Arsenal FC | 2024/25 Season

Academy players have to be integrated in a time frame. In general best time to integrate them is when a winning culture at the club is developed to make the integration as smooth as possible.
So basically not any time soon at Arsenal then.

Yep, unless you have Havertz using his shoulder instead of his head and his shin instead of foot. There are no others so if there is a young 18 year old promising talent who is scoring goals at under 18 or under 21's, worth the punt imo.

Havertz for me is not the issue.

Havertz is predominantly a Midfielder who for some reason is been used as a makeshift centerforward when he clearly lacks the attributes for that position.

Its Artetas Tinkering is the main problem.
He's basically putting " Round Pegs in Square Holes"

And now he's ben found wanting.

I dont think Havertz knows what he is, if I can recall he did start off as an attacking central mid but has played in all sorts of positions.

Against Utd 10 man down, a goal was needed and Arsenal had nobody, not even a young striker to bring on. Havertz was pathetic on the day, he should have been replaced by any goalscorer, even a kid.

I do agree with this, he isn't good enough

However there's not a chance Isak gets signed to play as a LW, he doesn't have the work rate or the natural desire to do that role

Only time he's played there for us is towards the end of games when we have brought Wilson on when chasing a game or just a temporary tactical switch during a game

Not that he's for a sale or leaving but if Arsenal need a LW then Gordon would be the better option as he's a far superior LW than Isak, it's just as a CF Isak is a different level
It can work,

Havertz plays withdrawn, and Isak as the main man playing inside forward, furthest up the pitch . Same as what Salah did when trent use to overlap more.

Arsenal win their next two games I would make it a 50-50 title race.

4 points and a game in hand can disappear very very quickly, when the cup competitions restart.

Arsenal have got the ability to go on a run and keep clean sheets

Havertz at Leverkuson excelled at CAM.
Even for Germany hes now deployed at CAM. But for some reason Tinker Man
Arteta keeps on playing him at centerforward lol

How will Havertz play tonight?

North London Derby, an opportunity for the home team to close the gap at the top of the table. Spurs defence is poor, however played very well against Liverpool in the league cup.

Its an interesting contest as a neutral, one team has an attacking style of play, very aggressive with fit players but the quality of players is questionable. The other is a more solid team, often defends deep even at home and lack quality attackers.

I hope Arsenal allow this game to flow, stop their time wasting and try to score some goals!

Its a hard call but my prediction is 2-2.

Any predictions from any Arsenal fans or others? Lets see how confident you guys are.

Arteta isnt stupid and he know spurs will play on the front foot, he will probably look to keep it tight, cagey and knick it on a set piece.

I would love to see both teams go at it, but dont think it will happen

Makes sense but surely he has to risk it and go for 3 points to close the gap ?

Spurs defence is vulnerable, arsenal should score without set pieces.

Your prediction?

Havertz confidence is completely shot, therefore should be benched.

Could be a interesting game. Arsenal are Goal shy,
And Spurs are spursy , could be good viewing.

I am reading Arsenal players going to have some sort of message for Gabriel Jesus today on their Jersey's?

Did I miss something? He is not dead is he

I want the players to focus on the game and let the fans do a message or whatever.

Pretty sure they have a team group chat and they can post messages of support on there. Not sure why they need to do one on the tele.

Tomiyasu must be feeling left out if GJ gets a message

Not surprised after watching this earlier.

Arteta 'I LOVE THEM' :afridi

Not sure managers should be saying this but a message for Jesus is funny, he's injured on a monthly basis .

Did you not the know the story about Jesus, he always turns up around Xmas time and then dissapears for rest of the season.

The team is so mentally weak its unreal. The whole t-shirt for Jesus is yet another example of that.

Look at united FA cup game.

There was a team huddle before the start of each half and ET and penalties.

5 team huddles, all for the cameras.

Only thing kissing was oddegard taking photos again

Makes sense - they say Love is Blind
I think that you fans just read too much into it. They have conferences every 2 days pre and post game, with the same journos.

Arteta is not going to say, ''Havertz MArtinelli and Jesus are donkey's at finishing and I definately need a striker. ''

This week he answered the questions well. Most managers know you NEVER throw your players under the bus in public, and when you are asked questions about potential signings from a media that is basically there to stir it up, you need to answer in a manner that keeps your players happy.

Move on

You expect us to score two goals?
I'll take it

I feel this will be a different derby game compared to the previous one at Spurs. Arsenal pretty much out of two cup comps will be very determined to win this, its a must win just for their confidence if anything. A loss could start a downfall, so imo your team will be far more attacking this time at home.

Spurs are spurs, under Ange, they only know one way. I enjoy watching them and this style, if he had 7/8 world class players, they would blow most teams away. With this bunch they are dangerous but will leak goals, although played well v Liverpool at home, keeping a clean sheet.

