I hate CM Punk. The guy is an absolute douche so I'm delighted that he got his *** kicked. Why did UFC even sign him in the first place?

He cares not for the haters who are mostly small minded low lifes. He is not a douche, those who think he is are ignorant people with no moral compass and an innate quality for being pathetic on every human garbage level. He was signed by Dana White to increase PPV buyrate, Punks plan was to fight at the amateur level first. He may have got his behind kicked but atleast he can say oh well instead of what if unlike most narrow minded people who don't have the courage to challenge themselves.

Ufc involves wrestling, cm punk is a wrestler etc etc
A lot of wrestlers like dwayne Johnson say they would have joined Ufc instead if wwe if it was as massive than as it is now

2 years wasn't enough time but the match finished so soon it was hard to tell how good cm punk is

UFC involves amateur wrestling not professional wrestling. Brock Lesnar was a well accomplished NCAA wrestler which is why his transition into MMA made sense. Amateur wrestling is one of the if not the best base for MMA.

CM Punk was a professional wrestler who had zero credentials in martial arts. He did not belong in an octagon. The fact the fight ended so early soon is the perfect indicator as to how bad CM Punk really is in MMA. He lost to a guy who himself does not belong in the UFC.

My point wasn't that cm punk had the skills for ufc, it was the similarities between ufc and wwe and they target the same audiences

Dc has a gold medal in wrestling as does the last guy who fought dimitri Johnson but like you say that's amateur wrestling
Ken shamrock is the first cage fighter I can remember when he joined the wwe
So there has been similar crossovers in the past

In the Octagon altogether or the UFC Octagon? Punks intention was to fight at the amateur level, it was Dana White who offered him a UFC deal; in the end it was justified because the PPV buy-rate is reportedly around 700K when the estimate would have been around 300 without Punk. The other reason is, even though Punk lost it wasn't a failed experiment because Gall who is also a UFC member got exposure. But sure, in terms of credibility in general Punk didn't belong in the UFC, but whether or not he earned his spot is subjective because financially the move was justified and everyone on that card will get a major boost because of him. Punk apparently will continue fighting and will go down a level, at best can he be competitive in the UFC at some point? and what changes should he make as far as his team are concerned? I agree amateur wrestling is absolutely fundamental to success in MMA and maybe he should work with a specialist amateur wrestling coach

Have you listened to the entire interview? you listened to the bit where Jericho got into a suit because he thought he was going over for the world title when Vince wanted to speak to him? :)))

Smackdown was a beautiful PPV and hold your horses mate! long way to go, consistency is key;I am getting the same vibes I did in the early 2000's. This Brand Split will do wonders for the quality of the product, RAW isn't as good yet but it's not as bad as it was before the split.

SD roster isn't as strong as RAW but the writing/booking has been fantastic. I am shocked man, I never thought I'd ever see the day that AJ would make his debut for the WWE let alone win the championship! I've been watching him since the early 2000's and man it was a dream come true, got the same feels as I did when Eddie won and Shawn in 2002. Vince has been mighty impressed by AJ, he regrets he didn't sign him when he was 28; it's a brilliant move because AJ is P4P the best in the world right now and he's in the middle of his greatest run.

Also, Buddy Rogers, Ric Flair and AJ Styles are the only wrestlers to have held the NWA and WWE world championships!

Backlash was so good, I was mighty impressed by the women's opener! I loved how everyone got to shine, few years back such a match would have been a recipe for disaster but they delivered an entertaining opener. Mizz/Ziggie was great and Dean Ambrose had the best match of his career. Also SLATEEEEEEEER WINS!!!! SLAAAAAAATERR WINSSSSS! DOUBLE WIDEEEEE BAYBAAAAY!!!!

[MENTION=53290]Markhor[/MENTION] don't watch Ambrose v Styles you will get really angry :))) the lack of selling was god awful from Ambrose but the agents tell them not to.
 
It's funny how WWE rejects are repackaged as main-eventers in TNA, the irony when WWE do something similar :yk2 Styles wasn't exactly a TNA reject but never got the respect he deserved in the promotion despite how good he was but the WWE are utilising him better then they ever did :)))

If Mizz remain the IC champ for more then 2.5 months he will officially become the longest reigning IC champ of the modern era, I hope he goes past the 300 day barrier and dare I say Honky Tonk Mans record reign!

