Will Shah be released in the UK?

Yes, but don't know the precise date. Most likely it'll release in a week after Pak release or it can take more time. ARY Films r part of production so do believe the movie will get an international release in UK and UAE.

I think it is more to do with the Sisyphus storyline. Quite an interesting movie. Don't think a sequel would work too well though.

Basically yeah.

To me the ending [the car accident] was the starting point of the loop.

If you remember when she first meets her "friends" at the dock by the boat she doesn't have her child with her. When she does break the loop she goes home to realise the "real" her was abusing her kid.

The next part is the accident and how her kid dies but she gets out, only to break her promise to the Taxi driver(death?)....hence why the loop/Sisyphus.

The issue is that it didn't do well at the box office in the first place yet C grade Horror Movies out perform psychological thrillers  unless you have a Scorsese or Nolan behind the movie. A part 2 is unlikely but if they did it we could have a new loop but this time there is greater focus on the source.

I agree Sherlock, think that was the starting point. Any chance the reason for the loop could be the poor treatment of the child? The taxi stuff which makes sense watching the movie otherwise him showing up was a bit random but it's a bit harsh, the loop running and all just because she mislead him; P.S never deceive your taxi driver lol

Cheers mate; I assumed the same because Bin Roye and WAAR have been released here in recent times. Can't wait, think Shah will be even better then the hollywood Southpaw which I have watched from the perspective of storytelling and a better narrative since it's a biopic.

I do feel the treatment of the child was the cause. She really wasn't a good Mother, despite what we knew of her throughout film.

Next stop for you is the film Predestination :))

Watched the latest Mission Impossible.

Good car chases etc but I struggled to stay awake and remain interested in the film.

I think this should be the last one of the MI films.

4/10

That's a great film.

I watched oculus - 7/10, good horror film. Kinda freaked me out when I first saw her.

A woman tries to exonerate her brother, who was convicted of murder, by proving that the crime was committed by a supernatural phenomenon.

I suggest you to watch The Frozen Ground, Disturbia, Mullholand Drive, Seal Of Love, Donnie Brasco, From Hell and Basic Instinct.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions.
I have watched donnie brasco and basic instinct and loved both. So i am sure the rest of these would also be good suggestions. Would definitely watch them very soon.

I just finished watching a 1968 movie called once upon a time in the west and boy what a movie. 8.5/10 from me. I think some scenes in sholay are inspired by it lol.

From Hell the one about Jack the ripper? Underrated movie this!

Disturbia is naff!

Excellent horror. Also Mama was decent except for the lame ending.

Looking forward to Sinister 2.

Ive seen nightcrawler, Very nice movie. My favorite movie is Silence of the lambs though. Apart from these, Primal Fear, Cape Fear, Zodiac and Scream are very good films

Bangraji bhaijaan

Basically Jodha Akbar meets veerzaara in a tear jerking comedy
No deers were run over or homeless people in the making of the film which has a Hindu fanatic slowly become more tolerant to Muslims and a molvi in shades shelters him

Decent point about people not being able to cross borders and Indian prisoners rotting inside Pakistani cells

^top analysis

The remains of the day
Decent movie hannibal Lecter in a veru different role Emma Thompson looked beautiful

Good movie , not exactly a horror genre. But well made.

Finally i watched
Shawshank redemption
8.5/10 good movie

I had heard a lot of good things about it and it didn't disappoint.

Crazy movie. A must watch.

It's Frightfest season. Tune into Film4 for the next week or so. Horror movies galore.

I Saw The Devil and The Chaser are superb Korean thrillers...its a shame they havent been able to match that standard the last few years...

Saw My Mother...an Italian drama about a filmmaker having to balance work with the impending loss of her hospitalised mother...its pretty good...pulls on the heartstrings a bit but isnt melodramatic which helps...

Murder 2 was copy of Chaser while Ek Villain from I Saw the Devil. Prashant Narayanan and Ritiesh Deshmukh were highlights from both the films. Really terrifying these thrillers.

How did the remakes compare with the originals?...I heard the Indian remake of Old Boy was better than the American version...

Murder 2 was thrill and class specially due to performance of Emraan Hashmi and Prashant both did really well in the film, Even the soundtrack was amazing. From Ek Villain Riteish Deshmukh did very well, However i would rate Murder 2 better than Ek Villain, Both were directed by Mohit Suri. And yes the indian remakes are imo equally good specially the remake of The Chaser under banner of Murder 2.

Force 2011 Indian Film is also a great ruthless action thriller. Vidyut Jamwal performs the negative role really well. Old Boy's remake is Zinda, A revenge based thriller.

Vidyut probably has the best physique in bollywood.

Force 2011 remake of Tamil movie Kaka Kaka which had part 2(Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu) as well with Kamal Hassan in lead incase u r interested.

Little Boy 8/10 very touching story of a boy who wants his father to come back from war so tries to complete a list given by a Priest.

Ant-Man 7/10 liked it actually witty acting and dialogues pretty different from other Marvel stories.

Okay guys some more suggestions from my side:
-Carlito's Way (Crime Drama)
-Vacancy (2007 Thriller)
-Inception
-Night Crawler
-Exorcism of Emily Rose

STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON

9 /10 one of the best movies i've seen in years. Its not a stupid gang banger movie, since it was based on true events, it made it even better. Don't miss a good movie.

leatherface58 : Have you seen the trailer for the witch? Looks pretty good.

