I would say Pakistan ke haar mohaale main 1000 Tendulkars hain, but RAW kidnaps them and brings them over....

Do you guys even know your OWN players (if you are Indians)?
Sachin played his 90th ODI in Nov 1994.... here are the batting positions they batted in their first 90 ODIs.... Sachin did not bat REALLY LOWER DOWN the order... both batted at almost the same positions... not much difference in #4 and #5..... and see how many time Sachin opened... in his first 90 ODIs.

Kohli apart from a few series where SRT, Sehwag and Gambhir all 3 played, has played at no. 3. That's more than 50%.
Sachin's more than 70% was in the middle order.
And look at how Tendu's averaged climbed when he started opening, at the age of 20. :)

Kids will believe your claims about Waqar against India, he has quite a few expensive spells in odis at his 'peak' against India.
India's ODI batting lineup was never 'great' before Ganguly and even Dravid's arrival.
When it did become strong in 96-97, Pakistan lost in Toronto and Dhaka.

he was at his most destructive between 1990-1992..and i was talking about tests where he hasnt played against india much..

Had at least 3-4 bad decisions on that tour bro, was on top of his game Tendu and completely pwned McGrath, Warne as far as i remember. Took them to cleaners.

What happened after 1992? Was he afraid of Batman or something? :danish This is such a lame excuse seriously, even Waqar himself would be ashamed to use it. Tendu is only what 4-5 years younger to Waqar and Wicky kept playing for another 11 years after 92 and to his credit (as he is a legend no doubt) he even took a 5fer at Sharjah in 2000.



Like i said before, you started off trolling India but you're now actually trolling your own legends by disgracing them with phattu excuses.

He performed against every opposition everywhere is a decade with Many World Class Bowlers.

I'm talking about ODIs, I am a Ganguly fan from that series. no Indian has come close to that performance of 2 tons against the 'best' attacks of Pak and Aus on bouncy pitches.
Anyway, Warne getting that underserved wkt. of SRT in one test, I am not forgetting that easily. no issues with McGrath, but Warne was pathetic and umpire gave him a gift which even aussie media acknowledged.

Waqar did not play against India during his peak. Waqar was at his peak during 1990-96... he did not play 1992 WC because of injury.

Look at the test matches.... here is Waqar's test record during that time... 206 wickets in 36 tests.... at ave of 19.86. Guess how many tests Waqar played vs India during that time? ZERO....

I agree, I even remember Imran Khan playing some of those.but on those 'flat' pitches Aaquib Javed's new ball bowling was always more threatning even to our inform openers. even Wasim didn't have that impact.
 
Some people have mistaken his ODI form for Test credentials, he has a long way to go in Tests.

Sub-continental fans like to get ahead of themselves sometimes.

Kohli is a good bat, but needs some time to mature, like everyone else not named Bradman or Tendulkar.

The man is a legend in the making, no pressure there then.

Dude is playing very slow for whatever reason. 19 OFF 60. took 30 balls to score a run that day. Maybe he is taking undue pressure on himself and needs to relax. Test cricket is serious business but he is probably taking it too seriously to do well in it.
 
Oh come on guys, 2 bad innings doesn't suddenly mean he is a bad player. He is an extremely good ODI player and has done fairly well in tests. He has a test century in Australia and as he plays more test cricket he will develop into a good test player. He averages 50 + in ODI and has the highest ODI average for someone who has played as many games as himself and second highest ODI average in ODI for the current batch of players (after Hashim Amla) so it is extremely unfair to label him a ftb or overrated :facepalm:
 
give the boy some time he has temperament and potential to become a test player.

Before he started clicking people said the same thing about him in ODIs.Expect the same in tests as well. He is over thinking the game and once he gets his mind clear there is no stopping him.

Cause for concern Indian fans? He has scored 19, 14*, 19, 7, 6. Meanwhile Pujara has shined, so can't blame it on Kohli being young and inexperienced.

Kohli is a brilliant limited overs player no doubt. But perhaps the glitz and glamour of the IPL is ruining his Test skills, the ultimate challenge in cricket.

By the way, Umar Akmal was dropped from Pakistan's Test side even though he was playing away from home and had better numbers than this. Perhaps our selectors need to show a little more faith in Junior Akmal.

There is one innings left for Kohli in the current series, maybe he can show his immense talent in that innings.

not cracked tests yet.Pujara is better,with Rahane 2nd.Rohit would also do better imo
 
He has done well in Indias last two test series one of them in Australia.No one can deny his temperament or his ability.Its only time before he again starts scoring runs.

Akmal was our best batsman in NZ, Australia!
In England he was as bad as everyone else.
In West Indies, our most consistent and probably best batsman.
Failed in two innings and Misbah doesn't support players that plays positevely. If Misbah was Lara's captain, Lara could have been dropped for Asad Shafik!

Where as Kholi is concerned, he hasn't got the talent to be succesfull in the Test Arena! Even his first class records are mediocre.

He's a decent batsman who has yet to prove himself in Test matches.

Umar Akmal is the same. Decent bat, yet to do anything that warrants all the hype.

By the way, most posters arent saying he is rubbish, just enjoying where the Kohli is an ATG, Kohli will break Sachin's records hype has gone.....:D
 
He still has immense potential and he should play his shots in test cricket to rack up runs quickly, which will give him the confidence to rack up even more. He is playing too defensively these days which is the main problem.

what mark away from home? his only notable innings was in debut at Dunedin thats it!

I would take Kohli over Umar Akmal in a heart beat. Kohli has the temparement to succeed Akmal does not and I hate to say he never will.
