What's new

Unbeaten 89 by Pant helps India to a 3-wicket win over Australia in 4th Test, India win series 2-1

Excellent innings from Gill comes to an end. Keep working kid and you'll break lots of batting records this decade

That's a broken finger for sure.

Retire hurt, Pujara.

This is what happens with uneven bounce. Many teams have lost test from this stage.

India might have to self destruct for Aus to win otherwise they look completely shot mentally and physically

It won't be easy, but Aus has opened the door now. If Pujara can not bat then it will become easier for Aus.

It has been one of the best test series in history.

2nd last session of the series with 4 tests and still 3 results are possible. Most likely is draw here, but still.

Oh look an Indian injury has been miraculously cured! :91:

191 runs required in 51 overs... that's about 3.8 pro. Not impossible :)

India has survived half of the total overs.

India I think will win but the following needs to happen

a 100-120 qucikfire (ish) Rohit/Gill partnership to counter the Pujara/Rahane incoming tuk tuk
Pujara/Rahane to score the most amount of runs they can using the least amount of possible balls, ideally they both score 30s at a "quick" 40 SR.
Pant plays his usual game, scores a 60 odd at 60-70 SR with Sundar and Thakur to see them home.

However if Pant fails then they should just close shop like the last time and go for the draw.

So far things are going to plan, although Gill had to play for both himself and Rohit.

Performance of Shubman Gill in the Test series against Australia:

45(65)
35*(36)
50(101)
31(64)
7(15)
91(146)

259 runs from 3 Tests at an average of 51.80 including 2 fifty against one of the World best attack Starc, Cummins, Lyon, Hazelwood

Bas karde bhai just need a draw..

Yep. Pujara can go back to what he was doing before lunch. Just play out. Gill would have kept the score board ticking and things would have remained exciting. But with him out it is less than 10% chance for getting to the target. Rahane and Pujara should be clear now that we need to play out just like what Vihari and Ashwin did last test.

Shows what we missed in the Adelaide test.

Pujara is playing one of the ATG inning whoever don't agree just get lost .its my opinion

Our team physio deserves a 200% pay rise.

Pujara is resolute but too slow he should’ve been well past 50 by now and India would be on course for a win.

Why is Pujara taking these blows instead of ducking out of bouncers? Not like he's trying to score off any of them.

I'm backing the draw at this point.

Only way for Oz to win is Lyon to play a blinder.

Quicks can batter Pujara all day but he won't go away.

Just don't let Lyon get to 400 test wickets in this series.

For having half the team injured? Certainly not. He and the trainer should be answerable for so much injuries.

Why would the physio be answerable for injuries? Thats like saying doctors are responsible for heart attack patients who eat too much fat and sugar.

Warne still delusional that we are looking to chase this.

He has a poor technique for the short ball. He has the classic "modern player with helmet" technique where he has the forward press instead of the back & across. So the result is nice positioning for pitched up deliveries & can even rock back to cut but no way ready to duck a bouncer properly.

If you are extremely quick handed like a Pietersen with this technique you can hook off the front foot but Pujara isn't that agile.

He taking a blow when he is not able to judge. He does not want to put bat anywhere.

Thats never been his natural game. And on this pitch, you need one guy to play the anchor.

Hes playing at less than 20 strike rate and the target isn’t out of reach as a top order batsmen he should be Scoring quicker Gill had a strike rate of 60 and didn’t look troubled.

I believe the physio of sports team along with the trainer does some preventive maintenance also. Doctors would held responsible if the patient who has been hospital for one month has had an increase in cholestrol and sugar levels if they have been only eating hospital food.

But one things is sure if they making runs then Australia will think about saving runs ( i know we r not winning) that's where some edge my find vacant places

So? He played the same way in the 2018 series and won that for us. This is test cricket not T20 to go guns blazing on a fifth day pitch with uneven bounce.

Warne trying to make the case that Australia's lack of wickets is mostly due to luck favouring the Indian batsmen.

Are the national team physios the same for the IPL?

Scoring more now looks set up for an exciting finish.
