[VIDEOS] 3-Day practice match between Australia A [122, 91/2] and Pakistan [428, 152/3d] drawn

I want to see Naseem bowl a back of a length one at the armpit or ribcage like he did to Khawaja, followed by a full wide one or a yorker.

Brilliant spell from the 16 year old though. Really troubled the batsmen and hit the bat hard. Unlucky that Haris dropped his catch. Unlikely he will be given another over in this spell.

I think he is yard or two faster then Shaheen so misbah will pick him if they are serious of giving Aus some fire

Naseem gets another over. Probably want him to bowl as much as possible due to him not bowling yesterday.

Has naseem shown enough to nudge ahead Imran for the test spot?

Yes, there should be no doubt about it as they are completely different types of bowlers. Naseem is aggressive, Imran is not.

I'd have him in the XI over any bowler not named Shaheen.

If Waqar/Misbah/Azhar watch this spell and decide to leave him out then they need to get their eyes checked.

Wicket for naseem from a beautiful ball. Absolute peach. Rearing up from back of a length going past the face, hitting the glove and through to the keeper. That was quick.

awesome spell of bowling has to say. Naseem should make final XI ahead of trundler IK.

Wow well deserved magnificent bowling if it wasn’t for the ****** foot marks he have got a lot more wickets

knowing well Misbah he will surely go for his old buddy instead of a young player.

That was an amazing spell of bowling from Naseem. Nice to see him get the wicket too.

Naseem was economical and looked like a genuine wicket taker.

Aussie batsmen can't relax, Shaheen replaces Naseem. I would love to see them bowl in tandem.

Really good. He has his lengths right. Accurate and quick. Getting some balls to seam. He has beaten the bat twice every over. He also hit Khawaja on the arm twice in 2 balls with a short ball.

Ok thanks i did watch his first over and he beat the bat twice. His rythm was incredible for first 6 balls, also considering wat he must have gone through in last couple of days

can somebody please tell me what is pakistans best batsman doing at short leg....one hit and he can get injured surely Juniors stand there

Clearly abid ali is not a test / odi keeper.

At the max. he can be persisted with in T20 games where you dont need a specialist keeper and a part timer with better batting capabilities can do the job.

Very well spotted actually he should not be on the field during this garbage time.

i think test will be too much of a risk ..you are right but one days and 20 20s for definately..

Well in that case we need Saffy back as Rizwan wont even get in my 2nd elevens...

Commentators just pointed something out, that Pakistani fast bowlers all have different actions and they are quite unique, where as SENA bowlers have similar actions a lot of the times.

So looks like abbas will sit out , there is no way pakistan can leave out imran khan now. Yasir shah is there to bowl 30 overs a day so he will be there.

Yeah, they'll likely go with Imran as the third option cause he's in form.

Shaheen
Naseem
Imran
Yasir

Let both youngsters attack with the new ball while Imran comes in to keep the run rate in check.

They might not win the match but it's a good bowling attack based on what's available.

Yeah, Naseem will be even better with the new ball. Central Punjab gave him the new ball in that 6fer game and he swung away and could swing it in slightly. Also he will get more pace and bounce with the new ball.

Not sure if he'll be given the new ball. They might do what Australia do with Cummins and keep him first change purely because he remains effective with an older ball and Hazelwood doesn't. Similar situation with Abbas

PAK 428, 152/3 decl
AUSA 122, 83/2 (33.3) CRR: 2.48
Day 3: 3rd Session - Australia A need 376 runs

Imran is looking toothless this inning as the ball isn't really moving. Also due to how wide of the crease he comes from it is very easy to leave him as it is never going to swing or seam back in.

Ok, we need Rizwan back desperately as keeper. Abid might be a good batsman, but his keeping is village level.

imran is a trundler simpe as that..he was picked as a reserve for this tour and due to baas resting he got a chance and did well

IMO if they won't give Naseem the new ball, they should include Abbas in the attack.

Shaheen
Abbas
Naseem

Imran only makes sense as the third bowler. Giving the new ball to him is almost guaranteed to end in carnage.

Don't worry. These two will bowl in tandem for the next 15 years.

That is if Misbah and his succeeding selectors in the coming years have brain cells intact.

Really looking forward to the next 15 years. Babar, Shaheen and Naseem will hopefully rock the cricketing world.

