South Africa (138 & 285/5) defeat Australia (212 & 207) by 5 wickets in the final to clinch the World Test Championship 2023/25 title

People criticised Ngidi with the ball but he was the only Saffer not get out by this Aussie line up. Credit where its due.
 
SA should do the honourable thing & not enter ICC events… the choke in the T20 final last year was something else.
 
How can anyone be so bad in tournament finals. It's just like Pakistan vs India in icc tournaments.
South africa is awful.

Ngidi was utter rubbish with the ball in very bowler friendly conditions. His bowling has been the difference so far.

No he isn’t. His numbers in India and and Lanka aren’t great.
He is good on seaming tracks only and bouncy wickets

But yes top 3 in the world

Best is still bumrah and rabada
 
Cummins is lucky he has Hazlewood and Starc for support

Most other teams lack that third bowler

And then there is green who can bowl too.

The issue with Labu is that he never seems settled at the crease in test cricket.

Every time you feel like he'll eventually knick it. Possibly the edgiest batsmen of all time in test cricket.
 
Usman khawaja has had a very good rest career nearing almost 6000 runs. It would be nice if he could get that milestone of 6000 runs.
 
Usman Not bad against kagiso rabada averaging 31 against him but he has gotten out 6 times in 15 innings.

Thank God SA didnt beat Australia else every would thought how easy to beat this australian team. It remains forever now only india can beat australia in ICC trophy.

Lots of teams cam beat Australia in an icc trophy. Main question is can you beat em in a final? Only Sri Lanka and West indies have achieved this feat.

They will keep carrying him. That's how Australia event. High chance he will deliver Australia in later part of his career. All Rounders usually peak after late 20s.
 
Considering the conditions, Dane Paterson would have been a far better pick than Ngidi.
 
This is an important phase in the game , SA would look to bowl out Aussies under 200 here , Aussies will look to get at least 270 plus

Even Aussies left him out for sl tour immediately after bgt .In first class matches, he got schooled by boland lasting for 10 balls in both innings. If he wants to score a scoop every time as an opener, he should be the biggest clown ever. He can't scoop on spin tracks. Aussies stocks are falling exponentially.

That is statistically not true

Bumrah bowls even better with old ball. Infact he struggles more with the new ball.

It is the best overall pace attack.
Cummins and hazlewood walk into any test team right now.
Even starc who is one of the best odi bowlers is also an integral part of this pace attack giving them a left handed option and a pacier one too

Younis was like this too when he entered the crease. Looked like he d nick any ball. But once settled he d make the opposition sleep to death

It was one off inning. Doesnt mean much if he fizzles out and this is the only highlight of his career
Hope he sticks to his game and have a good career but these one off overs dont mean much.
Razzaq smashed mcgrath for five fours does that make mcgrath any less of a bowler?
 
Smith is gone and so does umpires blind decision. I don't understand the logic at all.its in front of the wickets and umpire don't want to give it .
 
Umpire robbed this test match for Australia.Had he given webster out on first innings.aus would have boundled out for 150 runs

Razzaq was a veteran at that time. He was a 19 year old. Name one legend who got spanked by a 19 year old.

His stance is similar to Steve Smith, infact they way he drives is similar to smith, its just he doesnt shuffle across and have a weird stance like smith does.

Otherwise both bend their legs and get into position.

Just cause he knicked and edged on the 3rd offstump mean doesnt mean hes labu. Kphli became a meme on that line. 🤦🏻🤦🏻.

Younis was a nervous starter. He looked unsettled during his early stay at the crease. But he used to settle and then olay long innings. But labu doesnt even settle.

I agree with this but their have been a billion nervous starters in world cricket. Heck from Pakistan alone, ijaz Ahmed + Fakhar Zaman are similar.

Doesn't mean you equate Labu. Labu is a medicore batsmen. Its a skill issue. Which further proves why Bumrah is overrated.

Only Bumrah can get destroyed in a final by Labu and Travis Head in his own home den. Embarassing.

Bumrah smashed broad for 28 runs in an over how does that prove that he is a bad bowler.
Sam konstas did it once. Let him have a career of atleast 20 test before claiming his batting talent to be on par with others
