Australia [318 & 262] secure the Benaud-Qadir series with a 79-run win over Pakistan [264 & 237] in the 2nd Test at the MCG

Need to get the required runs under 100 with this partnership or this game is gone for sure.

Not saying to drop them but u got to show some common sense for goodness sake. Both the batters threw away their wickets on 2 harmless deliveries which they cd hv easily left..

Harsh? We are in a poor position and he goes after one that is flying high that he could have easily avoided. Was that in the slot to hit? Of course not. Very poor shot and judgement. Even our tail ender Jamal was ducking under those.

He did well here until the brain fade. Hopefully learns from this as he's going to be a mianstay for years to come

He’s king of soft dismissal.. so don’t expect this to change. He wd find even softer ways to get out in future ..

this deck looks tough when the lights are on & is cloudy as we saw yesterday , under Sun not so bad , these 2 need to play judiciously as plenty of time left in game & if they can string together 40-50 run s the Aussies will be under pressure .
 
It’s so difficult to face these Aussie pacers on these Pitches. Ball Is zipping past the batsman after PItching.
 
The guy couldn't last long and always looked like a walking wicket. Similar to Babar.

Pakistan won't be winning this and will only take moral victories in their stride.

I only believe in Rizwan.

surprised by Lyon's figures , thought he & Cummins would be the main threat in 4th innings .
 
As I said before. Reduce deficit to a 100 runs before AJ and the tail come on.

Australia will panic then.

Even if Pak loses if Rizwan takes them close to the target, he will improve his reputation by leaps and bounds. So far he has been brilliant in this innings. Attacking and keeping Aussies on their toes.

No. They have got a relentless attack.
1300 test wickets for Cummins hazle starc and Lyon combined. India scaled one of the most remarkable series victory of all time in 2020
 
75 minutes left so we get like 16-18 more overs , if these 2 stick around & target in double digits , tomorrow morning would be mighty interesting & Aus too would be forced to rethink their fielding positions . Weather forecast tomorrow morning ?
 
Saud has been the biggest disappointment so far. He walked in a very comfortable position 3 times and didn't score big.
Agha has shown more adaptability.
 
Salman has a first class record averaging around 41 with 16 centuries. He's also averaging the same in his test career. We could use that now.
 
Lol at Sarfaraz fans here thinking he would score more than Rizwan. What did Sarfaraz score in first match? A total of 7 runs. He can only imagine scoring as much as Rizwan here
 
just saw a stat , Babar scored 204 runs in 9 innings in Tests in 2023 - big slump I guess !
 
The difference in the fielding of both sides is like having an additional player.
 
You need a talented world class counter attacker like Risabh Pant to win against Australia in this situation. Impactless accumulaters will not trouble Australia
 
Pakistan have scored more runs than they require to win with 5 wickets left. If these two can take the required runs below 100 anything can happen.