Leaving Abbas out in Adelaide will be criminal. Ball moving around under lights, thats his game

I don't understand why can't both abbas and Imran play? Unless you want Musa in the xi

Shaheen, Naseem, Imran, abbas
And ifthikar as the no. 6 spin all rounder. I mean he won't be worse than yasir shah.

That's the only way the two can play together. But you can't have them together in a 3-man pace attack, it has to be a 4-man pace attack. Naseem and Shaheen can't be left out.

Misbah is likely going to select Yasir Shah.

I don't see him going with a 4-man pace attack even if the pitch was covered with live grass.

Pakistan needs to find who are their best slip fielders in the possible lineup as Pak cant afford to drop catches in the actual tests as dropping a catch of maybe Smith and Warner is pretty much a match changing event.

In other cricketing news, 17 year old Jake Fraser-McGurk has made a 50 on his Sheffield Shield debut for Victoria. Nice day for the teens in Australia today.

Not Haris or Azhar.

Asad should be in there, Iftikhar seems decent. Maybe Babar. Shan is supposed to be a really good fielder. If Imam plays then he can go Gully.

Nasim Shah is promising, his control on length was heartening to see. He looked better than all young bowlers ( Hussinan, mosa, Rauf etc)...

Nasim and Afridi are must, they need to pick one of Abbas and Imra, fourth bowler will be most likely Yasir. Ifthakar is also must. Harris is looking out of sort, that’s the only place that is in question, maybe Abid, other than that this team looks good for first test.

Call me an optimist but I think we can surprise Aus in atleast one test a lot has to go our way but I believe Aus are beatable and we have enough firepower to eek out a test

Also 2 of the batsmen from the current Australia A team will play the test series, and Tim Paine is a sitting duck. There will be no point in trying to get Smith out, just try get every one around him out.

This team is shaping up to be a lot better than the one that toured in 2016/17. The pace attack looks way better and so does the middle order.

Ted there is an outside chance albeit a small one I hope we bat better then what we did in South Africa as without runs on the board the inexperienced Pacers will falter

Pakistan's 16-year-old quick Naseem Shah has given Australia's batsmen plenty to think about with a fiery spell in the drawn pink-ball tour match against Australia A.

Two days after the death of his mother, Naseem delivered a bruising display of fast bowling at Perth Stadium that culminated in the teenager dismissing Marcus Harris (20) with a fearsome bouncer that caught the left-hander's edge.

Boasting an unusual technique and impressive pace, the right-arm quick finished with figures of 1-21 before Australia A captain Alex Carey and Pakistan counterpart Azhar Ali shook hands with half an hour left on Wednesday evening.

Australia A were 2-91 in their second innings at the conclusion of the three-day match, still 367 runs shy of Pakistan's tally after a dominant display by the tourists.

Usman Khawaja survived to be 37 not out, although it was likely to be of little consequence ahead of Thursday's Test squad announcement.

Left-arm paceman Shaheen Afridi earlier had Test hopeful Joe Burns caught behind on 11, two balls after he was dropped at first slip.

It was another untimely failure for Burns, who was clean-bowled by Imran Khan for a golden duck in the first innings as Australia A crumbled to be all out for 122.

Pakistan declared their second innings at 3-152 after tea, having overall handled the conditions far better than the hosts.

Iftikhar Ahmed, promoted to No.4 for the second dig, finished unbeaten on 79 and opener Shan Masood scored 65 before falling to Travis Head's part-time spin.

Ashes reserve paceman Michael Neser (2-10) was the pick of the bowlers, trapping skipper Azhar Ali lbw and having Haris Sohail caught at gully.

Neither Azhar nor Sohail managed to compile a significant score in either innings but Pakistan will take plenty of confidence from Iftikhar and Masood having followed up on centuries to Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq in the first dig.

National coach Justin Langer and chief selector Trevor Hohns met on Wednesday to pick their 12-man squad for the first Test at the Gabba starting November 21, with none of Australia A's batsmen having made an irresistible case for selection.

Australia A XI: Marcus Harris, Joe Burns, Usman Khawaja, Travis Head, Will Pucovski, Cameron Bancroft, Alex Carey (c & wk), Michael Neser, Jhye Richardson, Sean Abbott, Riley Meredith

Pakistan XI: Shan Masood, Azhar Ali (c), Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq, Iftikhar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, (wk), Yasir Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Imran Khan