Don't you guys think Wade Barett and Cody Rhodes picked the wrong time to leave? with the brand split I think there'd have been more oppourtunity for them creatively especially on Smackdown. Could have re-established them as main-eventers, there's a big lack of depth in the SD main-event scene they just have Ambrose, Cena and Styles. They need to continue the good work with Mizz/Ziggie and establish them as top guys and especially Bray Wyatt.

The worked shoots on Smackdown are amazing :))) SD doesn't give a single fish and blur the lines between kayfabe and reality to make segments and promos edgier/more-intense, I love that

I think Bray Wyatt should win the Royal Rumble and the WrestleMania main-event should be Bray Wyatt vs AJ Styles for the WWE World Championship.

Smackdown was great again [MENTION=95766]leatherface58[/MENTION] and the womens division is thriving because of the fantastic booking, it's also great that Ryan Ward has experience booking the NXT ladies and knows how to utilize them best

On SD there's a big lack of depth in the main-event scene and they'd certainly have a lot more oppourtunity, heck even Heath Slater won a championship recently. With Ryan Ward writing the show he'd have kept their morale high by satisfying them creatively. But obviously they had been messed around a bit too much and in Wade's case he had this knack for getting injured the moment WWE would push him, they can always return at some point.

Doubt either will return anyway.

But what it is that wwe have booked them so poorly in the past it would take something monumental for wwe to put them over as legitimate threats. Wwe dropped the ball big time with both and also with Sandow

I know, but going by what I've seen on SD after the brand split they chose the wrong time to leave if they were purely unhappy due to creative. Likes of Mizz, Ziggie etc are all being repackaged as credible upper tier talent and are being utilized effectively, same can be said for Styles and Ambrose. Just need them to get the ball rolling with Wyatt to.

But I think Cody and Wade also left because they were burned out, WWE schedule is intense. Big time mistake firing Sandow, that was stupid; he's being booked better already in TNA.

Smackdown is proving to be more entertaining than raw atm. Hopefully Miz has some more credible challengers for the intercontinental championship don't see Ziggler as that atm.

Wwe will mess Wyatt up, I mean why make him lose to Kane?:facepalm:

John O'Clock was laying eggs in the ring during his run. If you manage to have mediocre matches with Booker T and Eddie, then you officially suck. His smug character work was top class though. Anyone who incites riots is clearly a very good heel.

KO is the man. As for Bray, I think he should just be called the eater of pinfalls like a sign said. Probably the worst booked wrestler since Kane himself. I bet Orton is going over him to prepare for a feud with AJ. Poor Bray should probably go to TNA to get a title lol.

Speaking of TNA, who would have thought Broken Matt is the greatest thing in Pro wrestling today?

One of the greatest pure heels from the 2000's, he was an absolute heat magnet and gold on the microphone at pissing people off. He wasn't bad at all in the ring, got a decent title match out of Cena at mania 21, fantastic series of matches vs Undertaker and I enjoyed the texas bull rope match vs Eddie. All in all a solid A/R performer, especially for a man his size.

Incredible gimmick, but he always had talent creatively and was underutilized in the WWE; should have been world champion there. The mattitude version 2.2 character was amazing to, still need to watch deletion part 2. There were fans during the dudleys segment few weeks back chanting delete! delete! he's incredibly over, wish he'd return to the WWE but the schedule is unappealing for these veterans now.

I seriously don't know what's up, there could be somebody who has a petty grudge against Wyatt for something really stupid.....

Either that or WWE are taking advantage of the fact that Wyatt is a yes man, maybe Bray needs to test his value to the WWE as well.
 
CWC has been a great reminder of why I love wrestling, fantastic tournament and best show of the year. Very impressed by TJP, Metalic, Swan, Alexander, Ali, Daivari, Ibushi, Sabre and THE Brian Kendrik; hoping some of the names have been signed for RAW's cruserweight division.

