South Africa vs Pakistan | 2nd ODI | Durban | Jan 22, 2019 | Pakistan innings Thread

I have said it for a long time. The biggest problem with the Pakistan team is not the skills . . its the simple fact taht they either don't have brains or don't like to use them while batting!

Alot of batting still to come, Talat, Sarfaraz, Fahim and Hasan. Hope we get to 230.

There was no need for this from Shadab, management should have revised the target during the drinks

Its not just about the pace its about having consistency in pace and bounce. Wickets in Eng are one of the best going arounds and that is why we have seen a lot of big scores recently.

Cardiff and Lord's are more two paced wickets though. Point is batsmen need to assess conditions and plan accordingly - we are terrible at working out what a par score should be on a surface. We just don't bat with any plan or intelligence.

Hussain Talat is a decent strike rotstor but not a big boundary hitter.

ODIs is his most suited format, not T20s where he debuted.

I am pretty sure the high scores which we have seen were not on the two paced wickets. I agree batsmen should adjust better.

This is so stupid from Pakistan. Despite losing Imam early, all we needed is to see out that first PowerPlay and we were doing okay at 4 RPO on this tricky surface.

Fakhar and Babar were doing okay until Babar threw his wicket away. Since then it's been all South Africa.

For that you need to have a fully functioning brain and I am sure you must have heard in your PM's first speech in power when he spoke about that. :murali

This pitch is Saffers reaction to last match.... hopefully it hurts them when we bowl.

These two need to go atleast till 37-40 th over irrespective of the RR

Pak is totally unprepared here
they should've known better its their home they will come as hard as they can

Are you even watching? One bowl is bouncing head high from good length, the other is going below knee from same length. It's a difficult pitch. 230 is winning score.

they shouldve waited for first 10 overs atleast
rather than trying to hook which you are not good at clearly

6 rpo from here is 245, Pak can do it they still have a couple of guys who can hold a partnership out there

If Paterson and Shamsi play the remaining matches, atleast they will end up lowering their career averages to a bit more respectable one.

230-240 is winning score on this pathetic pitch.

Though he is under pressure but Talat has looked good so far technically
