Immense respect to John Cena for an extremely giving farewell run where he helped so many people elevate to another level.
In that regard what
@shaz619 amd many others have already said is spot on. He is modern era’s greatest WWE superstar. Nobody has done more for the business in terms of pure service, commitment.
Btw, going by all his interviews leading up to this, it was very obvious he was going to lose his final match and let someone get over. That seems to be his personal decision. As villainous as Triple H is being made out, I don’t think he would deny a victory to Cena for all he’s done. Cena wanted it that way. He valued respect from his peers over belts and victories and it’s the way it should be. He’s set an example and shown a way to so many others. He didn’t carry the same ego, insecurities and politics of his predecessor superstars but showed he being magnanimous earns even more love and respect. The tribute video had Brock and Roman break character for him which is unprecedented, especially with Brock. You only get that when you’ve set very high standards as a human and as a professional.
Super happy for this farewell run.
