PDM is a legal govt, issue is army not PDM.

He was arrested by army not by civil police force.

Also, Nawaz shareef and and Shebaz shareef are in Pakistan.

We kept hearing foreigners tell locals that they dont stand up, today locals did stand up.

Overseas Pakistanis should also stand up in UK, there is no excuse. If there is than they shouldn't talk. The likes of [MENTION=1269]Bewal Express[/MENTION] should be protesting outside nawazs house.

But no one wants to risk his nationality.

PTI Senator Faisal Javed has distanced the party from instances of vandalism and setting public property alight during protests in the wake of former prime minister Imran Khan’s arrest earlier today.

Javed said “miscreants” unrelated to the PTI were planted and were actually the cause for the instances of setting things on fire. He said the party leadership had issued clear instructions to workers to remain peaceful.

If you cant join them because you scared of the army, atleast give some verbal support.

the alignment is to bring sharifs down, but this PPP isnt same as BBs PPP. This PPP being part of the estblishment is a sell out and i would be reluctant to cast my vote for them.

You didn't read between the lines

'Public' property means roads and building.

Army property isnt considered public property.

And I agree about the party politicians. They are mainly cast aways and lotas from other parties. When the heat is on many of them will try to find a way out.

Imran sadly sidelines mainly good activists on his ascent to the top and brought in these figures instead.

Thankfully the people haven't abandoned him despite his numerous dances with these lotas.

i get it, civilian public property shouldn't be damaged and that is right, but army property falls under that aswell somewhat.

Its good the people stood up but its a shame that PTIs leadership failed. I wonder from what face will these guys ask for tickets and how can Pakistanis even vote them in as MNAs. The party leader is arrested and they are still trying to appease the army. THe party leadership has no shame and are typical politicians.

Prob Bilawal on the way to some fast food joint abroad. They would use a PAF plane if IK was being moved.

PTI have stated IK will appear at 8am in ISB and for people to turn up.

First of all IK doesnt need to show up in court. The lawyer from both sides will repreent and it will be counted good enough.

second IK's whereabouts are not known, and a private plane can be used in this case as the army airbase has private planes runing.

PTI leadership is scared of the army which is why they are requesting protestors to shift the protest to highcourt. IK showing up to court is highly unlikely tomr.

Firstly, by your own admission you are broke? Correct? Im not in the same situation, i live a lovely life so surely it should be your protesting while in Pakistan? Or are you happy wearing the same clothes daily?

I have a pretty bad feeling about this aswell. The current military high command are ruthless and will use all chess moves to stay in the power which is literally their lust. They have most high courts/judges in their bag and NAB is an indirect emulation of establishment.

We need millions of people to come out at GHQ Rawalpindi and Islamabad to stamp authority of people.

When Zab was arrested, his party leaders did not wear diapers and said do peaceful protest. When Zab himself was released he did not stay quiet and did traiin protest. Whne he was hanged his party leaders and his sons did not stay quiet and took action that saved the lives of many of PPP supporters.

So you dont care about your leader that you cant support. Than again you are a slave to your passport and will bow to it.

Plane doesnt have to be PAFs. It can be private.

THey will try to get a video statement out of him where they will force Imran to say that do peaceful protest. If a video hasnt come out yet that means Imran hasnt bowed down yet. While his party leaders have and are ******** themselves currently because they fear the army. SMQ and Faisal Javed showed their auqaat todya.

PMA shouldn't be attacked though, because alot of them there are young adults under training. yes they teach you the concept of bloody civilians there but still, its the place that makes your officers.

This is what should happen. These houses and all are irrelevent places. Protestors need to march to that one place in Rawalpindi.

THis can happen if some mard ka bacha PTI leader says it. Right now, everyone of them is mum even after their leader has been arrested.

If he gets killed god forbid than it will be too late if the PTI leaders decide to open there mouth.

One thing you have to accept after seeing them go quiet, that after Imran PTI cant exist as no one has the guts to lead it when he was in jail

Yasmine rashid and Falak Khan actually led from front. They inciting PTI workers to vandalise house of Corps Commander Lahore. She later lead the crowd to attack and set the house of fire.

