News is that Immy K in, and Sharjeek K in. Asghar misses out. Not 100% confirmed though.
 
I hope they select Immy K, especially for [MENTION=139754]New Yorker[/MENTION] his biggest fan would be a nice new years gift :)) maybe for the Aussie batsman to :hafeez2 :yk3
 
Pakistan are being fooled by the green grass on the pitch if they're deciding against playing two spinners. SCG always turns. If Australia are playing two spinners then it's daft that we might not be!
 
Meanwhile, Pakistan have handed out a debut to Sharjeel Khan.

Hilton Cartwright will make his Test debut for Australia.

Hopefully not. He should look to emulate Bird's bowling. He has performed brilliantly in this series. :jimmy

To be fair to posters like [MENTION=139754]New Yorker[/MENTION] bowlers like Wahab get chance after chance but lacks consistency, Imran has been solid if not spectacular; he deserves a shot, the series is lost and I know there is still a lot to play for but our bowlers have been very very disappointing.
 
Looks like this is the end of Sami. Poor kid is going to rot in domestics while a ttf will probably take his spot for the easy tours.
 
Sharjeel announced on the scoreboard. If Sami Aslam was considered mentally shot, Salman Butt is the obvious choice for Sydney given his track record here.

Playing less spinners than Australia? Bizarre.

Sami is like 21. He has plenty of time on his side. Should get another chance in 2-3 years.

Sami has had his fair chance. Needs to go back in domestics and improve. Can't have a nightwatchman opening the batting.
 
Sami should not be dropped. Babar could have been dropped as he automatically would have joined once Misbah retired(likely after this test), This will only dent Sami's confidence.

Sami lost his gameplan. If He just have done tuc tuc tuc and stayed We World have drawn The match. Sorry He is NOT that mentally tough.

Brother many say the same about Azhar Ali but he is effective. Sami is only 21 Years old and must be persisted and given confidence, Rare opening batsman in Pakistan who knows where his off stump is.

He should be back for the next Test. Just take him out of the firing line.

The need for a pace bowling all rounder

How awful Misbah and Younis are due to old age

Goodness me! you're like a man possessed, am very suspicious you could be a computer which posts with default settings. I want to know more about dhaka adventures, your PG encounters in the 60's and 70's, how incredible Pakistan were on the county circuit and World of Sport Wrestling
 
It isn't the end of sami even if he is limited,utns a dead rubber so you can try things.
 
Sami will be part of the WI test squad. Good that he is being given a rest. Looked low on confidence in Melbourne.

People calling for Sami to be dropped need to stick t20s and Odis, have no patience or eye for test cricket.
 
How can one really with senses agree on Sami Aslam being dropped. He is one of the bright Test Match prospects we have.

Thank God, Sharjeel is playing, something to watch for. He will start his inning after tea on Wednesday, after Australia will declare at 570-4.
 
The cap given to Sharjeel Khan didn't even fit him properly. :))

We don't have a fast bowling all rounder like Australia hence why we can't play two specialist spinners.

Pakistan's national anthem sounded like a mockery. Not sure why they had an Australian sing it.
 
I think Sharjeel is the first cricketer born in Hyderabad to play a Test for Pakistan.
 
Man I hope we bowl well unlike last Test. If we bowl like that I'm not going to bother watching.

Mohammad Asif took 6-41 and 2-53 last time on a similar track in similar conditions.

And Salman Butt has scores here of 101, 21, 71 and 21.

Five days of accountability coming up for Inzamam.
 
In my life time, I have see, read lot - one more to add today : in a Test in Australia, Aussies are playing 2 specialist finger spinners, PAK only one leggi.

Anyway, it's better to pick Imran than half decent spinners like Nawaz.

PAK should hope for lots of rain - the % of toss that Misbah had won in UAE, at some point it was to balance. Hope, his face doesn't demoralize players.

Asif bowled in Overcast conditions. Plus that was 7 YEARS AGO!

Imran Khan bowls at spinners pace anyway. He can be our second spinner.
