What's new

Australia defeat India by 5 wickets in 1st ODI (Perth)

You know the opposition is Australia when you are supporting India :shakib

No seriously, watching Kholi-mama and Shwarma Seller in such full flow is a treat to watch.

Wow, Manish Pandey in the side. An upgrade of Rayudu who would struggle to get into Zimbabwe side

Match will be.interesting from now on, India looking to.Maximize, gets a good score and Aussies starring their chase with an.interesting finish that can go either way.

Pakistan, India and SL all suck in AUSTRALIA.

Better teams have faltered here.

Wasim, akhtar etc couldnt get anything in Australia and Amir and wahab are supposed to create havoc

Lol.
1995: Wasim and Waqar bowled to:

Taylor
Slater
Boon
M Waugh
S Waugh
Blewett

1999; Wasim and Shoaib bowled to:

Slater
Blewett
Ponting
M Waugh
S Waugh
Gilchrist

2016-17: you only have to play against

Warner
Burns
Khawaja
Smith
Grandpa Voges
Mitch Marsh
Nevill

Sure, Amir/Asif/Wahab/Yasir isn't your best ever attack.

But Stuart Broad bowled out those Aussie clowns in less than a session.

A Hundred should be explosive like in 75-80 balls.... There 120-130 ball tons are so unattractive.

IND is slowing down to be honest - can't score 140 in last 14 with 1 extra fielder, probably maximum they can reach is 315-320; shouldn't be enough.

Broad bowled them out in England where there was sufficient swing and seam. Besides broad has been the best fast bowler in tests in the last five years after Steyn. Not sure any Pakistani bowler is that good.

Australian bowling is highly over rated!!!! Even Afgan or BD bowlers can take 3 wickets at least by 35 overs.
India will win by 70+ runs.

really good batting by Sharma and Kohli, but whats up with the trundling by the Australians.

India playing too slow and selfish.

If a wicket falls, it's curtains because Rahane/Pandey/Dhoni will all start slow and not get up to 310-315 range which is a must.

If Ashwin gets it right, then I expect India to defend anything 300+.

You forgot 2009-10 you had Amir-Asif, at their peak, bowling to not a great Aussie line up. Still could't win a match.

This is pure assumption that Australia will be struggling one year from now.

Rohit is half way there, just need another 100 to complete his double, come on rohit bash these trundlers

Tons at the MCG and the WACA against the Aussies. Not a bad record to have. Well done Rohit.

Aussies must be pleased as hell.. they have these many wickets in hand and the indians aren't even bothered to go for the boundaries.

One of them should just go for it now.

No point in saving wickets and being 280/4 in 50

With the likes of Rahane, Manish and Dhoni to come I doubt India will get to 325 here unless Kohli or Sharma starts whacking the bowlers from now onwards. They will certainly miss Raina here..

This isn't India.

You're thinking about Indian pitches.

This is a flat Aussie road against a team with 8 top class batsmen.

I am hoping that Bhuvi and Ashwin can atleast keep it tight and build pressure. Aussies are good at home, but they will have their bad days.

I am expecting Ummy boy to perform good. No hopes from Bhuvi, Ashwin can be good.

It's an awfully well-informed assumption.

This remains the worst Aussie Test batting line-up since 1927.

The flaws have been mostly hidden this summer: they only faced a fit and ready good attack on a sporting wicket once, at Adelaide, and couldn't score 250 in an innings.

Either South Africa or Pakistan will splatter their batting next year, if they are at full strength.

If you can (and do) select

Amir
Asif
Wahab
Yasir

......then Pakistan is going to really hurt that feeble Aussie batting. Especially if, as I suspect, South Africa has already worked over Burns, Khawaja and Voges.

Rohit has to do this more often now. Take one risk shot every over.... get to 250 odd in 45th over.

Last 5 overs, just hit everything and get atleast 60-65

I have a totally opposite feeling about Ummy boy. He is good in Asia, but on Aussie tracks, he will get murdered. Shami was our only hope it seems.

I think Rohit has the license now and Kohli will try to bat through

You are missing a basic point that many posters are making.

This very Amir/ Asif (when in their prime) toured Australai in 2009-10 when the Aussies greats like Gilchrist, Ponting, Hydos etc had just retired. Still they ended up 0-12 or something. Mohammed Yousuf was the captain IIRC.

Awwwww. How sad. Poor Wasim, Waqar and Akhtar had to bowl to the best Australian batsmen. Next time Pakistan tour Australia, Australia should get some 10 year old kids to bat for them so that Pakistan can at least mange to draw a match in Australia after getting mercilessly hammered there since the last 20 decades.

And everyone here knows here that you are a Pakistani pretending to be a English and living in Australia. Stop referring to Pakistan as 'you' or 'they' .

The best case scenario of this produces 315 which is at best slightly above par.

The worst case falls short and they are in huge trouble.

Rohit is in no mood to get out.

Looks like 150 plus for him.

Yes.

And Asif bowled Australia out for 127 at Sydney. Including Ponting, Clarke and Hussey.