Imo there will be goals in this game, more than 2 but could be 4/5. Im probably wrong as I dont understand Areta lol.

Havertz is overrated it hilarious, now you. Have Abdullah joining Peshawari Jimmy Hill and Tophiding with the over hype.

Was he good at Leverkusen - Yes

He was absolute trash at Chelsea, pretty much dining out on that CL goal.

If you look at his Chelsea record it's nothing more then scoring goals against lower half trash teams in PL. Doesn't matter what position he played he failed in them all.

Same goes for Germany, utter trash in 2 euros and a world cup. Him missing sitters vs Spain is reason they went out of last euros.

At Arsenal, again only turns up vs teams like Palace, Burnley, sheff utd, Brentford. Again an abysmal record vs top 6 sides.

Last season he was a ghost in keys games vs man city (A) and Villa (H
He was **** in CL knockouts vs Porto and Bayern. All those sitters he missed vs liverpool in FA cup

This season the same, turns up vs bottom half trash. Missed a sitter vs Newcastle in LC semi, and also main reason we lost to united in FA cup.

300K week to bottle all big games?

But but he's better than haaland (without penalties)

But but he's been misused at Chelsea, Arsenal Germany

But but he's top ten striker in world

But but he's world class

But but their aren't stats that shoe his real worth.

This shows how clueless and dumb some of this fan base is when yoh hype up a failure, like he's Henry or Bergkamp.

No wonder Arsenal don't buy anyone decent when fan base make out that they are happy with world class bottle job players

Imagine if 5 years ago someone told you Arsenal's front 3 in a NLD would be sterling, havertz and Trossard

Brilliant defending from Gabriel

Raya then saves from kulasevski

That's a warning sign

0-1 Son

Typical Arsenal go behind after looking impotent at other end

Arsenal dominating but no proper end game at the moment.

Arsenal dominating but no proper end game at the moment.
Embarrassing once again in final 3rd.

Spurs will just do what Newcastle and Man united did and play on counter

Wth is havertz doing

Massive, massive win. Great character shown by the players to bounce back after the Son goal.

Time to string together 3-4 wins on the trot to put real pressure on Liverpool who are showing signs of cracking.

Thoughts & prayers with @Amjid Javed who was on his prayer mat throughout the match, praying for an Arsenal defeat. May he find strength to cope with this disappointing result.

What a stellar performance by the “overrated and mentally weak” Odegaard.

His touch, movement, dribbling, vision. Everything. Spurs couldn’t cope. Anyone who thinks he is not world class is either blind or doesn’t have a clue about football.

Odegaard at his best is elite.

Immense performance by Gabriel, Saliba, Rice and Trossard as well.

🤣🤣 his 3rd Assist since April. Peshawari Jimmy Hill and topspin will be proclaiming him as better than Bergkamp and Liam Brady. We'll done you can both have some excitement for 1st time in 6 months 🤣🤣

Screenshot_20250115_215854_Chrome.jpg

A win is a win however the issues are still there in attack. Should have smashed them by a few

I'll take the win but they are a woeful team I didn't expect anything less than a win.

Odegaard had a better game to be fair a bit closer to his usual standard however really needs to practice shooting. Always feathers it

But but my mate whose a Liverpool scout said that 3 assists since April is world class 🤣🤣

But but my scout mate said havertz is world class, it's don't matter if misses sitters evert game

Eid mubarak peshwari Jimmy Hill and topspin you can get your light bulbs out and do bhangra

The fact that a creative midfielder is being judged for missing “sitters” says everything about your ignorance.

Odegaard was running the show today. Immense performance under huge pressure.

It wasn't an amazing or awesome performance.
It was better than the last few games, most of which was probably down to having the freedom of the Emirates, especially second half when Bergvall was all alone in the middle of the park

Jamal Musiala
League 14 games - 9 goals 2 Assists
CL 6 games - 2 goals 3 Asists

Odegard 14 games - 1 goal 3 Assists
CL 2 games - 2 Assists

Bayern are on ☎️ asking for elite player to replace musiala, so he can sit on bench

🤣🤣🤣🤣 but but he's better then musiala. Delusion at its finest.

One thing of concern. Partey towards the end was absolutely shattered. Needs a couple of recovery days

Most of team need shooting practice.

Havertz missing 2 sitters again.

I bet isaks handed in a transfer request right now so he can play left wing with havertz up top

He was good 1st half. But then was sloppy and gave ball away a few times in silly positions.

With Arsenal out of two cups. They can all go off to dubai in February for a jolly up

🤣🤣 1 goal and 3 assists in 14 games is elite.

Oh where was the elite performance vs Newcastle in Cup semi?

Bottled a penalty vs united in FA cup.

