That weirdo Pat Patterson invented the match :)) Did you sit through the last two RR events? :))) feel sorry for the old school fan but in hindsight last year (Royal Rumble in Philly) it was an interesting experience because I've never seen a WWE crowd at a major PPV react in such a hostile manner, fans were on the brink of rioting and were refusing the wrestlers to leave the car park by blocking their path
 
Anyway I'm gonna stick my neck out and say

Ambrose, Charlotte and Del Rio to retain their titles and Usos to win. Reigns to win the Rumble.

Who are your final four in the rumble match and which two wrestlers you reckon will return as a surprise, and stick your neck out! come on man those are pretty safe picks :)) Although all fingers point towards Reigns dropping the belt to set up a match with HHH I wouldn't be shocked if he retained

Absolutely hated the last two rumbles being an old school fan. Batista winning the Rumble was pointless in 2014. And last years Rumble was very poor too IMO. A far cry from the standards set by the 2001,2004,2007 rumbles. In fact the Rumble was the one match that WWE never screwed up for 25 years and they managed to do that as well in the last two years. Hope they make up for it this time though.

Given the stakes, the stipulation and all they can't possibly mess this one up, surely they can't...

Batista himself didn't want to go over or return as a face, he knew it was never going to work. He tweeted about it few days ago as well. My favourite were the 1995 Rumble, 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2007 (that epic clash between HBK/Taker has to be the best in a rumble); for years it was a dream match then finally they collided.

Epic moment.

I have been looking for the promo of HBK-Hogan vs Hasan-Daivari, its one of WWE's best PPV promos. Crazy moments, Hogan had a crazy crazy entrance in that PPV. Didn't like HBK-Hogan feud though, lacked the zing.

Come on FC how can you say that, the feud was epic :))) :))) on so many levels:



I know most of the work HBK was doing as Hogan was just being Hogan and even refused to put shawn over in the end but HBK really did a great job building the hype, also cherish that run because it's the only time HBK would turn heel during his second run

I expect more from the tonight's royal rumble... The sad thing is that it's gonna happen during the Pak vs NZ game but, who gives a crap. can stream both at same time.

Rumors are that we can see the bullet club debut tonight, probably AJ Styles or Finn Balor.. Not sure about Gallows and Anderson but I still predict it

I wanted Wyatt to win but there's a little mark in me that's not angered by The Shovel going over, we have a love-hate relationship but in the end, ANYONE BUT YOU ROMAN S**K IT!!!!!!!! Break it down! it's 1999 all over again bah gawd :))) Man they had the perfect chance to elevate Wyatt on the level of an Undertaker. Instead HHH goes over knowing the smarks won't turn on him plus he can milk their cheers since he's over with them now because of NXT, he's going to make Reigns look strong at mania though unfortunately. I guess HHH beating Sting is easier to digest now, someone is going to benefit from that and it's going to be Reigns even though am not a fan of him but he's their new guy I guess. Also Look at the reaction AJ Styles got! it reminded me of Jericho debut in 1999, I know AJ established himself once and for all as a main-eventer in a big promotion like NJPW despite how good we knew he was in TNA but in one moment he has become an even bigger star, should have lasted more then 28 minutes though that was a joke

I wanted Wyatt to win too. As I thought they are gonna set up Wyatt vs lesnar for Mania. I hope and pray that Wyatt isn't made to job to Brock. But like you my inner mark is a lil excited to see hunter as champion. Did you see how Roman got crapped on by the crowd. Thank God they didn't make Roman win. And it was an interesting twist making ambrose and hunter the final two. Didn't see that coming. Also idk why the hell Wyatt was eliminated before Y2J he should've been in the final 4 at least. Bah Gawd the Shovel is the King of the WWE again. Eugene must be doing cartwheels.

At Fastlane, Reigns and Lesnar might fight for the #1 contendership. Wyatt interferes letting Reigns win leading to Lesnar vs Wyatt and Reigns vs HHH at Mania.

Roman is going to get booed out of WM, like he was tonight.

The guy just isn't it, his push is so manufactured and undeserved.

Yeah, today pretty much confirmed it for me.

Simply not talented enough (like Cena), to get the respect of the majority of fans.
 
I've never been as happy for a wrestler like I was for AJ today.

It must have been amazing for him to come out to that pop.

He totally deserves it, hopefully if things go well, he mainevents the next Mania.

I've always wanted to go to a Mania, if he mainevents, I'd definitely go.

What annoyed me was how they had the camera on Reigns for 10 -15 seconds when AJ's music hit...

I don't care what he thinks, I want to see the one that's actually talented... the phenomenal one!

I don't think there is going to be a 1-on-1 man at WM. If you guys noticed, HHH was pretty mediocre in terms of wrestling which was probably deliberate. The only move he hit right was that hackneyed knee to the face. He failed to land a single pedigree. Reigns was actually dominating him justifiably. So, a 1-on-1 match would hurt not only Reigns' credibility but also it could turn out to be a squash turning the crowd even more against Reigns.

They will have another guy in the World title match. Hopefully, it will be Ambrose or Lesnar or even Bryan and not Sheamus.

I would have loved my original fantasy storyline in that HHH's music hits but he is in a suit. He introduces Daniel Bryan as the 30th entrant who ends up winning and then shaking hands with The Game.

To be fair, he is more versatile than Cena. Does a lot of moves and is a VERY GOOD seller. Cena can't sell worth a damn. He is weak on the mic and needs a heel manager like The Miz who is excellent on the mic and can get nuclear heat from the audience if allowed to be sufficiently nasty.

He cannot be the top babyface because he doesn't have that look. He does have the cocky, arrogant heel look down pat.


