This is Pakistan's new test captain?

This is the way he plays so you can't blame him too much, when he gets praised for doing the same thing when it comes off.

The thing that everyone is going to realise now is this...coming in and scoring run a ball 30s and 40s is great when the top 6 have tuk tukked and set the stage for you to do that, it's why he has been able to play with such freedom and he's been an invaluable part of the team's strategy.

But you can't get away with it without the top 6 doing the grind before you, which is why the same fans who have been praising Sarfraz for the last 12-18 months are going to start cussing him out now that the cowardly batsmen are retiring.

PATHETIC PATHETIC batting display by Pakistan, yet again !!!!! Pakistan team needs to first go visit a psychologist

Shafiq needs to score a quick fifty here , can potentially be matchwinning.

Give it up mate. Pakistan's best hope is that Windies collapse under the pressure. Don't expect any heroics from Pakistan batsmen at this stage, our first innings lead is what is keeping us in this game.

Windies will surely go for the kill if the target is within 260-270 or less. They've got nothing to lose. They might use a pinch hitter strategy and it that doesn't workout, they would use Chase and Hope to do what they do best.

Shimron and Vishaul will be given the license. Bishoo can be used as well.

Considering the state of the pitch, anything above 150 is a match-winning total here. We have the game in the bag, but the fact is that had we not pulled off the Mannequin Challenge in the first session yesterday, we would have been around 50-60 runs ahead. The tactic of scoring 50 runs in 30 overs was nothing but unadulterated madness. However, some folks will still defend that approach, because there are people in the world who can't see facts even when it smacks them in the face.

What is the safe target here?

Crossed the safe target when we took the last 4 wickets for 30 odd runs today. Anything above 150 against Yasir is almost impossible for WI to chase on this surface. If we still manage to mess this one up, well then it is perhaps time for us to quit Test cricket.

Not too sure.

I agree with Mamoon.
Scoring runs is extreme difficult on this surface...

We probably already have a winning total

You're surprisingly optimistic today

Ball isn't coming easily onto the bat, strokemaking is difficult on this surface.

Still I'd like for our lead to cross 250. Tail needs to wag.

I agree. I thought 300 would be more than enough but 200 seems like 400 on this pitch. Yasir should get 6 wickets and reach 150 test wickets by the end of this match.

150 lead would be enough if we had two competent spinners. A leg spinner alone with a small target isn't the best way to exploit a turning pitch. Accuracy is as important as turn on such a surface. A good finger spinner would be priceless.

I don't believe in optimism or pessimism, only facts. The fact is that WI will need to pull off a blinder to win this one, and we will have to bowl and field extremely poorly to facilitate that.

How i wish we had Sohail Khan right now to smack a quickfire 25.

Ideally, you would want two spinners on a surface like this. Expecting Abbas to play an important role again, we need someone to bowl tight from the other end while Yasir plucks away. Won't be a bad idea to give Azhar a go as well.

Not an easy pitch to slog on. It's the worst kind of dead pitch, where it's crap for bowling and it's crap for trying to force the issue as a batsman.

Need to wait for half-volleys and long-hops basically.

Doubt it bro, Pak will need at least 280 to call it safe.

Pakistan must look for a new batsmen. Harris sohail, fawad alam, and usman salauddin. Are good options dont mind Umar Akmal either. At this time pakistan need fresh legs and batsmen who can score runs quickly as well.

From being one of the most boring test matches of all time, this is turning into a pretty classic ending.

I like the fact that Yasir has come out with the intent of scoring runs. No point in hanging about trying to play out overs.

If we can somehow get another 30 or so runs that should be enough to make sure of the win. We won't though, down to the tailenders now so I expect it will be wrapped up pretty quickly.

Shah is such a good batsman to watch. I'm confused as to why he doesn't average in the 20's.

Same reason I look terrible at the top of the order and classy batting lower down. Easier to relax and have some fun when you're a tailender which leads to the occasional knock like this but it's not easy to do it on a consistent basis.