Amazing elite performances, a world class player that turns up once in a blue moon

But but he's better than musiala 🤡 why don't you ask you best mate Topspin and Liverpool scout for the stats 🤣

It's greatest performance of all time, he looked so fresh probably because he's been missing since October. Plus he missed the Newcastle and Man united games. Probably need to take the Bergkamp statue down and replace it after this performance.

Elite player

Only saw the last 20 mins or so of the game (was watching Isak score again earlier  )

Thought Arsenal looked solid and did well to nullify Spurs

It's a derby so it's always a case of just win whichever way, it doesn't need to be pretty

Villa up next, think that will be a better indication of the form Arsenal are in. This is where Arsenal need to put a run together and start putting pressure on Liverpool

'The door is ajar for Arsenal - this must be their catalyst'

Mikel Arteta pumped his fists to the stands while Gabriel threw his shirt into the crowd in celebration as a period of abject misery for Arsenal came to a victorious conclusion against Tottenham.

The stakes are always high in the north London derby, but much was riding on this one for Arteta and his team, as a season that started with so much optimism and expectation threatened to flounder.

Arsenal came into the meeting with Spurs on the back of damaging home defeats by Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup, and by Manchester United in the FA Cup.

The scenes at the end of this win over Spurs were wild, noisy and laced with relief as much as celebration. Arsenal had known anything less than victory over their arch-rivals would put a serious dent in their title pursuit.

It demonstrated just how much this 2-1 win meant. Arsenal are now four points behind Liverpool, having played a game more, but this must now be the catalyst for action on and off the pitch.

Arsenal, as is their habit, made a very large meal of beating a mediocre Spurs, struck down by injuries but still well short of the standards expected.

The warning signals flashed for Arsenal when, after almost total domination of possession, Spurs took the lead through Son Heung-min after 25 minutes.

Arsenal managed to turn their fortunes around to claim three vital points and are now, for all their recent failings, right back in the title race.

The door is ajar for Arsenal and Arteta, but they will struggle to open it any further unless they do what seems plainly obvious and sign a striker to give them a cutting edge.

In a glass half-full assessment, midfielder Declan Rice told BBC Radio 5 Live: "We're probably unlucky we didn't score 10 tonight."

Not strictly true. No luck involved.

Arsenal had 14 shots with only four on target, their equaliser coming from Dominic Solanke's own goal, resulting from a 40th minute corner that should not have been given - as the final touch before the ball went out of play had come off Leandro Trossard rather than Pedro Porro.

Trossard then compounded the agony for Spurs with a winner four minutes later with a low drive that should have been saved by keeper Antonin Kinsky.

This is not to suggest Arsenal did not deserve their victory. It was fully merited but only served to illustrate once more how the Gunners must sign a striker before the January transfer window closes.

It is not too strong to say Arteta and Arsenal's chances of success depend on it, especially with the sight of Bukayo Saka on crutches on the sidelines after hamstring surgery and striker Gabriel Jesus out for the long term as he awaits an operation on a serious knee injury.

Arsenal's fans groaned in frustration at too much over-elaboration around the penalty area.

Rice and Martin Odegaard wasted chances, while Kai Havertz headed tamely at Kinsky, squandering the opportunity to emphasise the superiority they clearly had over Spurs.

Arteta, as he must be, is aware of the problems, saying: "We are actively looking and we will try to do something. Let's see what we can get."

The Gunners needed to respond when they were in trouble after the Son setback, and the biggest response came from 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly, who gave a magnificent display, fully meriting the standing ovation he received when he was taken off three minutes from time.

Lewis-Skelly belied his youth to emerge as a key driving force and inspiration, completing 30 out of 32 passes, taking responsibility when Arsenal needed him most, with his manager describing his performance as "amazing".

Arteta said: "He was phenomenal. He is a real personality. He has so much trust in himself. He has that attitude about him. He had to play against Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski while managing the occasion. It is not easy but he was top."

And Rice added: "The young boy was unbelievable. To be playing the way he is at just 18 is just ridiculous. No fear. Four or five times in the second half, he used his body to get away from someone."

If Arteta has been looking for signs that he has reserves of talent to ensure Arsenal can go deep into this season in search of trophies, then Lewis-Skelly, one of his emerging young stars, provided them.

Arteta told BBC Sport: "The attitude we played with, not feeling sorry for ourselves, was phenomenal. We played 120 minutes three days ago.

"We had some big chances and big situations. At the end, we had to suffer more than we wanted. When you have the opportunities, you have to take them. We are on a really consistent run in the Premier League.

"It is now about recovery, then Aston Villa on Saturday, going and going."

And he added: "We know how important this game was and is. It's a gift with which we can make out supporters happy."

Now he needs to deliver an even bigger gift in the shape of a clinical finisher who can ensure this win is not a false dawn in Arsenal's Premier League title challenge.

Has isak not put a transfer request yet?

