They are doing their best to build up the confidence of these youngsters to build up a solid team if and when pakistan get a couple of more reliable batsmen like Babar. This is a hard wicket and Shadab did ok until he needlessly through it away

Agreed. I would say its due to the lack of aggressive leadership which used to rub off the aggression to others like Imran and Wasim.

The only player who fits the criteria somewhat is Babar, and I am naming him with a heavy heart because he is far from an ideal candidate.

However, he cannot be worse than the embarrassment that Sarfraz is.

Why not pick Shan? The guy had beastly performance in List A and his confidence must be over the roof. I'd pick him alone for his confidence level plus he did "well" in tests which isn't even his strong point.
