Anderson is not that bad against spin. He has played all his tests against teams with spin orientated attacks and has been reasonably successful so far including a century in the sub continent.

Careful start by NZ but sensible. Their preparation has been less than ideal with the warms up being played on rubbish pitches.

Not much pace or bounce in this pitch ether.

Why on earth did they give Ramdin the captaincy? He isn't even a test match standard player either.

Gayle's commitment to tests is questionable and chanders is not a long term option. Pacers get injured often. Samuels and shilly get called for their actions. Gotta see it from their point of view. I doubt they had much of a choice.

Darren Bravo springs to mind.

Who is responsible for WI team selection? Suleiman Benn has a horrid test record, Narine should play ahead of him regardless of whatever happens in this match.

Benn was picked on form. Narine was ruled out so they picked the next form spinner.

if benn isn't bowling well, Nikita Miller is another left armer...he has ridiculous FC stats :O averages 16, 1.95 econ :))) West Indies FC must be fun haha

West Indies should play very aggressively as the NZers are clearly here to tuk tuk :misbah

NZ have a set platform. Another 50 runs added without a wicket and westindies will be in trouble.

This pitch is going to turn throughout so first innings runs will be valuable regardless of how slow they come.

the turn will probably get worse so NZ shoulda made as much runs as possible..

Feel we have played into the pitch and conditions and played Sodhi who I feel is mediocre. Wagner should have played as he is a workhorse and can get reverse. Should play to your strengths. :wasim

Well , you need to play at least one specialist spinner.

Sodhi will learn , by playing in real matches.

Can't believe 100 is not up yet. F1 and French Open today is far more entertaining.

Some balls are turning alarmingly for first day that too at Sabina Park, both batsman playing really well.

Latham and Kane getting more positive. Seems like a good batting surface if you buckle down for a bit and then get positive. If you stay in your shell, a delivery will get you sooner rather than later.

The 3rd session is on, partnership is 162 between Latham and Williamson.

NZ will look for big total here.

If NZ were doing badly i get the feeling this thread would have 3 times the views lol

Taylor bowled really well on test return, got the wicket of Fulton with a great delivery.

TBF though, I've seen quadriplegics with more footwork than Peter Fulton...

watched the whole day's play!!! kane played brilliantly sluggish pitch but nzl did well

A dull day. Taylor and Roach got some good movement, but the pitch is slow. NZ batted well. They seemed overly cautious at times. I think they'll declare at 450+ tomorrow.

Kiwis likely to post a huge first innings total here , WI will have to bat well to draw.

NZ should get 200 more runs. McCullum, Neesham, Watling yet to come! all scored a century in their last match.
