Well done India. Steyn looks out of sorts and they've taken a huge advantage of that fact.

Should score close to 290/300 at the close me thinks.

Hardly threatening after lunch. Unless they get a wicket or two here India will just race away.

Good batting pitch, good batting lineup. Inexperienced (barring ZK) and somewhat crap Indian bowling lineup

Then why even bother playing the game , if your are so sure ?

India put up a big total , SA will be playing for a drawing the series...it will be different than the last test. Also with the pitch helping spinners it may not be that easy for them to score .

Its scary how good this Indian side can be none of the batsman are 30 yet Vijay being the oldest at 29. Next decade could be India's decade in world cricket.

You expect a bit more from NAMBAR WAN team

Well, Steyn has forgotten how to take a wicket for a while now, it must have hit them very badly, number one or not. Some 60 overs bowled by Steyn without a wicket now, that must be eating into their nerves.

this track will reverse too bloody good toss to win for Dhoni.

At the start of the tour, The only inclusion that i hated was Vijay...But seeing how he is erforming .. I eat a humble Pie :55:

Look up his interviews/statements from last two odd years, and you'll get the reason.

I gen stay away from OTT interviews. So if you can elaborate, that ll be good..

hack VJ? He has improved by miles now.

He still is a hack. But has shown improvement, no doubt about that.

Look at in India, Dhoni is never shy of demanding pitches that turn from day 1.
The pitch is utter crap, seems like Delhi

:))

Bitter lil fella..

SA got a big big bigggggg job to do if they want to win this series.

SA had this coming, they knew what to expect in Durban, yet they still played for the draw.

If they don't bowl them out for under 400 this innings I think its gonna be a draw, unless India pull out an incredible bowling performance outta nowhere

Watching Vijay you gotta think why he get's so much stick from the Indian fans?

Seems compact, stylish and resilient.

lol :sachin

Anyone else noticed that since they got caught ball tampering their bowlers have been noticeably less threatening?
In both ODIs and Tests.

Maybe it's just me.
I've hinting at that for while :))

Don't get me wrong, most teams do it, but had I said the same I don't think it would have been well received.

Everytime I see Pujara bat it seems like he has been batting forever

It's going to be interesting to see how the SA's play India's bowlers on this pitch. I can't see SA forcing a result, it'll either be an Indian win or a draw.

From cricinfo

Anand Varma: "Stats whimsy.... MICHAEL HOLDING has a unique record of bowling over 900 overs (5473 deliveries) in one - day internationals without a single wide. Joel Garner is second with 5330 deliveries."

why peeps complaining about the wicket in durbs when we all know its been slow for the last few years..can't change it overnight

Time to bring our views out into the open, and hopefully wind up a few Saffaz on the way :bumble

Vijay is getting a lot of flak, but he is a very very big reason for our batting success so far on this tour. He helped blunt the new ball against the world's "best" bowling attack. It can not be overstated that he did this in SA. So lets give him his due, cause I bet you Team India are very very thankful.

I was not a great fan of him either, but the way he has played out balls in the last 2 matches is exactly what we needed from him. Hopefully, he starts converting the starts to bigger scores. But well done to him so far.

Not my fault mate. There's a reason why he isn't in the team. And as long as MS is at the helm, I am afraid it's curtains for Gambhir bimari and Viru the Sehwag.

@Topic:- Solid from India so far. They are scoring at almost one run per over higher then what England did today earlier. Those few runs make a lot of difference at the end of the day.

I stopped watching around the time the first wicket dropped. After getting slapped for a few runs Steyn was actually looking pretty good with Morkel. How'd he do after?

Seeing that one of the days might be rained out, this match is well and truly on it's way to a draw.

This might be the first look at what Philander could be like in the subcontinent against good batsmen. :nehra

I think Sa's awful recent record at durban shows they don't compete in all conditions that well.

Impressed with Robbie so far. India haven't gone on the offensive yet though. We will wait and see

getting a result on this surface is tough, add bad weather & draw is a certainty .
we will probably score 450 .

Hard to believe sometimes how Philander managed so many rating points. We really lack competitive batsmen these days if such trundlers are being made to look like bullies.
