Sri Lanka v India l 3rd Test l Colombo (PSS) | 08/08/08 to 12/08/08

Why can't Tendulkar accept a decision, he is plumb in front not playing a shot.

Well with the SRT wicket goes al the interest in the match for me, with our best bat Ishant not batting it is all over, well done to SRI-LANKA..

I must also say this is the first time I have seen SRT look so out of sorts, he usually fires after a few failures but not this time...

Tends gone, playing with his pad one time too many. Arun Lal's orgasm rudely interrupted.

Especially the way he was hiding his bat and deliberately padding so many times. He was tempting his fate way too much. It was just a matter of time!

whats up with batsmen playing with pads...if u notice, the difference between old dravid and today dravid is that he is trying to play shots or using bat inplace of his pads....

So, how's local weather like for next two days, shouldn't this be monsoon season out there?

Mendis just bowled the delivery of the series to Vaxman. Too bad didn't get him out with it.

Must say that the field placings by Jayawardene are spot on.

Come on Dravid, good boy!! I knew he would do something today. We need a 100 from him.

Mendis = most wickets in a 3 Test series. Ever.

No, I think the record is 33.

Edit - surely is the most wickets in debut series though

Ah right, I was just going by what the commentators were saying. Must have been for debut 3 match series then.

162/5 ... 2nd over of the day.

Reviews:

Sri Lanka have used all of their 3 reviews. No more.
India has only one left. One was used by Gangu and other by Sachin when they were given out.

Feedback from cricinfo commentary:

Rajasekhar: "In Indian cricket, reputation rules. The BCCI dare not tell Sachin, the God of Indian cricket, that his best days are over. Irrespective of what he does now, that is the reality! Wake up and smell the coffee, BCCI!"

Just BCCI?

with 175+ lead, this match will be a very interesting one!

Yes, and all it takes for that kind of a lead is one partnership. Both batsmen playing well.

Along with Sehwag and Kumble, these two have been India's real match winners over the years. If they put on another 100 or so, it really is game on.

Not enough pace in the pitch to beat quality players....so these 2 should just dig in and bat on and on........

come on guys. Just keep batting and batting. Runs will come.

Btw some more good news for indian fans :)

Colombo: Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of the one-day series against Sri Lanka to be played later this month. Tendulkar injured his elbow in an attempt to take a catch during the ongoing third Test against the Lankans in Colombo. S Badrinath will replace him in the 16-man squad. The five-match ODI series begins from August 18. This will be the third consecutive ODI series which Tendulkar will miss due to an injury.

chance for another youngster to cement his place :)

Congratulations Indian fans. And congratulations M S Dhoni.

dravid gone, and its all over for india... i think sl will get a target of 100 rus.

I don't think the tail will be bowled out that easily if they play sensibly. And remember, Zaheer has yet to come.

Srilanka will be made to get around 170 I guess.

Kumble and Tendulkar shouldn't have asked for a review, now what happens if Laxman gets a bad decision...game over India.

Its already game over.

Cricinfo commentary feedback email:

Alok: "Since 1999, India has won 36 test matches. Most surprisingly Sachin Tendulkar was not man of the match in a single match. It shows he is not a match winning player. On the other hand man of the match award in these winning matches have gone to: Kumble -7, Dravid - 5, Harbhajan - 5, Sehwag - 3, Ganguly - 2, Laxman - 2 and Zaheer Khan - 2."

:))

Trivia: Has Laxman every hit a 6 be it in tests or ODI's ?

I recall him hitting shoaib akhtar for a 6, i'm not sure if it was an edge or a planned shot, because it went over the slip cordon for 6.

The match isn't over yet man, you've still got Laxman there...he just needs Harbajan and Zaheer to stay with him for a while>

SL's batting is crap, they only have 2 batsmen.

Thats why i say, make the reviews unlimited. 3 reviews is just too restrictive. If your out, your out and if your not out, your not out. The game moves on.

Wow!

That's a very surprising stat.

He had the opportunity to be the man of that match against Pakistan in 99, but at the very last moment, guess what, he choked!

Wow, the world is round after all I had no clue :) ..

Must say I was surprised to find out he had so many sixes. Never saw him hit one myself! Maybe they were overthrows?

Me neither, never seen him physically hit one for 6.. Overthrows are a strong possiblity.