You know it as well they do that our/your choices are very simple. Its either IK or those who are against him… those who have run this country into the ground.

bhai tell me one thing than. If tomr elections take place and IK wins and makes a statement that army helped in getting a free and fair election and than starts appeasing them, than what?

The situation is as such, i applaud his supporter for having the guts to target certain areas that many wont dare to. Takes alot of guts to do that.

But im not his supporter, I wont risk myself for a guy who can take a uturn which even his own fans admit

But what acts of violence are we talking about? People are attacking the military and army people. Not civilians. I think the situation demands it. Its come a point where we cannot continue to hope that better sense will prevail. The establishment is a cabal of crooks. They are running Pakistan like a gustapo state.

I have scrolled through the posts and can sense the anguish. I can understand some are upset and want to protest by democratic means…..but it looks a bit scary from outside, so STAY SAFE please … consider/reconsider going to protests etc. especially if you have people dependent on you.

Best of luck to you in these tough times. Hope Pak comes out of this quickly and democratically strongly

The only PTI leaders who actually took part in the protests with the common man were Dr kashida and Zartaj Gul. The others are too afraid of upsetting the army and risking an arrest.

A revolt is required from within the army.
Someone needs to stand up aur in chaar paanch gernaylon ko urraa dey - this this easiest and quickest way to remove the serpent’s head.

Interesting that most of the riotous protests are happening in Punjab but the crackdown is happening in Quetta and Karachi

Foreign countries including the United States (US), United Kingdom (UK) and Canada have issued new travel advisories for their citizens citing political unrest after the arrest of former premier and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan was arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case. Protests sparked across the country after Imran Khan’s arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.

Following the massive protests in different parts of the country, foreign countries issued travel advisories for their citizens and diplomatic staff.

US travel advisory

The US Embassy issued travel alert for its citizens for Pakistan. The latest advisory read, “The U.S. Embassy is monitoring earlier reports of clashes between demonstrators and police in Islamabad and also sporadic demonstrations underway or being planned elsewhere throughout Pakistan.

“Because of potential traffic disruptions and restrictions, U.S. Embassy Islamabad has canceled all consular appointments for tomorrow, May 10, 2023,” it added.

The US citizens have been advised to exercise heightened vigilance and avoid locations with large crowds, review personal security plans, carry identification and follow requests from law enforcement, be aware of surroundings and monitor local media for updates.

UK advisory
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office advised British citizens to avoid all political demonstrations, large crowds of people and public events and be prepared to change your plans as necessary.

He will not come out 100%, let's not forget he's 70+

I have a feeling they will do something to affect his health, something that will not look obvious to the public. This is my suspicion.

These countries are fully supportive of the coup. The West wants puppets and it has found them in these Generals and their puppets

Major is happy. But like I said in the other thread..they have laid the seeds of future problems. The country is going to continue as a basket case..always teetering. Never quite moving forward...until the reckoning..then they will cry for a khan..because what's coming after him will not be so compromising.

If the Pak Army had the audacity to dispose of a wildly popular civilian leader like Zulfikar Bhutto, what makes you think they will treat Imran differently ?

its still going on, but it never gained any pace and died out yesterday by night time. Roads were empty.

Sill small numbers protesting lets see, but yes it was the short because PTIs own leadership got scared and ran away, so protestor had no one leading them. It was gonna die out.

Unless a leader in PTI leads them, the protest will finish soon.

I think as far as revolutions go, Pakistanis are mostly too well fed and living is not hard enough for it. Whether that's because the can keeps getting kicked down the road with endless loans and credit from foreign sources I don't know, but there obviously isn't enough hardship to make people come out in force like they might do in the middle east or south America.

But I do think there is a slow revolution happening here. People aren't dumb, they are becoming aware they are being played, the army is no longer trusted like it once was. Moving against Khan isn't going to be forgotten, it might well be the watershed moment where the military hold is finally broken. Or at least the seeds of it have been sown.
