48.6 Kulasekara to Mills, SIX,

The last six crashed on to a spectator's head. She just couldn;t get away from it...

316 to win.

'Not many people in the stadium will trade places with Sangakarra.' :chappel

want to see Sri Lanka lose but also wanna see some big shots from the opening pair

Congrats to Sri Lankans on their exit from Champions trophy, but wait hold that plane India might join you tommorow...

If SL lose, it leaves the group wide open, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are out of the CT. If they win against England, they have a good chance of making it in the semis...
Yeah... about that...

Edit: Yip, they're out if they lose. You can't get through winning only one game.

Loads depends on Sri Lankans openers we all know what will or can happen if they can hang aorund for a while !

But this could be good Sri Lanka could be knocked out today if England win even South Africa could be knocked out.. and if India dont win tommorow they could also be knocked out lol

Oops, actually, it's more complicated. From Cricinfo:
Sri Lanka are in a peculiar situation - they might make the semi-finals even if they lose to New Zealand, but on the other hand, they might miss out even if they beat New Zealand. Here's how: if they lose to New Zealand, and if England win their last two matches, then England will have three wins, while the other three teams will finish with one victory each, bringing in net run rates to decide on the second semi-finalist.

If Sri Lanka beat New Zealand, and if England lose to South Africa and beat New Zealand, three teams will again be tied, this time on six points, bringing run rates into play. Sri Lanka's best bet is to beat New Zealand, and then hope that England either win both their remaining matches, or lose them both.

Ya that's what I was thinking, that it was more complicated then that...Although, realistically, if they lose today, it would become pretty tough to qualify...

Yeah, I don't think it's likely that England will win against us and South Africa.

Terrible lbw appealing there by Mills.

Fair enough to ask, but shouldn't start celebrating also. Hit him outside the line and missing off.

jayasuriya gone :( , dilshan still hitting :D 67/1 dan drops a sitter from sanga oh my

Dilshan falls after an electrifying cameo. It was the short of length delivery kicking in to him and he mistimed the pull straight to deep square-leg. The other day he said, his wife keeps telling him don't hook don't hook, he says yes but goes to do exactly that! And he has fallen to that shot now. Having said that, that's the shot that fetches him lots and lots of runs. No use shelving that. But but .. you should listen to your wife now and then I say!

Arghhhhhhhhhh

I really like the NZ Team and hope to met them in the SF, cause we always beat them

but comeon

they are dropping Srilanka back into the CT.

Jaya and Sanga both dropped. Game would have been over by now

They still got Jaya and Samaraweera, two very capable batsman
Jayawardene is an imposter.

The most overrated batsman of the modern era!

I am happy they are gone. i used to like them but since sanga opened his mouth i lost respect for him and the team. though i like individual players.

PLAYERS I DONT LIKE

sanga for sure
mathews
kulasekra

player i like in lankan team

murali- in his so long career never been too cheeky or controversial
jaya
and rest of team

but because of sangakara i hate em

This is surely Bye Bye for Sri Lanka unless England beat both Saffies today and then Kiwis. Even then their NRR won't be that good after today's heavy defeat which seems it will be massive.

Yes, his test average is one whole run less than Tendulkar's. What a failure.

And by the way is Mahela batting for his team or his average there is no intent whatsoever from him.

Yeah, end of the road for overrated Sri lanka, whom we could have easily beaten in SL had it not been for our collapses.

The Sri Lankans obviously thought going to the semi's would be easy after their victory against the Strong powerful South African side. They only have themselves to blame for going out of the tournament.

NZ could beat anybody anywhere... if only we could score more runs and take more wickets. :13:

:))) :))) :))), by that logic Ireland could beat everyone too

New Zealand 315/7 (50 ov)

Sri Lanka 164/6 (31.0 ov)

Sri Lanka require another 152 runs with 4 wickets and 19.0 overs remaining

another bad day for my fantasy team, hopefully shah bats well and devlliers

Thanks mate. Afridi is one of my favourite players too. :afridi

He is a crowd sweetheart :afridi

In the meantime Vettori is sticking with costly Bond. Not a move that I will go for. SL can still win this.

Afridi_fan is probably wishing for a kiss from Afridi :P

FFS, take Bond off, Mehela is somehow eating him for breakfast. Tuffey and Franklin have bowled well, where are they?

No human can withstand that.

If you have any doubt ask Kallis who now-a-days seems short of stamina in Centurion. :afridi

Hey, Ringo16 ... if you beat Sri Lanka, the Boks will pay you back and let the All Blacks win a game next year. :D

This is not going to last long, like our neighbors yesterday SL will self destruct by 250

Hands up who predicted England and New Zealand to go through from this group :D

I'm sick of the All Blacks, kinda glad they're losing. You guys are playing some awesome rugby, go Southern Hemisphere!

At the end of the day it will bring Proteas down to earth ....

Anyway, good luck to NZ. (Eish, did I say that?)

Can Jayawerdene do the WC 2007 semi-final?
no he is out as I type - bowled by Vettori
SL 219-7 after 38.2 overs

Congrats Ringo, you guys are on the verge of knocking Sri Lanka out.

SL can still go through with a defeat.

Complicated stuff must happen for that though..they will most likely go out.

By the looks of things England are going through today and SL out, who would have thought.

Highly unlikely though, their NRR will take a dip for sure.