He wrestles for Lucha Underground now :)) was desperate to get out his WWE contract, kept getting injured but WWE wanted to keep him around because they make quiet a bit of cash from his merch. In Lucha I hear he's having a terrific run.
 
The Miz has been getting nuclear heat since that insane promo on Daniel Bryan. And now he is openly copying Bryan's move set. :))

AJ should be champ for a long time. Highly entertaining.

KO and AJ as champions is best for business.

Austin is way too low, assume it's because you don't rate his in-ring work. He was working a gimmick in the AE era that didn't require him to be a technical wizzard, neck injury and also due to more emphasis on entertainment. But he remained over not just because of character work but in-ring psychology, story telling, fantastic selling and ring awareness; Kurt Angle credits Austin for carrying him during matches when he was signed and fast tracking his development.

Watch Austins matches in WCW and prior to his neck injury. He was signed by Vince due to his wrestling abillity and that was the foundation of his "RingMaster* gimmick because he was incredibly sound when it came to technique.

But your list is more of your personal favourites so can't argue with it, no kane? :))

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is reportedly interested in having Matt Hardy come back to the company. WWE has sent out feelers through intermediaries, with the word being that Triple H wants him once his contract expires in the spring.

Matt has a ton of creative control (in regards to his character) in TNA, can make his own schedule (in comparison a full time WWE schedule is brutal) and between his TNA deal, independent date and merchandise sales is doing extremely well financially. Which is why it's probably unlikely he or Jeff will return to the WWE unless they allow a great degree of flexibility.

At best, you could swap Jericho and Austin but the others book themselves. I am surprised you included Broccoli in top 10 wrestlers of all time and not Kurt Angle who was pretty much the perfect wrestler. He could play any character, could be goofy, serious, intense. He also had perhaps the GOAT feud with Broccoli.

Broccoli simply has not done enough to be considered in the top 10. Sure he had a great run from 2002-2004 and then 2012-14 but he barely wrestles in his second run and when he does, it is all wet farts like his Summerslam match with Orton which while intense, was a poor way to send the audience home.

If it came to wrestling, then Hulk "I won't sell for you, brother" Hogan will not make it to the top 20.

I have no idea about Kane's drawing power since he was champion for a day. Cannot judge a man based on that. But he is still over and getting good pops.

Austin is in the top three of most fans and experts, Jericho and Angle rarely make the top 10. Brock criminally underatted and a once in a life time talent, his second run has cemented his ATG status thanks to the MMA background and drawing power who Vince can utilize for big occasions frequently when Taker is too old now and Rock rarely works a program.

Hulk was fine in that era and especially with the right attitude and opponent, plus he knew how to get the audience to suspend their disbelief and use ring psychology, guys these days have to break their back and neck to get a reaction, still it rarely elevates the match. He had a Match of the Year candidate with Warrior of all people, Hogan was no in ring general but good when he wanted to be.

Kane was world champ on Smackdown as well but I don't think it was for long, they never saw him as a guy to carry the company on their shoulders

If they do sensible booking, Raw can leave SD in the dust simply on the superior talent it has. But instead of making logical decisions, they simply muddy the waters.

Smackdown is making good decision after good decision.

Usos are getting booed? Turn them heel.
Slater and Rhyno underdog story? Give them a happy ending.
Becky Lynch is ready? Pull the trigger.

The only nagging issue is Brother Bray and I hope they fix that.

I am rooting for KO, Jericho, Cesaro and Charlotte.

Rest all is meh.

The only nagging issue is Brother Bray and I hope they fix that.

The card has great potential, I might get the network.

I think it's only a matter of time before we see Bray in the main-event scene, if he isn't then something would be seriously wrong backstage with the politics.....because at the top of the card on SD there is a big lack of depth, I still expect Cesaro or Zayn to join SD

CoC today and I don't care... Probably the first WWE PPV in a while I'm going to givel a miss.
 
Sheamus v Cesaro was on the brink of something really special but they ended the match with a F finish :facepalm: it was the main match I was so excited for. Only way they can make it up to me is by having them fight it out in a 30-60 min Iron Man match

All the other contests I sought of just watched the highlights, Jericho is on a bit of a winning streak isn't he :)) maybe another world title run? :afridi Owens retains after an underwhelming match which was overbooked, I really don't want him to be a chicken sh!t heel. Thankfully Seth didn't injure anyone.

