I don’t understand how anyone expected anyone us to try and chase .. the pitch is uneven
I don't think he likes to defend short balls or let it go far too long.
Would be one of the highest successful chases ever on this pitch. I'm happy with Pujara blunting all day
Well, he needs to buckle down and control his instincts then. He just has to look at the other end (Pujara) for inspiration.
Pujara breaks his record.
At the SCG if I recall right he was 12 off 100 balls. Now he's gotten to 11 off 100.

If I recall then the last highest successful chase was 230 odd runs 40-50 years ago here.
You cannot force one style play on another. Gill even with his ariel shots has played it relatively safe.
I think its 170/3 by england in a winning cause.
A drawn series would probably be a fair result.
If anything India had only one really bad day and that was being bundled out for 36.
Not forcing, but watching and learning from Pujara, like he just did now when he left a bouncer go. Gill is a smart batsman and he would not want to lose out on an opportunity to score a 100 and get his team to safety by playing a rash shot.
Aussies have forgotten there is a set of stumps down there to hit.
Yeah, if we somehow get to 180, the chase will be on.If India does not lose any wicket in the 2nd session then they can try. Aus pacers will be tired by then. Very slim chance though.
Actually it was one bad session. even in that test India had secured a 30 run 1st innings lead.
Australia won't bowl negative lines.India showing some positive intent post lunch. If these 2 stay till the end of this session then India may think about going after the runs in the final session. But then Aus can always restrict then by negative bowling. remember, this is a test match so wides wouldn't be given often as ODIs.
Lol, the aussies praying for rain now. They have been mentally decimated by a resolute Indian team that has just refused to take no for an answer at every stage
Pujara has been hit 5-6 times already but not Gill, why is that?
14 off that Starc over!
100 run partnership of which Gill has scored 80+ lol.
Oh no, Hrsha on. Time for a lot of talking without saying anything.

Getting Harsha confused with Shane Warne are we?

I don’t see India winning though - a couple of wickets will make it almost impossible.
A lot of careers are going to get end for the Aussies if they lose.
