What's new

Bangladesh beat England by 34 runs in 2nd ODI

Nasir was never going to drop that. Bangladesh win was never in doubt like I said.

Ugly play by both teams - should have been 1-1, but it's like 2 negatives making it positive.

Today after BD cross 160 losing 7 wkts.. my driver was like 'Sir Do you think today we will win?

I replied 'Yes obviously. We lost a win match tomorrow, we should win this lost match (at that time it seemed BD will loose) now'

This is bizarre explanation of our crowd and players.Yes, there is difference in crowd of Bangladesh and other countries, but there is no fault in doing this. Our crowd goes to stadium only to support their team, not to enjoy the heroics of opponent team.Only Australian and English fans enjoy good cricket of even opponent team. Both our crowd and players are very much passionate about their own team. I see nothing offensive here.

What I've concluded from your post is: you consider my post to be a bizarre explanation, but then you go on to admit that it's true and that there's no fault in it?

It's been really disappointing, almost upsetting watching Bangladesh today.

Buttler wasn't shaking hands properly. He's still upset. And another argument there at the end during the handshakes. This time between Tamim and Stokes. I wonder what caused all this. Hope there are no bans for the next match.

Nothing - they couldn't swallow the defeat.

Looks like it was a very good match.

ODIs in Bangladesh have been very interesting lately as opposed to other venues where they have been just run fests on roads.

It's weird because Buttler is a very polite and calm guy, but Mahmadullah is a very calm guy too from what I've seen of him.

Odd to see a spat between the two.

I think, Josh is going to face Srinath today. It's unfortunate for him - wrong guy as Match Referee.

now this english are crying like babies when subcontinent players give the treatment of their own..

England team and media trying to make a mountain out of a molehill of that incident. As if England never gave anyone a sendoff. I distinctly remember Graeme Swann giving Junaid Siddique an expletive-laden send-off after the latter had scored a brilliant century the last time England were in Bangladesh. Steven Finn also barged him during his innings.

Nothing disappointing about the B'desh crowd, they were fine. Not applauding an opponent's shots is okay, though appreciation may be better. The crowd throwing things at the players is not okay, and I didn't see any behavior like that today.

Doesn't Mahmadulluah have some kind of history with Brendon Taylor?

I've watched him only in the matches against India admittedly and he always looked a calm and composed person to me unlike his team mates who can sometimes go OTT with their emotions.

ODIs in Bangladesh are the most intense than runfests everywhere else in the world

That was more like banter. Mahmudullah and Taylor are good friends. Have played for the same team in the BPL and DPL. Riyad is one the coolest guys in the Bangladesh team. Doesn't usually lose his calm.

Bangladesh have to get away from this minnow mentality, they throwing matches for no reason. Should be more clinical next time, they have to be more mentally stronger

Tbh I think England fluffed it here. Butler read pitch wrong and should have batted first.

Pitch was much favourable later in the innings

Bangladesh won the game, but wasn't convincing.

I didn't know that the decider is at CTG Mainul :)
Same to me.:narine. Came to know that from Nasser Hossain!
I hope that England will get a different taste out there in Chittagong.:rp

That's exactly my point; the lack of appreciation is disappointing. But I guess may be this is part and parcel of not having a rich cricketing culture and being a relatively new test nation- your average Tom, Dick and Harry can't relate to the quality of cricket being played.

Don't see how crowd throwing is relevant to my post. My point is my disappointment in the Bangladeshi crowd and players, whether or not other crowds throw or not doesn't nullify my point or justify any other behaviour.

It wasnt easy but BD were in control all the way through, only last wicket partnership England looked more dangerous, in their chase.

Same can be said about first ODI. Batting looked convincing, England were all but lost, then a gift was handed to them by BD, as maybe a thanks for coming England.

But, whatever you and I and others, may say, if's and buts, doesnt matter. It's one - one. both teams move on to the decided.

Been a cracker of a ODI series, thats for sure.

This is your lack of knowledge on Mashrafe. He has undergone 7, yes you read it correct, 7 major operations on his knees. Such was the scale of every operations, his Aussie surgeon believed he was a miracle boy to be able to bowl after 3rd one. No player, let alone a bowler, ever survived in sports after having gone in such injuries. It's his surreal talent that got him here where he is now. In BD, he is worshipped because of his sheer talent, leadership and unparalleled commitment.

Don't worry Bangla fans. Mash will win it for you. This guy is an amazing cricketer despite having limited talent.

You can be upset only if you are an Aussie or English.

It was Stokes, he evidently wasn't too happy with what was said to Buttler.

I hope whatever happened in the heat of the moment it becomes calm and players of both team realize that at the end of the day it's just a game.It happened many times before between players and it will happen in future.

intense because of Bangladesh throwing away, they are better but mentally too weak

Mental weakness has more to do with past instances. SA struggles in World Cups not because they are chokers but they always have it in the back of their mind that they lose world cup knockouts.

Only way to avert that is to actually win these matches. For that we need chase 300+ more often and chase it.

See the irony - you are referring to a series win 3 years back, then people considers 3 Series win in 2015 as yesteryear.

Because you asked what has Pakistan done in 3 years?

I just answered your question simply. Doesn't matter what others are saying

Or is that train of logic behind you?

What a pathetic thing to say. Of course I can be upset. I can be any nationality and be upset, it's not like I've personally been part of a misbehaving crowd.

Great to see Nasir Hossain back in the side. Always wanted him back, been crying out for him to be in the side for ages. He is such a good utility player, great to have in the side. He can bat, bowl and is probably the best fielder in BD. terrific hard working lad too.

Congrats to Bangla team played well,Mahmudullah my fav bangla player shining, still not convinced about his position though.

I wasn't satisfied with the win or the series, I wanted a Moeen Ali 50 and Bangladesh to win.
Moeen tried to calm things between Tamim and English players, such a gentleman while Shakib was acting like Chunni Babu.