Reigns v Russev was decent, overall the PPV was average.

That was a great match to I watched the highlights :)) although was most excited for Sheamus v Cesaro both tried to kill each other, it was like seeing Malik and Akmal fans battle it out :yk

I like RR, has improved significantly no more goofy crap and he's always aggressive :afridi and in-ring work is great, look at Seth Rollins for example the guy literally injures his opponents :facepalm: IWC will hate on Roman regardless though

Damn, we all know that the USOS are terrific in-ring talents but this heel turn has done them a world of good! loving the mannerisms they display and new found intensity
 
OMG! Mizz vs Ziggler has to be the feud of the year, the in-ring work, character work and promo segments have been consistently brilliant! credit to the creative team lead by Ryan Ward to. Make sure you check out the Mizz/Ziggie segment from this weeks SD, at no mercy Ziggie put his career on the line so he could get one more shot at the IC title. Man the IC title has not been so important in years, you got guys putting their career on the line for it and champions using it to hold the GM hostage! Brilliant!

Now on to Ambrose v Styles, final segment left to watch...

I've always been objective and give credit where due, RR character wise is a lot better then 12 months ago and his in-ring work has improved significantly but the non-nonsensical smarks will never cheer for him even if he had a 5* match.

Do you remember what happened when Edge and Y2J were partners :afridi I know KO is a heel but then again he could easily become a tweener for a high profile program against the dastardly Jericho :))

I got 10/10. And no I did not cheat. The only tricky bit for me was the 1372 question but I remembered it being a weird number.

This was actually pretty easy.

And I hope KO does not become a tweener. Let them get the tag titles off New Day and hold it for a month or so and then drop it to Enzo and Cass cause The Club has clearly been ruined.

I got 9, the slammy award one was wrong. I voted for 2009 I think. That was easy but sky sometimes have quiz's that are a lot more tricky.

They want New Day to break the overall longest reigning tag champs record which is held by demolition, they are not far away now and will lose the titles once that has been broken.

Club still have a big future and will remain a threat just need better booking.

Am certain Jericho will work a title program could be at mania and maybe Jeri-KO winning the tag titles will play a role in that. If KO don't become a tweener, Jericho could easily turn face with his current gimmick

Orton was insanely over during 2004 when he turned face against HHH. Then HHH buried him and he never really recovered. Orton was red hot again during his "punting" phase in 2009 but then HHH was there again with da shovel.

Roman is a very good wrestler but he is no Orton. Orton is surprisingly very over today but on Smackdown, everyone is doing a very good job.

This generations Orton not in terms of in-ring work but stature when it comes to individual company value/worth to the WWE, he isn't going to replace Cena they've seen that but his worth is more likely to be on Ortons level in the long run

Bret Hart is an absolute legend and the greatest technician of all time, even HBK marks have incredible respect for him. He is the embodiment of the perfect in-ring worker, never injured anyone in his career and actually understands the concept of what is meant to be done between the ropes. Bret was a master at telling a story between the ropes and getting the audience emotionally invested by selling and simple moves, really knew how to control the pace without risking his own safety or that of his opponent.
 
KO and Jericho are GOLD, the feud I predicted that could happen in the future due to how Jericho is being built up was being teased a little.

Creative may have been onto something with Cesaro and Sheamus tag team :))

The RAW main-event was excellent between Sasha and Charlotte, Sasha is so sound technically and Charlotte carries herself like an absolute star in terms of her aura and in-ring presences very much reminds me of her dad, it's the little things; e.g mannerisms during entrance and in the ring. Love how Sasha sold her championship win and how devastated Charlotte was. Great stuff but SD will wipe the floor with the B Show THIS SUNDAY!! WHEN JOOOOOHNN CENAAAAAAA takes on Styles and Ambrose in a spit swapping makeout match!!!!!

Austin was a big fan of him to, nothing came of his career after spirit squad broke up although he was the first among them all to receive a push even before Ziggler
