the team.

Usually it is the leggie who gets smashed around but Adil bowled really well today.

Has a good yorker. That's all.

Amla against non-winnows

while chasing: averages 39.73 with 3 hundreds (2 of them resulting in losses).

batting first : averages 53.23 with 9 hundreds (SA winning 7 of them)

I am so glad that Amla flopped in India. When he is in form, the entire SA team looks formidable.

Just a few months ago, I remember Decock struggling to put bat on the ball. Now he is playing like a champion.

I know , nice surprise; Tahir got clarted all over the pitch. Rashid gives himself time, he doesn't rush in and his variations/control help him.

So it clearly shows he's not a bottler in ODIs other than ICC tournament. In fact every players from SA are bottlers in ICC tourney

so that means you rate that innings of Amla :amla. anyway I rate that innings due to he has string of low scores prior to that series (though thinks he scores a century in UAE leg).
