No massive protests so far by the PTI today. SMQ is busy on TV instead of leading protests.
SMQ says the attack on army places was done by the people in government. Look at the way he has backed out and not backing his parties supporters.
This is such a toothless leadership group. After Imran the party won't exists. It will be just another PPP and PMLN even if PTI leaders decide to keep the party.
I think as far as revolutions go, Pakistanis are mostly too well fed and living is not hard enough for it. Whether that's because the can keeps getting kicked down the road with endless loans and credit from foreign sources I don't know, but there obviously isn't enough hardship to make people come out in force like they might do in the middle east or south America.
But I do think there is a slow revolution happening here. People aren't dumb, they are becoming aware they are being played, the army is no longer trusted like it once was. Moving against Khan isn't going to be forgotten, it might well be the watershed moment where the military hold is finally broken. Or at least the seeds of it have been sown.

Who is smq?

heard the armys guy SMQ been arrested? true ?
Never trusted Qureshi, I think this is just to give him 'legit' vibes. Sprinkle some fake blood over his crisp kameez and make him look like one among the people. Soon after IK's arrest he came out with a keep calm statement, looked very staged.
i have been annoyed by this keep calm statement.
Are any pti leaders leading the protest?
Alot of stuff is happening in Peshawar. Pindi islamabad issue is that majority are govt workers so any protest here will only happen if people from otuside the city arrive.
Heard caravans from KP are entering Islamabad/Pindi.

All are lotas. IK by not creating a true succession line means that the establishment will split the party and divide it between these lotas

Where was IK supposed to get angles from this ocean of lotas that we call Pakistani politicians who would win the seats and get IK the votes to have gotten in power back then?
There are no Farishtaas you looking for, for IK to pick.

Key are the armed forces in this.
Imran Khan: Supporters steal peacocks from army quarters
Supporters of Pakistan's former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, have stormed several army compounds, after his recent arrest.
Footage from Lahore on social media showed protesters inside an army housing compound destroying furniture inside.
Several people were seen afterwards roaming the streets holding peacocks, which they say came from the commander's house.

No way!!
Is there a source for that?
Fawad arrested too I mean it’s clearly a witch hunt, everyone claiming it’s “law taking its course” is the most biased person ever.
No way!!
Is there a source for that?
US must mind its own business and let Pakistanis decide their own future. Imran already blamed US when he was kicked out of his PM chair.

This is exactly what I said yesterday.. one cannot rule out Establishment’s involvement in violence to further Martial Law, seems to have backfired.
The Establishment hires clowns too.
Why have pakistanis given them 75 years?
Because we are stupid. Unfortunately, i dont have an excuse or sound reasoning for it. Its a mixture of them using hostile neighbors, religion, geolitical events to their advantage, etc. but above all its the people who it all comes down to. The generations before us and to some extent my generation as well did not think too much of it. We always thought they were watching over us and striking the balance between their power and the corrupt crooks who kept getting elected. But now we are seeing they were all the same all this time.
And they have run our country into the ground economically.
For a change Pakistanis should stop calling them " The Establishment". They are the army and call them that. Fear of the name creates more fear.
I had once read a book. It said quoting a Pakistani army officer that a COAS once told a PM that, why, One who has 750000 soldiers at his beck and call, will take orders from someone else?
Seems the army's loyalty is towards the general not the country.
Cabinet wants no leniency for those involved in May 9 violence
Sanaullah condemns attack on sensitive national institutions
The federal cabinet on Friday, while endorsing the statement of the Pakistan Army spokesperson, called for no leniency against those involved in the organised violence against the state, Constitution, and law, besides hurting the nation's dignity, following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in a corruption case on May 9.
The cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, also called for making such elements an example by taking strict action against them under the Constitution and the law.
The meeting expressed concerns over the situation in the country, observing that through such violence the leader of a "miscreant and foreign-funded" party had inflicted damage to Pakistan which the arch-enemy even could not do during the last 75 years.
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar briefed the meeting about the arrest of the PTI chief in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case as per law and his sudden release on the order of the Supreme Court (SC).

Lay down the law Rana sab
Him doing his job should not be a matter of happiness! That is what he's there for!
It should be. Because it seems to be ok to encourage breaking the law these days
