So Sa have found the new murli. The one which only works against our batsmen.
 
Is this a 330 plus wicket? I think so. Pakistan has to bat very well to reach that.
 
Good 50 from Fakhar. Need to get a mini partnership going here and than can go for it.
 
What was there to appeal.
Not even close for stumping. Clear as much as it can be
 
Maharaj seems a better fit for ODIs than Shamsi. Plus he can bat. Maybe worth giving Maharaj a run of games
 
They're obviously trying to slow Babar and Fakhar down by deliberately bowling spin but if both of them survive to the fast bowlers its open season
 
Think Fakhar looks lost if it's not there for the slog or there to turn off the hip.

Makes up for it with a chikka but it's regaining dots that should have been easy singles, like Babar has been taking.

Need another proactive player in at this stage with Babar; busy, a willing runner, that'll accumulate the singles effortlessly I.e Rizwan.
 
Man it's criminal Markram has been allowed to even bowl 6 overs let alone at an economy of under 4 rpo, could well be the difference between the two teams in the end.
 
That was played really well. Not much width but played late with quick hands. 4 for Babar
 
Babar miles ahead of anyone in the team. But he really needs to concentrate & play a massive inning not just score a hundred & then depart the very next ball.

Markram is running away with his quota. 7 overs already and conceded 31
 
Doesn't seem like Bavuma has much confidence in the seamers if he is bowling Smuts here .
 
Not the most impressive captaincy from Bavuma. After the fall of Imam’s wicket he still carried on with Markram rather than deploying a main bowler to try and get a wicket at that time to put more pressure on Pak. Yes he has bowled economically but, you have to grab any oppurtunity to get further inroots into the batting lineup.
 
Way too many dots from Fakhar. I know he can accelerate - being able to accelerate isn't the point, it's the fundamental ability to keep it going when it isn't there to slog.

Edit: then he hits a chikka ha ha :D
 
As per commies its a slowish track. Also looking at how spinners have gone for SA looks like their ball is not coming as well onto the bat as one would like
 
Fakhar seems to be more suited to getting set and then accelerating by dismissing bad balls for sixes. Maybe why he has been in poor form in t201s since he has to target all balls including good ones which leads to his wicket falling.
 
The track is on the slow side it won't be easy to chase anything above 300 here, Usman Qadir's overs would be really important.
 
It was in 2013 that Pakistan last won an ODI series in South Africa. It was under Misbah. We will pull it off again with Misbah as coach

and there is a chance to win the test series as well
 
Babar reaches number 1. Fakhar and Imam enter top 10. Shaheen takes a 5 fer to enter top 10 and boot Amir out. Sounds good to me.
 
i like how bringing Sharjeel into the squad has got fakhar performing. bit of competition does good things for the squad
 
Poor bowling, Fakhar has been scoring on the leg side (80%) and they have still been bowling good length or short pitch. Just bowl full outside off and see if he can score on the off side.

Thanks to Zaman's acceleration. Don't get me wrong, Babar is good but Zaman is a genuine match winner.
 
Babar is playing a gem of an innings here, looks so much in control. He should really target another century today.

100% Babar is a beast.

He's come in and accelerated the innings without really breaking a sweat. Accumulated 30 in no time really - perfect for the middle overs.
 
Not the best setting today for Sarfaraz’s style of play and comeback as he generally struggles to go big straight away. Also the comeback will be on his mind as well.

Well this is the best SA has to offer and actually players like Sipamla, Phehlukwayo, Maharahd and Hendricks have been there for a long time.

We are not playing Test series in South Africa; we are playing in Zimbabwe, our arch-rivals.
