England (337/4) defeat India (336/6) by 6 wickets to win 2nd ODI - Series level at 1-1

We have not won a single LoI world tourney since WC '11. With the kind of depth we've had, this is simply an indictment of Dhoni & Kohli.

CT 2013?

Dhoni as a LOI captain is incomparable to Kohli really.

Excellent spell from Moeen Ali. Great control and the only boundary scored off him was due to a misfield.

Rashid has bowled well but wasn't backed by the fielders. Got Kohli out twice and apart from that one rubbish ball, he's shown good control as well.

Oh, how could I forget that?

Yeah, Kohli isn't a patch on Dhoni as a captain. Problem with Dhoni was that he overstayed in team for at least 3-4 years.

Agarkar says India is in a very good position.

lol, we are yet to hit 5 rpo in this innings. That's how poor we have been today with bat.

Agarkar says India is in a very good position.

These commentators are absolutely clueless. Either that or they're just smart enough not to offend King Kohli and co's inflated egos and keep minting their £££

Seriously, our commentators & cricket analysts have never been great but they have not been this poor, ever!

Odi game has changed, Dhawan needs to go, Rahul should only come in after 35 overs, Sharma and Kohli should change their lacklustre approach. Scoring 100 in anything more than 90 balls should be considered as bad performance.

Actually this yes man culture was cultivated by Dhoni, not Kohli. Remember how Harsha Bhogle got sacked for what, daring to praise Bangladesh?

I see you're back from the cave.

Hope you don't celebrate prematurely today. :ashwin

See, big shot from Pant off a almost a baldie!

Despite playing close to 100 balls in this innings, Rahul is still not properly in, still mistiming almost every delivery he is playing.

Don't know when India is going to ditch its outdated strategy of "laying a solid foundation" and then going for the big launch towards the end.

The India-Pakistan series if it happens is going to be a nice throwback to the good old days of ODI cricket of 2000s.

Should 100 of 100 be even considered a good innings?
If England bats the way they do, this target will look minute.

Pant should bat at 4 and KL at 5.

Pant will score his 70s at close to 100 S/R and Rahul at 5 will also play one-way only.

Danger time starts for England. They bowl length deliveries on middle leg during slog overs

Man..cant hear this abysmal hotstar commentary..trying to justify this borefest approach

Rahul is generally not this slow, but it looks like he's playing himself into form. Another thing to note is middle order is not Rahul's natural position.

It's why I feel Rahul should go up top with Rohit and SKY should play at 4 who is a more dynamic middle order bat. Having both Dhawan and Rohit up top is having two accumulators who start slow and that's killing the momentum of the innings. Then you have Kohli and Rahul who bat at a similar sedate rate and the result is a below par total by modern standards.

Bhaag Viru Bhaag, KL Rahul doing well again. He should be in the T20 team and stay in the ODI team. :inti

big inside edge

Pant reviews

Pant is ridiculously good. India need to find a role for him in the ODI team.

Pant is twice the batsman Rahul is. Back to back 6s from Pant now.

For the benefit of Indian team, Rahul should get out immediately and let Pandya bros ply their trade.

Even Pant's sixes look clumsy. It came off against someone like Stokes so he's obviously the next Gilchrist.

Dropped for the last game and Kohli said he may open going forward. KL Rahul has good numbers in the last year or so. Would be harsh to drop him after 1 series. :inti

TM keeps changing his batting order and role in the team. Sometimes he play as a batsman and sometimes he plays as a keeper batsman. :inti

Bhai itni jalan.. Calm down.. Next trip your teenagers will blow the Aussies apart.. just select a 15 year old this time.

That's how flashy players play.
If you don't rate him even after Gabba heist, then you don't have an eye for talent

I've seen enough "flashy" players as a fan of Pakistan. Pant is going to go the Umar Akmal route. His fundamentals are flawed.

Exactly.

In T20s he should bat in the top 3. In ODIs ideally he should open but he is showing he can do a job in the middle order.

Rahul has been doing well at No. 5. He plays slower up the order. They shouldn't have bumped him up to No. 4 but to his credit he has performed today.

KL Rahul is so good man. Kohli and Shastri need to get this demon playing in all formats .

I think India are scoring atleast 315.

England are playing with makeshift bowlers who will get hit all around.

Well no one with sane mind can go Umar Akmal way.. and Pant has much more sane mind than that Angoor muncher.

He already has done enough to be rated higher then Akmal.
You are fighting a lost battle here, Pant is gonna be a superstar.