He can talk if allowed to. But Vince won't let him.

though I don't dislike Reigns but I was also giving out a pop me self :)))

Aman, you should watch Owens V Ambrose what a match these two put infront of us
 
What's the sense in pushing a guy like Roman as the face of the company when you have a roster is great as what the WWE has right now? AJ, Rollins, Owens, Ambrose, Balor etc. are all superior and could easily make much better faces.

Reigns push was overdue and he was next in line after Rollins, nothing wrong with that. 2016 will a big change and I'm sure everyone you mentioned will get their timely push

That's exactly what's going to happen Adil, Wyatt will be jobbing; but if he does go over they can make it really dirty. After thinking about it, having Dean Ambrose and HHH as the final two from creatives perspective was GENIUS! I tell you why, creative anticipated that Roman was going to get heavily boo'd while the heel HHH heavily cheered when he eliminates Roman, so what do they do? they have Ambrose as one of the last guys so that the fans can get excited and cheer for him. So while we all were marking out when HHH eliminated Reigns, WWE made us quickly forget that as we contemplated the idea of Ambrose going over and got behind him. Also, AJ Styles lasting for as long as he did was also a good idea; he was never expected to win so they had him last as long as they possibly could, this was because they wanted to take the idea from our heads that he had any chance of winning. If they had him last longer then he did fans would have become a lot more hostile if he was eliminated after 55 minutes or if he was amongst the final 4. Notice Cole putting over AJ Styles "there is nothing to be ashamed about lasting 28 minutes in your WWE debut during a Rumble match)

AJ/KO feud is possible as is KO/Sami Zayn.

Bray Wyatt should have been the IronMan in the Rumble at least and broke record for most eliminations.

All of this could be solved if we had a Roman Reigns heel turn. Thing is though leathers, it doesn't matter; Reigns is super over with the fan base who drive the business and they are the casuals. The smarks are hostile towards him but they only tune in when it comes to the big PPV's. He's basically Cena 2.0 in terms of the way he will be booked and the mixed reactions he will generate, that won't stop him from making money for the company and that's what matters most to them; in the current era Reigns is the most marketable superstar when it comes to the new face of the company (I've been to house shows last year and Reigns was super over just ask Adil [MENTION=136193]Adil_94[/MENTION]). It is possible they could stick someone else in the match but HHH/Reigns will be involved in a match I have no doubt.

You're not in a position to say who deserves it or not, you wanted a guy in his debut match to go over the entire roster :)))

No one is more happy then me, I was legit tearing up because I've been a bigger fan of AJ Styles growing up as a kid then I was of Punk, Bryan, Joe, Hero or Daniels. We use to have the wrestling channel in the UK and they would show everything from Japan, TNA to ROH. AJ Styles was super over with all my cousins and fam because he'd do things we've never seen before. What's interesting is that now he's in the WWE what people don't realise is that he has a huge fan-base and WWE signing him will also bring over TNA fans to and the Japan guys to!

It' was the greatest WWE Debut for me since Jericho in 1999; the pop was insane and sustained, it matches the pop which Jericho got that night.

It was brilliant and Becky/Charlotte was really good to, the PPV was very very good. The only match which didn't need to happen was new day v USOS cuz we seen it a million times already but they delivered in the ring. The Rumble match itself was the best in years, I'd say it was the best Royal Rumble since the one in 2007 when Undertaker won

I was never a big fan of sting tbh. AJ has always been my favorite, even more so than Punk. I'm glad he's finally gotten the gimmick that has taken him to the next level. IMO he always had the moves and in ring ability but lacked the superstar presence. This new look gives it to him. Total badass :akhtar

The entire PP crew :)) That's never going to happen, look how petty they were in dealing with Sting. AJ Styles may have carved out his own identity beyond TNA but he's still their guy, while it's possible that he may main-event will he go over? never, I don't think he's going to main-event either because he's a TNA guy and vinny is really petty like that. They will at best book him as an upper mid carder, also what do you think of the new AJ T-Shirt? do you like it? Am going to buy it

I think maybe the entrance music needs to be changed? I need to listen to it again, because initial impression was mainly just marking out when AJ came out but the music never did it for me

Yeah, the start never did it for me. But as it went on, I started to dig it.

Thing is though, many superstars have been injured this year and they really want to push Roman Reigns as the new face of the company. Putting the belt on HHH was as good as Reigns winning because at Wrestlemania HHH is going to put over Reigns and give him his moment in the main-event

I would say Owens but when Sami came out it got me thinking that perhaps KO and Sami will face each other at mania, if he is feuding with Owens he will go over

I just got tickets for the Lords ODI between Pak and Eng, seats are not great but I've not been to lords before and today was the only day the tickets were going on sale and to the public it's only 2 per person

Were you bit annoyed that they didn't let AJ get much arsenal in.

I understand not letting him hit the styles clash (want to leave it for a big moment) but what about a pele kick :(

I still can't believe it, that's not AJ Styles! also notice how his muscle mass has reduced, I could swear he was a lot more bulky/hench 2 months ago
 
The roster is so stacked now, the WWE need to realize they shouldn't have one main guy. Instead they should have 8 or 9 genuine maineventers who can take the title then and again. When someone has momentum behind them, book them strongly and so on. There doesn't need to be a dominant Cena or Reigns, especially with the roster they have now.

There's only so much you can do in the Royal Rumble match!!! (its one big clustter) so I was fine with what he did get in, the camera man had a difficult job keeping up with all the action and the production team to, they never got kofi being eliminated or aj performing his signature springboard forearm smash.

Just like in the ruthless aggression era but unfortunately that will never happen because it's a PG product and they need a face like Reigns
