Given its 7.30am and I still haven't slept today it's really a struggle not to :28:

I have a feeling the Yarps will save this Test
 
SA boring Australia into submission

42 overs left, will need to take a wicket in the next 20 to stand a chance
 
Lyon needs to spin another into Duminy's pads
 
Key here against Lyon and watson is concentration as both dont look to threatening, Am sure rhino or MJ will be back soon for another blast

They need to change their line against batsmen not offering shots though. You need to somehow force them to make shots or surprise them. For batsmen who will leave anything that they think don't threaten the stumps you're not going to get edges bowling a wider offstump line unless you can move the ball. Surprise bouncers could work but the wicket's bounce has been pretty consistent. I reckon they could bowl a lot straighter and force them to play to the legside.
 
These two need to stick around for atleast another 20 overs. Then Philander needs to do his part by sticking around until the end. Steyn and Morkel won't be able to stay for too long


Still, Aus are favourites. All they need are four deliveries, four good ones and the match is theirs.
 
Bowl all balls at the stumps - there is enough time left for the batsmen to make four mistakes.

Looks like Fafs gone, the S.A are scrapping but looks like a losing cause here.
 
Smith really needs to work on his legspin. He would be indispensable if he could be a genuine allrounder as a leggie.

If SA can hold out from here they deserve to draw the series even though we have been all over them in this last Test

Let them keep playing shots. They could score another 150 runs it's all good if they are playing shots

Why not get all the men around the batsmen ? Why bother with the runs at this stage ? Let the boundaries go.

The Tailenders will be intimidated with 10 men around them

Most of them are. There's nobody at the boundary. Just a few in legside mid positions for the pulls.

Push some catchers further back at deep square leg for the hook against Cloudlander
 
Cloudlander looks to be the best chance at a wicket. Push fielders to deep square leg and deep mid on and have Jonno bowl short and straight
 
Only what 300 odd to get in 30 overs. Can do! :afridi
 
Keep hitting the ball Cloudlander. I hope these bowlers have the IQ to set him up. Let him get a few boundaries then induce a mistake

He's a proper all rounder though, not a tailender. Stuck it out for 100+ balls in the first innings. If he can do that again, and the bottler faces another 100, the game is drawn...

I know. What I mean is that he will play his shots. So you can set a relatively normal field for him. JP I think will be stonewalling a lot more. He needs a very attacking field.

Might not be a bad idea to give Watson a bowl soon me thinks. Maybe unleash the Lion at the other end Rawwwrr!

Steyn can hold out for a while. So if these can bring it down to the last ten overs, we may have a draw.
 
They should imagine its a 20/20 game... But you have to score the least amount of runs but stay alive by the 20th over
 
If this series ended in a draw I think it would probably be a fair result, OZ flogging SA on a bouncy wicket, SA responding in PE on a dead wicket, then the 3rd ending in a draw on a featherbed where they bossed the game but were not quite good enough to take 20 wickets. Gives both teams lots to work on.
 
Bring back Rhino I reckon. Ball is starting to reverse a bit
 
I know that offies suck balls in SA but geez Lyon has been worse than useless in terms of taking wickets. He is no wicket for 10 runs this innings but playing the holding role in this Test is useless.

Lyon has been very disappointing. Too easy for the batsmen to just block him.

Jonno is too wide. They won't fish at anything on 4th stump
 
These 2 have now been at the crease for nearly 100 deliveries yikes!
 
I think Aus is missing a trick here. Put some catching fielders and try to bounce them out. Even though pitch is flat, some catch will come because Vern is playing shots. Lyon is looking too easy to negotiate.

Now it's difficult for Steyn and Morkel to survive but let's see.
 
Lyon 21 overs 16 maidens 10 runs for no wickets. Economy rate 0.47. All meaningless in the overall scheme of things. Need wickets