I heard as a kid his dream was to feed donkeys at a sanctuary when he was older.

Havertz (Germany greatest player according to peshwari Jimmy Hill and top spin) is waiting

Important 3 points for Arsenal, even though imo both teams were poor. Arsenal like every team had a fortunate evening with an own goal and a pathetic effort from an avg Spurs keeper. Arsenal could have score 5/6 with this keeper but their shooting was off again.

Villa at the weekend will be far tougher, another 3 points at home will be an excellent return this week.

Last season at this stage, Arsenal had the same number of points and were trailing Liverpool before Klopp bottled it.

All pressure is on Liverpool again and the cracks are beginning to appear. Arsenal must be ready to pounce if they falter.

If Arsenal win the league from here on it will be remembered as one of GOAT title wins given how this season has panned out and how much criticism Arsenal had to cope with.

If it happens, a lot of posters in this thread would hide like Bin Laden but I know where to find them and they will have to face the consequences of each and everything they said.

I will only be targeting a certain “Arsenal fan” and a bunch of other haters. There is a difference between being critical and actively hoping that Arsenal lose just to prove a point.

Such people don’t deserve to be called fans.

Seems like peshwari Jimmy hill is rattled.

Feel free to show proof where I've said that I hope Arsenal lose? Again your usual fabricated bull****

I support Arsenal football club.

I'm not some weirdo middle aged guy who things the club is called Artera rent boys FC.

Funny how who tag people and call people out to push you Arteta meat-riding agenda.

Hilarious you of all people telling others how to be a fan. Gutless , who runs off at end of Every seaaon after being humilated.

in November and threw towel in, now is proclaiming it would be greatest title win ever.

As soon as Arsenal lose again. He will dissapear, say he didn't watch the game.

He's just a glorified Arteta fan boy and he will be left with egg on his face again at end of season.

Then comes out with excuses that he's traveling, working, internet connection issues and any other fabricated story he can come up with.

I'm still waiting for the 5 year rotten eggs and tomatoes he's going to throw at everyone.

All this bhangra just so he can Worship Arteta like some loved up teenager.

He already threw the towel in himself in November

December 2023 a certain Arteta fan boy said if Arteta didn't deliver titles, he would apologise. He got exposed on that and since then he's want redemption.

Also the "it's in the bag" is the single most humiliating thing that's happened in 20 year history of PP.

So feel free to target me, I'm right here, when Arsenal end season trophyless again, il Bury your all you members of the Arteta rent boy Fan club.

He's busy with his prayer mat out asking for messiah Arteta to beat villa tomorrow.

That will be his highlight of the season. Arsenal are ending season trophyless, beating a poor spurs side doesn't change anything.

Arsenal impotence in front of goal will be exposed again during season, espcially with saka out as well.

Arsenal have won. Just 2 games against current top 10 sides in PL, this 🤡 thinks that's title winning form

Your best mate Topspin has gone into hiding, he's hoping and praying that Arsenal some how win CL, so he can justify the story of his "Liverpool scout mate said this that and the other"

Unfortunately for the clueless lemmings in this fan base there is no fairy tale ending to this season.

Someone is more rattled than a rattlesnake. I didn’t expect to get under your skin so bad, but I can’t deny that I am loving it.

Everyone knows that you openly hope for Arsenal to lose under Arteta so that you can drive your toxic agenda.

You are the only Arsenal fan in this thread who never celebrates when Arsenal win and always shies away from giving credit to Arteta and the players when it is due.

Over the course of the last 3 seasons, there have been so many matches where Arteta’s tactical brilliance shone and helped Arsenal win, but you almost never give him any credit.

The only time you did it is when MKZ practically forced you and you had nowhere to hide. This is what a toxic agenda looks like.

If Arteta leads Arsenal to Premier League glory, whether this season, next season or at some point in the future, you will owe an apology for your verbal diarrhea and for not having faith in him and the players.

If you don’t have faith in the manager, you don’t deserve to celebrate if he takes Arsenal to glory. You will apologize but not celebrate.

🤣🤣 the Arteta fan boy wants an apology. We all know the real reason why you always back Arteta. It's nothing to do with football reasons. If that's you eat you swing, good for you.

Why would a back a manager whose failed for 5 seasons. When I've seen 2 of Arsenal best ever managers in GG and wenger.

You really are stupid to say least.

I support Arteta because I feel he is the right man for the job. The day I feel that he is not the right man or there is an available manager in the market who can do better than him, I will not support him. It is simple.

No one supports individuals before the club. That is a baseless accusation. Every single Arsenal fan on earth was an Arsenal fan before Arteta became the manager (or even became associated with the club in any capacity) and will remain an Arsenal fan after he is gone, so this idea that people are supporting him and not the club is totally wrong.
Me openly admitting that I support Arteta over the club 🤡
