I think Australia do, but I don't think Ponting does. Seems to be a very stubborn man.Do the Aussies believe in learning from past events?

If you'll bat first on a cloudy day at Headingley, you'll bat first anywhere.
:adnan
Australia have chosen a terrible team here. They only have one genuine batsman left in Haddin and then extreme bunnies down the order.
They somewhat deserve to lose this on selection. They've selected a team format you'd expect decades ago.![]()
Well you'd have been at long odds to expect three batsmen back in the sheds after a couple of overs.
Dear oh dear, what a village shot that was by Ponting. Looked as if he guided it to slip.

Swann drops a sitter
It fell just short of him not that he dropped it!
He could have dived forward to catch it so chance dropped by Swann :kami
Errr Harris is a decent bat, better than MJ on current form.
Hilf is a rabbit so is Bollinger.
I fail to comprehend what you be saying, bro.
Not just that. My point is there tail is waaay too long for modern cricket. You don't play test matches with 6 batsmen nowadays.
From memory isn't Adelaide meant to be a flat track and brisbane, fast and bouncy! It seems they swapped the wickets around ...
Yes, but the problem in the side has historically been bowling for the past couple of years. Siddle, Harris and Doherty are decent tailenders - it's only really Hilf and Bollywood who are mugs with the bat. MJ of course has scored a couple of Test tons by cowlashing. This lot collectively average about 40-50 with the bat. If they're having to consistently deliver more than that each Test then there's something wrong with the blokes ahead of them. I reckon you have to pick a bowling attack based on its ability to take 20 Test wickets, not necessarily what they can deliver with the bat. Any runs they deliver would be a bonus.
The big problem here is a lack of patience from the top order - too eager to score runs. I'm all for being positive, but if the ball is swinging you need to dig in and weather the storm.
