It's been 14 overs. Conditions will ease out for batting

Lankan's are bowling perfectly with the new ball, unless intended to bounce, they are making the batsman play almost every ball. I think, if this pair can survive till drinks after lunch, PAK 'll post over 450.

Just told you that I don't think Shehzad is cut out for it, but people will bring up his 47 avg. prior to this series, so no harm in seeing what he's made of. As expected, he has flattered to deceive when the conditions are tough to bat in, barring one innings. We're somewhat on the same page...

Shehzad is a T20 centurion.

Do you think Masood can deliver a century in front of a packed crowd in a T20 world cup game?

LOL

I give Shehzad a lot of stick but the boy has a huge future for Pakistan and his test average reflects this. He has a TRACK RECORD. A U19 product too.

Srilankan pace attack is much better and 'fast' then Pakistan. Accept it...Shame

Thats what I had been thinking, So embarrassing to see the likes of SL and Ind producing more faster bowlers than Pakistan who was once renowned for producing quality pace bowlers. Such a shame to see SL trundlers constantly hitting 135 KPH consistently as compared to our mediocre bunch who barely touch 135 KPH with no line and length, Can't believe we have declined to this level

When you were referring to 'technical flaws', I thought you were referring to Shehzad. Pardon me. I guess we disagree big time on this. Shehzad has massive technical flaws and unless he is willing to iron it out (he has never shown the capability to improve), he does not have a future at Test level. A Hafeez level batsman, at best; Lion in Asia and Kitten overseas.

When you don't have bowlers like Rahat Ali who offer 3 trash balls an over and Imran Khan and Adil who do not know how to take wickets this happens.

Pak pacers are unable to build pressure because they are so loose.

Look at SL here, 7 overs of good fast bowling creating pressure.

Rahat is recovering from an injury and Wahab is out. I think if we had a full strength pace attack, we'd have an edge. SL have a solid group of pacers though. Prasad has developed into a very decent bowler and Lakmal and Pradeep are learning. Chameera is raw but the best young talent they have. Eranga is OK too. Definitely better than their predecessors.

GreenRoars I meant to say that YK jumps around the crease too much and is indecisive about his footwork, no need to ban me for my views.

and what i am noticing from every thread that you are only here to Troll, not to discuss cricket. Sometimes you feel problems with Fast, studies, girls e.t.c e.t.c . It is cricket forum, and this thread is about cricket match. So better focus on it.

Last year in UAE, Rahat bowled a spell of 8-7-1-1; the run was a no-ball (against NZ, I think). He is finding his feet again because of his injury, but he is a Test class bowler for sure.

I won't even compare Wahab to Prasad in this form, Wahab gets most of his wickets with short balls because of his pace, not because of bowling tight line and length, No one in this line lineup comes even close to Prasad.

YK should get the slap of his life - got run out on the last ball before lunch!!!!!!!!!

The commentator mentioned this was YK's first run out in 9 years.

The last time it was in 2006 August at Headingley when YK was run out after scoring 173 - his only hundred in England.

this has to be one of the most interesting series of all time. So many twists and turns

such series are great for the game instead of dull draws.

Pakistan can still win this from here, Azhar, Shafiq, Sarfaraz and Misbah still to come

As much as i like misbah its time he played a captains innings because its been a while..

This was a golden chance for us to post 450 and win this test.

I fear we will struggle to reach 300.

This match is now wide open.

Not good, rather see a result here then a defeat even if we lose because maybe we can make some changes

If Shafiq fails in these 2 innings and isn't benched for the odi game I hope for a miracle in his removal from the side

You are definitely out of form if you can't squeeze singles off Mathews

Or it's time to retire.

The clock has started ticking definitively for him and misbah. I suspect at least one of them will continue with the grand Pakistani tradition of playing longer than necessary.

Idiots. We've got a team full of idiots. Let's take a suicidal run just before lunch, great idea. :yk

I feel it is a brilliant move to send shafiq in. Hopefully my words wont come back to haunt me

Asad looks so good on sight that I really wonder why he averages 25 & 45? Could have been a 45 - 55 player.

Hunbbel Meer: "Misbah's injury wouldn't be the worst thing for Pakistan here. He will come with the tail and go all guns blazing. And we all know what happens when Misbah goes all guns blazing!"

Actually agree with this.

I know I'm speaking too soon but hopefully if these two can see the session out...

Misbah may just come in next...

Shafiq is looking a little flaky out there. Not convincing at all.

Actually agree with this.

Well, it depends how bad his injury is. It's not easy to hit the ball miles on one leg. It also depends on the match situation, if we've got a decent lead then he might go for it. If we're still under 300 then he'll try and hang around as long as possible and grind out the runs.

I'm starting to really like Azhar Ali. What a player he is turning into! Insha'Allah he makes another big score
