Have to say for such a placid, slow and poor surface to be produced for a test match is typical of what we get now in the W.I in saying that Kiwis have got into a good position.

Both the set batsmen are gone , even Mc Cullum is gone for a cheap score.

This is the problem with the tuk tuk approach and lack of intent.

If NZ played at a moderate rate of 3rpo , then would have been at around the 350 run mark right now instead of 285 which is 65 runs short.

Its just not possible to get a big score in the region of 450-500 at this rate as the team will have to bat for 180 overs , impossible.

WI pulling things back can possibly restrict them to 350 or less.

NZ should get 400 at least after the start they had.

george: "Neesham could retire now from test cricket and break Bradman's record.#justsaying" He'll also break Andy Ganteaume's record...

:))

Neesham and Watling have been very impressive and have made sure at worst they will end up with a draw.

neesham is great find gives nzl another option with both bat and bowl nzl is always blessed with fast bowling all rounders

Why are New Zealand playing like England, slow and dull ? They were not like this before.

NZ should just slog out for about 550 or so after tea and then try to make inroads later today

so many byes conceded by ramdin in the match it seems the captaincy is taking a toll on his mind

NZ should be ashamed of themselves, England would have been all out twice by now instead of wasting their time like this

What a Great counter-attack ton by Neesham , just as when WI looked like bringing things into control Neesham scored a ton and pushed WI out of this test match and only two results are possible from hereon.

Neesham did the same thing against India in 2nd test , just when it looked like India could have a minute chance after dismissal of Watling , in comes Neesham and scores a near run a ball ton and sealing the series for NZ

Two tests , two tons and bot of them coming at a time when they were needed the most.

Watling too complimenting him very well.

Hardly any crowd no surprise considering how boring and one-sided this match has been so far. Pitch hardly has any venom for the bowlers. Yawn. No wonder Test Cricket is declining because most matches are like this.

can NZl push for a win or it will be a tame draw

Think will depend on WI batsman particularly Chaderpaul as even though pitch is assisting spin the two NZ spinners seem pretty ordinary on the face of it and seamers aren't getting a lot out of this track once new ball is used up.

To dismiss Chanderpaul twice in 3 days is no mean task , another option is to keep taking wickets from the other end so that Chanders is stranded at other end and it has happened many times in the past . WI loses the test and Chanders remains not out.

wow so fulton is still there for the kiwis?

35 year old with a test average of 26 and yet he still gets the gig every series, must be a hell of a good bloke to have around the team.

I guess you didn't see his impeccable slip fielding :kami

I reckon he's only there because they wanted to give Rutherford a wake up call. Fulton should have been the first to go imo for the openers, as you've mentioned he doesn't have much success behind him and he's near the back end of his career.

If the Windians put up a good fight today it will be a draw. If they fold like bad poker player it's going to be an innings defeat. You heard it here first.

W.I need to bat seriously well here to dig themselves out of a massive hole, Gayle and Chanderpaul will need to bat well during W.I inns

What a slow track. Ironically...

8 years ago, Lara was yelling...

1. Gimme a specialist spinner!
2. Gimme a genuine fast bowler!
3. Fire your groundsmen!
4. Prepare faster Jamaican pitches!
5. Dead pitches helping the opposition!

8 years ago ago, Jamaican grounds men and the WI selectors replied

1. We're banning you for rudeness and insubordination
2. Dead Jamaican pitches are fine
3. We're not giving you your spinner (echoes of the current Narine ban)
4. Shut your mouth, everything is fine with WI cricket

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Craig looks like he will get a bit of bounce. Not much turn yet but the pitch is pretty dead apart from a bit of turn on day 1 due to moisture.

From the two teams I love Chaundarpaul from West Indies and Kane Wiliamson from New Zealand. Both look to be very hard working cricketers.

raig took the most wickets of any spinner in New Zealand last season, apart from Todd Astle, who is a legspinner like Sodhi, and Bruce Martin, who got a go in Tests and was not very good."

this test is killing me, I wanna enjoy it but I can't. Come on man, I'd see IPL Gayle rather than this
and Gayles making this craig guy look like :murali

Gayle looks like the biggest joke of the century here. He finally faces real cricket after a while and ends up looking like a novice.

Sodhi still bowling one bad ball every over that prevents him from building pressure.
