Australia vs Pakistan | 2nd Test | Adelaide | Nov 29 - Dec 3, 2019 | Day 1 | Match Thread

Somebody needs to tighten up the screws in misbah's head.

There was no need to drop naseem for Musa

Man this Labuschagne looked like a mediocre tail-ender in the UAE in 2018. The confidence with which he is leaving the ball is a remarkable turnaround :))

6 overs 1/8 and one boundary came in of the edge.

This is the kind of consistency needed in international cricket which Pak has been lacking for couple or years now. Hopefully this continues and improves from here.

What do you make of Abbas's bowling MMHS

Ideal conditions for him.

I think one of the reasons Abbas wasn't selected was because of his pace not saying IK is faster but Abbas is bowling 125kph in his 1st spell

Now this is true test cricket. Bowlers also being patient with there lines and are testing the patience or batsmen rather than giving them poor ball in every over.

But, not the ideal ball. I don’t think he is comfortable handling Pink ball with one extra layer of coating. In fact in such conditions, you should expect ball to swing more. May be, it’ll swing more and late after 10/12 overs. Neither of the Aussie pair is famous for playing moving ball, but they are leaving too many, suggests may be PAK pacers should bowl a bit closer and make them play.....

We are not making Labuschagne play much. He is leaving the ball with too much comfort. Need to attack him, or else this will turn into Gabba 2.0

Abbas will do really, really bad here for his reputation, if he proves that on that Gabba track, it was a good call to drop him for Imran!!!!!!!

:)))

The way PP had hyped Abbas McGrath, hope he repays that.

Yes ideally should be more on off stump or 4th stump line but if they can keep the lengths right I will even take the 5th stump than drifting on the legs as it will give them the momentum in the innings. They should force the momentum than Pak trying hard to make them play and giving it away easily which was the mistake in first match as well in my opinion.

Abbas wasn't this slow, was he?

He's been this slow at least since SA series where he went wicket-less. On the most bowler friendly tracks.

Never trust PPers when they collectively hype up a player, specially when he gets dropped for another player. That's when the craze is at its max.

Bowling 5th stump is as useless as bowling on legs

Nothing justifies picking crap Imran khan as work horse

Labuschagne is going to be a modern day great. His technique has become rock solid.

The floodgates will open once Musa comes to bowl. Rubbish bowler.

For a change, some good commentary from Akram. I liked how he called out Labuschagne’s technique

Being wicketless and bowling 120kph doesn't?

You're either an Abbas fan or an Imran hater.

The fact is, both are mediocre, one is mediocre at 120kph. The other at 138kph.

If length is right atleast it doesnt give away runs and there is always a chance for batsmen louring into it. Bowling on legs not only doesnt get wicket but gives runs as well.

Ideally pacers should work hard on that off stump and 4th stump line for tests and even ODIs but till than I will take bowling on one side of the wicket rather than trying things and which they cant at the moment.

Junaids - have they changed the shape of Adelaide Oval. Long, long back, I can recall Imran hitting a straight Six, at least 125 metres, dead straight over screen to 2nd tier, and that time ground dimension was like 60mts vs 110mts, but this one looks like much balanced.

Musa is shorter than the umpire.

This is embarrassing.

Musa has wider frame but not at all as short as some people make him out to be. Obviously he isnt very tall but not that short as well.

Seen better bowlers in my gully back in Karachi than Musa. Don't know how this guy made it to international cricket.

I think it's the same . Long straight boundaries and short square boundaries.

Honestly naseem shah is amazing but this guy is crap I know why he was selected as well cause waqar really liked him the nets lol lord save Pakistan cricket

Only 8 (?) bowlers have taken wicket with their 1st ball of Test career, and few more in first over - I believe last one was Richard Illingworth (or Nile’s Kulkarni?) and PAK has one of the 8 - Intekhab Alam, while Shahed Nazir took a wicket on his 5th ball of first over ... Musa had his chance of either...

I’m no ABBAS fan. He’s an average bowler who atleast can bowl 25 overs a day but Imran is rubbish

Just because you’re misbah fan doesn’t mean you have to acknowledge his every selection

Pakistan is playing with 1 bowler in Shaheen. Musa is garbage. Yasir is useless here. Abbas has no pace whatsoever to trouble the Aussies.

500 is inevitable here.

Abbas is embarrassing

The domestic performance speaks a lot

Yes somewhere around that which isnt tall but people here are talking like he is a dwarf.

Bro Azhar Ali is 5”8 musa is like 5”6 that is a dwarf especially if you’re a fast bowler than that isn’t even a dwarf that would be like a micro person

Hopefully Abbas wont have a problems bowling long spells

Not a bad session for Pakistan... at least Aus not scoring with 4+ in a over

6th over of Shaheen at one go, which suggests he is not likely to come for a 2nd spell before lunch - unless he takes a wicket here, probably this will not work well. Probably 17 overs max is best for him in a 90 overs day, but I guess he’ll bowl 19 or more if Aussies bat full 90 overs.

Abbas used to bowl around 128-130kph, he has lost 5kph of pace.

Azhar is around 5’9. Musa doesnt look too short alongside him, maybe an inch or so.

PAKs over rate MashAllah - may be team has found a way to get rid of Azhar.....
