Shan seeing off the new ball from both ends to save Shezzy from some more embarrassment

I haven't seen a bigger wuss captain than Mathews defensive as hell and goes for a review for anything extremely desperate .

Shan masood has worked on his technique it seems. If it comes off then there will be serious headaches for the team management.

He averages 36.

I have watched him since his debut. He used to offer 1 trash ball an over and now its 3.

Imran Khan and Adil are unable to pick up wickets. They barely manage to hit good lines.

Our pace attack is mega weak.

He averages 36? I guess that means he's a bad bowler. Let's just ignore that he is playing in only his 12th Test. Let's also ignore that over the last year he has played 6 of those Tests bowling on mostly UAE graveyards and he is averaging 27 in this period with an econ. of 2.91.

This guy, even though he is a massive sifarishi, at least works hard on his game and tries to improve after every series, unlike certain individuals :ahmed:hafeez2

Lets also ignore if this investment does work he will be 30 by the time he is international grade.

We need to find a 22 year old. And no I am not talking about Adil.

Shan is a proper opener but his problem has been that he just gets himself into a rut with the new ball and doesn't manage to score much despite a decent technique. If he can rectify that, he is a good option going forward. Definitely better equipped to handle the new-ball than MoHa and #Shelfie.

Yeah, because we have 22 year-old Wasims and Waqars growing on trees. Rahat is only 26, and he is already a good new-ball bowler. He has enough skills to be an intl. standard bowler and the reason why he bowled some trash is because he is recovering from an injury and has had absolutely no match practice to get him into rhythm. He bowled very well against NZ and Aus in UAE. If fit, Rahat and Wahab are first choice in Tests. Can you name some amazing 22 year olds we should invest in?

Amir is the benchmark.

Not sure if you are too young or can't remember but he is the grade of fast bowler we produce. With him we won T20 world cup. Champion bowlers.

These Rahats and Imran Khans and Adils are just journeymen.

I am just shaking my head in disgust at what has happened to our fast bowling heritage.

Masood, what rubbish shots so far. Barely survived twice.

Shehzad looking awful against outswingers of lakmal.

Both won't last against quality bowling.

You didn't name any other bowlers who we should invest in. Amir is a once in a generation talent, and if he still has the hunger and work ethic to play for Pakistan, I'm sure he'll be back after his ban is over. But who else is there to invest in? Face it, the stocks are pretty bare at the domestic level due to the terrible standard of cricket. We do not have other talents like Amir to work with. When Rahat bowled well against Aus and NZ in UAE, should we simply discard him because he is not as good as Amir?

SL targeting Shan with short balls now that they've realized his weakness.

Wow, Masood looks worse than a tailender right now. You know you're bad when Shehzad looks like Bradman compared to you

Shan front foot going across too much makes him handicap for incoming balls.

Need tuning

Too many weaknesses. In short, belongs at the club level. You've gotta be really awful if Shehzad is looking a bit better.

Ahmed Shehzad has a French cricket technique against swing bowling. Opens up his stance, both feet facing the bowler and trying to tap the ball in to the ground. Looks like hockey goalkeeper who is defending with a vertical stick instead of horizontal. England will be an interesting place to tour for him .

Weak links in this team:

Shan Masood
Rahat Ali
Imran Khan
Ehsan Adil
Asad Shafiq

Why Asad and Rahat? After Wahab, Rahat is the best fast bowler in Pakistan. As for Shafiq, he crumbles under pressure, but has a good enough average and usually comes good. The ODI Shafiq is another matter though...

The only good thing about Shehzad are his cover drives when they're executed right. Quite beautiful.

Sami's time will come , Shan Masood had a good A tour in Sri Lanka and thats why he has been picked.

Not abt this particular case, but generally, PPers support under-19, Televised T20 performers more than the players who are playing domestic years&years and scoring 800-1000 runs every year.

Shehzad never comes fully on front foot and thats quite a handicap where ball will swing. Hope the ball never swings :P

So much hate for Shan, acting like he murdered your dog. Get off his back and stop complaining about him not being able to play the short ball. Thats a lot easier to fix than other issues like playing the swinging ball.

Sami should have been in the squad , this is not a way to treat the youngster. He was goven two matches and he is out.
