I think finally South African public is getting sick of too much cricket.
There are so many empty seats and crowd aren't as electric as they usually are.

There has been too many important tournaments in South Africa in the last couple of years.
Or maybe they prefer T 20 now.

It's happening in test cricket there aswell and they are the best side in the world in both formats.

^^ I think its a working day thats why lot of seats are empty. There will be lot more people watching the match once SA starts their bating.

This has been pointed out a few times in commentary but why take the powerplay in the last 10 overs.

I mean the commentators are right. Before powerplays you'd get lost of runs in the last 10 overs anyway. I mean Pakistan were masters of that.

So really I agree that the batting powerplay should be taken before the last 10 and also when two batters are set at the crease.

and there you have it! teams like pakistan who have ben gifted with strong hitters in the lower order dont really need the powerplay but teams like england couldnt score more then 40-50 runs in the last 10 overs unless they have a powerplay...

Jayawerdene 45(43) - Samarweera 24(36)
SL 250-3 after 42 overs @ 5.95
last 5 overs 40-0
SL still has powerplay left

Ian Chappel is right. SL should be disappointed if they don't make 300.

This is where cricket shoots itself in the foot...the game has stopped and no one knows why, how idiotic and how annoying.

Especially in a big tournament like CT

I think rules for commentators. They don't tell you things. I bet if this was BBC/TMS radio commentary you would have heard the reason and how ridiculous it is (someone above said the sponsor's logo was the reason). TV commentary lags behind and even if you are watching you don't know what is going on

How many indian commentators are involved here? And India isn't even playing. I hope they don't just assign Indian commentators for asian teams or Pakistan may well get reported. :ajmal

It was due to sight screen problems, the Reliance mobile logo was not getting changed for some reason. Now they have covered that so the play has resumed.

Batting polerplay taken

In last 5 overs SL scored at RR of 8.2, if they keep scoring at same rate for last 6 overs they can make 317. 5 overs will be of PP so 330 is on the cards

I think it is ESPN commentators. We will see Wasim Akram because he works for ESPN

Hey, ppl .. quick hello from work. Been following score on CricIndia last few overs. Should be a good game.

Anyway, what is a decent total to defend? I think the Proteas can reach 320.

Now South Africa will need to beat England and New Zealand, if they lose here.

sorry u r wrong your team will make 260 or so

I reckon they might get to 320.

5 overs left and 283 on the board.

40 in 5 quite possible with 7 wickets in hand.

They better go beserk now! :P

Sri Lanka will get 325-335 here. Should be a good game on a flat batting deck.
Plus SL have Murali and Mendis, so I think it will be difficult for Saffers
