Smith is a leg before candidate something Australia is not using. Chris Martin simply owned him. Even Sreesanth picked him 4 times 3 times leg before i think.

I would have personally preferred watto. On surfaces like this cutters are more effective. He bowls cutters especially to righties well.

Well Watson is not the fourth best bowler in Australia so he does not deserve to be picked. He is an all rounder and has to hold his place that way, not as a specialist bowler.

It is not as if the Aussie tail can't bat so they don't really need to bolster the lower order.

I think you need to be able to move the ball though :)))

None of our bowlers really do that.

You have to start either from tad outside the off or leg stump and brings it back for Smith. Zaheer did that in One dayers. I think in that tour both in ODI and Test Zak claimed him 6 times. Most probable bowler to dismiss Smith is Johnson.

Mitchell Johnson has a chance to snaffle him. He just has to bowl dead straight with strong on side field set.

Yep he can do that all day. MJ is our best bowler now which kinda says something.

Smith hits a boundary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5th ball from Brett Lee was the type of delivery that gets Smith out. He just has to push just an inch or two inside.

Smith creamed straight down the ground Good shot. Something happened to him?

Real gritty test cricket going on here. Complete opposite of what Australia did. Saffers are putting away the bad balls, and leaving the good balls alone. Aussies went too much at every ball, besides Krapich, like usual.

Awful delivery. Delightful shot from Amla. Combination of Azharuddin and Carl hooper in that shot.

Is that Asoka de silva? my goodness for such an important series why do you have this clown?

Siddle is mysteriously obese. Has some fair man-booby action goin on. :inzi

Short ball is a no no on this pitch. Brett Lee bending his back. Amla was early into pull on the front foot! You can imagine how much pace the ball lost after pitching.

It is a slow pitch. I think Australia has to have slow bowler at one end. Faster you bowl faster it is going to disappear. They gotta slow the pace.

Smith is 425 runs far from Yousuf record for most runs in a calendar year and shewag is 343 runs short, they both have one test remainng this year

Man this guy is a special player among the robotic South African players like Kallis, Smith, Prince.

For an experienced bowler like Lee that was a very very ordinary bouncer. Bouncer is a wasted delivery on this pitch.

Brett Lee bowls slower ones alright. But it is easily playable. Slower ones should dip gradually in. Not hit the bat as a full toss.

I hope they dont make it upto 1788 :moyo

Come on guys.. This guy must be related to Azharuddin. Last time i saw some one play flick on the off side like this it was Azharuddin.

His background is from India too so you never know, but he is not related to him in terms of match fixing :)))

Hyderabad has a seperate flair. Azhar, Laxman. This guy fits right in.

South Africa is marching on after slow start. Let us see how Punter reacts. He gotta do something or else these guys are capable racking up huge scores once they get their eye in.

The thing with Amla is that you know that its him batting.

Not his coach.

There run-rate in last ten was 5.2, also tey are hitting a 4 in every over now

Amla is putting every single Australian bowler in their place.
yes he is as i said they are hitting atleast a four in each over

Funny thing is Australia has been giving away atleast one boundary ball every over from the get go. But Mckenzie wasted everything and added pressure to himself. Amla didn't waste time wasting the deliveries.

Very very bad bowling. They were atleast half decent earlier. They are bowling some rubbish stuffs. I don't know how they are going to get wicket.

Krezja is not a good spin bowler in terms of flow of the runs, he is giving aot of runs

He started well. He is loosing his bearings now. They just milk him at will.

This Aussie attack isn't potent enough. Even if they go on to topple SA - none of the three in Lee, Siddle, or MJ are test class. Lee is especially disappointing. He's so experienced yet can't move the ball and deceive the batsman. All he does is bowl line and length at 140s.

true roy should come in now, but now they have slowed down a bit so punter will be happy with these boys but they are going to start hitting again and then punter will probably bring in roy or clarke

mann to be honest now SA is kinda on backfoot now because Amla was well settled, Kallis is not good with bat this year, JP is on debut. AB you never know he might not play good and boucher he usually doesnt score alot so it is basically on smith now

ABD is a big lottery. Boom or Bust.

I think this uncertainty has introduced certain beauty into this test match. It might turn out to be a classic.

It will now hopefully

If he can bowl that over spin delivery to go through straight batsmen will be really confused.

I am little puzzled by Punter's field set. He should have a short leg. Commies are not mentioning also.

Same here..I think he is probably busy with his gum
:)))

Saffers still have upper hand. Krejza is getting lucky. Any decent player would have come a few metres dwn the pitch, and cracked him for a few sixes, as ABD has shown.