:))) what did I just watch :yk it was disturbing at times for obvious reasons lol but it was enjoyable experience and I get the logic behind that secret agency or whatever finding the perfect agent to serve them but who gave birth to Jane in the first place? it would be hard to make sense of things if they tried to answer that question in the movie. I found the movie more enjoyable then triangle but both were quiet similar in many ways when you look at the cycle which kept repeating or the questionable source of everything.

Btw, have you seen The Gift? apparently it's another movie right up our street although a psychological horror, released recently in the UK and has great reviews online

Seems epic. Getting very positive vibes from the movie.

That baby scene reminds me of that little moment of being scared when you take of your shirt before changing at night, as you don't know what's going to change when you can see again. Surprised no horror movie has used that trope, it's one of the more relatable scary experiences along with the mirror scene in the Ring 2.

Maybe that's because you're the only one who feels scared while changing shirts. :P

Mad Max Fury Road - One of those movies which had better trailer than the movie itself. #Boring

watching this on the weekend due to insistence from some friends; am a fan of hip hop and some of the guys that were in the NWA but biopic's on rappers tend to suck and I don't know why but my expectations are very low. The reviews have been generally good though. I heard that they didn't really go into the feud between Dre and Easy E in the movie, that would have been fun; even more if the Real G's song was covered as well :))

Well as the movie states early on."Which come the first, the egg or the chicken?? answer : the rooster"

Basically the baby was Jane....who grew up.....she then realises she has Male reproductive parts and changes her sex to John....who in-turn (start of the film gets blow up by the bomb) and has corrective surgery to become Ethan Hawke.

The reason he doesn't remember is because after every time-jump he loses his memory, thus cannot remember who or what he/she was.

The bomber is also himself. He became disillusioned by the job he had and thus also became the bomber he was after.

Regarding the baby.....

So....he kidnaps the baby (which is Jane/John/Hawke) and drops it off at the orphanage and so the Paradox begins.

And again.....

The baby is Jane....grows up to become John, after sex change....who in-turn time travels and sleeps with Jane (himself but while he was a female). Jane is pregnant with erm....Jane

:))

I thought The Gift was more horror than a psychological horror/thriller. Haven't seen it yet though so might earmark it for future.

:))) Got to give it to them though for making a movie like that.

So Jane gave birth to Jane but where did Jane come from in the first place? :murali

And didn't she have the sex change as there was no choice according to the doctors? they had to destroy the vagina to ensure she lives and the penis was like kinda there already developing and all. I understand how all the different versions of Jane come to exist due to the time travelling and paradox but that's just the confusion for me; where Jane came from.

It has been listed as a psychological horror/thriller, will have to see the movie to find out. Going by the trailer it looked like a psychological thriller. Said to a friend lets go watch it and he was like nah why do you want to see a movie where someone is just stalking peeps, lets go watch bajrani bhaijaan the bollywood movie; so I go why you want to see a movie where a guy basically gives a girl a lift to pakistan :yk

The baby, Jane, John, Ethan Hawke, and the bomber are all the same person.

Jane will keep impregnating herself and then stealing her own baby and sending it back in time to become her forever.

After she becomes a man she will get her face blown off and then look like Ethan Hawk and eventually go crazy from time travelling too much and become the bomber. Rinse, repeat.

Infinitely looping paradox. The "first time" isn't really a concept because the timeline is not linear. Being that the timeline is circular, a "snake eating its own tail," there is no beginning and no end.

It's a Paradox.

Jane being born from herself feels a little forced into in order to create the paradox. I feel as if the plot of the movie can't be explained in a way that is completely logical. Perhaps that's why the writers never tell us who the "original" or "naturally-created" human being is in the story (the bit I have the biggest issue with). If they did, they wouldn't be able to explain the story in a way that makes sense. It seems incompatible with reality. Which leads to my conclusion that either A) travelling back in time and altering the past creates a new, alternate timeline which the time traveler would never be able to prove exists upon return to the "present day", or B) time travel just isn't possible and that's why we arrive at the paradox you speak off.

That's what a paradox is... It doesn't have a beginning or end. They hinted at this in the movie throughout. It's not that they can't explain it, its that they let the viewer interpret what they want.

You could ask yourself this question about every single time travel movie where the sequence of events doesn't change but rather forms a loop, ie who was the first to do it. For example, in harry potter, how did harry first come to be saved against the patronus? In time crimes, why was the guy wearing a hood in the very first time? It can be applied to every occurrence of looping time travel. It's a part of this sci-fi genre's rules and I don't hold it against predestination specifically for not explaining it. The only difference is that predestination took the concept far enough that you asked yourself a question that you didn't before.

I actually have most of their songs on my phone, I'm a fan of hip hop too, I knew the rivalry and controversies but didn't know many things that went behind the scene. No typical bad acting you see in black gangster movies. I thought Dre and Ice cube would have make themselves look like gang bangers in the movie when they weren't really like that, but they didn't do that, the movie is genuine good film. After the movie, I wanted to become gangster rapper, blasted Straight Outta Compton the next few day while driving my Dad's Toyota Corolla while taking my mom for grocery shopping. Im giving this movie a 10/10

:)))

Nah, I try to do it quickly, don't give the churail any time to show up. :))

Is that what the movie is about? endymion248 and his taste buds never surprise me. The churail coming after you when you're nanga, sounds like I Believe in the Teesra

Fair enough guys, makes sense :) I like to over think about psychological thrillers and go mad :))
